“Simplifies bookkeeping tasks”
Pros
this software is very easy. Plus it makes categorizing transactions and reconciling accounts much simpler for accounting and bookkeeping tasks.
Cons
At times the sync with bank accounts doesn't hold properly which can create discrepancies during reconciliation.

“clear reports and visibility”
Pros
The platform is very user friendly, gives excellent visibility into our numbers and offers a wide range of reports to work with.
Cons
There are still a few areas that could be better especially around product management and the integration with our warehouse system.

“user friendly accounting with constant updates”
Pros
Using this software is very fun and the regular updates keep making it better and better. It stays competitive in the online accounting space because the platform is so user friendly and clearly continues to improve over time.
Cons
One annoying part is that getting truly helpful feedback from support can be difficult at times. We often receive responses like we don't currently do that without much direction on possible workarounds or solutions. That said, its community is excellent and usually offers plenty of useful feedback when questions come up.

“Quite a valuable tool”
Pros
This software was very easy to use since it's user friendly and simple to work with. The reporting tools are one of the most valuable parts because they really help with running the business and keeping track of performance. It also manages payroll and now all of our systems are integrated into the software which has been a big plus.
Cons
A few of the reports can still be difficult to interpret and more tutorials would definitely help because I feel like I am not getting the full value from them yet. Budgeting is another area that could be more user friendly as well.

“cloud-first winner for small business”
Pros
Built with startups and small businesses in mind, Xero covers pretty much everything they need. The interface is 10/10 and being cloud-based from the start really shows. In my view, it still outpaces QuickBooks by a wide margin and a lot of the features QuickBooks has introduced over the last decade feel like things Xero was already doing first.
Cons
One thing it still lacks compared with QuickBooks/Intuit is a built-in tax add-on. There are plenty of integrations that can fill that gap but having it natively included would be better. Bill payment integration is also a bit more complicated than it is in QuickBooks.

“Saves us from manual work”
Pros
Running everything in the cloud is a big plus and the software supports unlimited users across its subscription plans. Every plan also comes with basic inventory management which is really useful. Another standout feature is the automated bill and invoice capture through Hubdoc which helps cut down on manual work.
Cons
One downside is that there's no live phone support available. Also, the cheapest plan comes with limits on invoices and bills which could be restrictive for smaller budgets.

“A complete accounting powerhouse”
Pros
Having everything in one place is the biggest advantage of this software. It covers the full accounting workflow, from creating invoices to keeping an accurate record of payments made to vendors and received from customers. The real-time data is also a huge plus because it helps with making decisions much faster.
Cons
The feature I'd really like to see is an automatic alert for pending payments. It would also be helpful if payments due could be deducted from the account automatically.

“powerful integrations for accounts”
Pros
There always seems to be a plugin available for nearly everything which makes the platform really adaptable. The integrations are excellent and it works very well as a way to manage all of your accounting in one place.
Cons
It can take a while to fully understand how everything fits together and sometimes the specific details you want aren't immediately obvious.

“real-time dashboard and time savings”
Pros
The platform is very easy to use. The accounting dashboard gives a real-time view of how the business is progressing which makes it much easier to follow its development. It also lets you create estimates, prepare forecasts and overall saves a lot of time.
Cons
The part I appreciate the least is the pricing structure. For someone just starting out, the plans feel quite expensive.

“flexible accounting with multicurrency”
Pros
The platform is simple and since most bookkeepers and accountants already know the system, working together is hassle-free. It covers everything I need and being able to use multiple currencies is something I really value.
Cons
I cannot think of any real downsides at the moment. The only thing I'd still want is the option to manage multiple international businesses from a single account.

“simple navigation, confusing reconciliation”
Pros
Coming from years of using QuickBooks and Sage as a bookkeeper, I was unsure at first when I heard the accounts team only worked with Xero. It turned out to be a pleasant surprise though because the system was very easy to navigate and use, even with very little training.
Cons
One thing that did cause some confusion at times was that there seemed to be several different ways to reconcile the bank.

“flexible transaction splits”
Pros
One feature that's been especially useful is the ability to split a single transaction across multiple categories. The option to customize expense categories is also a big plus especially since some other accounting tools don't offer that level of flexibility.
Cons
The pricing is a little high. We do receive a charity discount which definitely helps.

“fast cloud accounting powerhouse”
Pros
Switching to Xero fixed every problem we were dealing with in our previous accounting software. It runs quickly, comes with a wide range of features and keeps all of our data stored securely in the cloud.
Cons
It can be a bit more expensive than some competing options but overall it's still a very decent software solution.

“powerful cloud accounting platform”
Pros
Xero is like the go-to standard these days for cloud-based accounting and financial record management. It covers a lot in one platform but I'd suggest sticking to the features that actually match your business size and stage so it doesn't become more than you need. Paying only for the tools that fit your setup makes the most sense. Once everything is configured properly and automation is in place, it becomes very easy to use. It's worth having a professional handle the initial dashboard and account setup, then letting the automations make day to day use much simpler afterward.
Cons
The thing to keep in mind is how deep the software goes. As it can support even very large companies with complex accounting requirements because it has such a wide range of features. That flexibility is useful but if you start using or paying for more than your business actually needs, it can turn fairly simple accounting into something unnecessarily complicated.

“handy interface and smart design”
Pros
Compared with a lot of similar tools, this application takes a better approach by not showing automatic payment orders in the usual way. That difference really stands out and the interface is well designed, practical and genuinely useful.
Cons
Even though it's a quality and useful product, the price is high enough to keep it from reaching a broader audience. I really wish it were more affordable.
