“user friendly accounting workflow”
Pros
Everything in this system is very easy to use, no matter how comfortable someone is with technology. Entering invoices, paying bills and reconciling accounts are all simple to navigate and easy to follow so there's really not much training needed.
Cons
One thing I'd like to see is the ability to set up automatic draft payments directly in the system instead of having to handle that through our bank.

“helpful training and updates”
Pros
The training tools have been really useful and they do a good job of keeping users informed about new features and changes. The quarterly updates also help keep certification current which is a big plus.
Cons
One limitation right now is in the Projects feature, where quotes and projects cannot be set up in multiple currencies. At the moment, you're restricted to using your own country's currency only.

“all-in-one cloud accounting”
Pros
Having all my accounting needs together in one cloud-based platform has been fantastic. I am Xero Certified as well and I am planning to launch my own business providing accounting and finance services.
Cons
I still need to spend more time using the software before I can really say what I like least about it.

“friendly layout for beginners”
Pros
The layout is the part I like most about Xero. Overall it is user friendly and not overly complicated to pick up which makes it a good option for someone just getting started with accounting.
Cons
One thing that could definitely be improved is the search function. I end up spending more time than I should trying to locate things because it often doesn't pull up what I am looking for. I am not sure why it seems so particular but it can be pretty frustrating.

“user friendly dashboard and value”
Pros
One of the biggest advantages is the price and On top of that it's very user friendly. All the important information is laid out in one place which makes it simple to keep track of everything.
Cons
A few features that were available in Sage are missing here and the customer support could definitely be better.

“accounting made accessible”
Pros
Built with non-accounting business users in mind, Xero is very approachable to use. Once the information is entered, it also gives accountants a really strong platform to complete the company's financial records on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis. On top of that the pricing is reasonable and fits within the budget of most business owners.
Cons
Honestly I cannot point to any part of the software that I liked least. I am not aware of any major issues or anything significant that seems to need fixing.

“bank syncing makes taxes doable”
Pros
Connecting it straight to a bank account and then being guided through reconciling each transaction makes the entire tax process feel completely manageable.
Cons
There is still a bit of a learning curve with the software. That said, I think that comes with any tax platform and from everything I have read, this one seems less steep than most of the alternatives.

“not worth the time”
Pros
Honestly there wasn't much to like. The interface never felt user‑friendly, it was only slightly cheaper than QuickBooks and in the end it just didn't feel worth it when QuickBooks Online offers much more value.
Cons
Just about everything felt hard to navigate. Payroll, back when it was still available, didn't include direct deposit, 941 taxes couldn't be submitted electronically and the whole thing ended up being a major drain on my time.

“Good for accounting needs”
Pros
Using Xero has been a really positive experience because it's simple to set up and easy to use. It honestly surprises me when clients say they're using other platforms instead. Since we're a software company ourselves, we really value a clean, user friendly interface and that's exactly what Xero delivers.
Cons
My only real complaint was having to pay extra to get additional space for reconciliation.

“fantastic for bank rec and reporting”
Pros
The interface looks modern and is easy to work with. I really appreciate the bank reconciliation, VAT and PAYE submission features and being able to generate P&L reports and balance sheets so quickly is a big plus.
Cons
There are still a few rough spots especially when it comes to allocating payments which I think comes from how the accounting side was originally simplified. The UK Payroll feature can become quite involved although honestly I am not sure it could be made much simpler. I also miss having a simple way to generate a remittance advice when making a payment.

“all-in-one accounting winner”
Pros
Having account reconciliation, payroll and reporting all together in one package makes managing finances much easier. It really feels like having an accountant built right into your computer.
Cons
There's honestly very little to complain about with this software. If I had to point out one thing, it's slightly on the pricey side but compared with paying for a bookkeeper, it still comes out as good value.

“Has great potential”
Pros
Coming at it as someone who only works with Xero occasionally, mainly to set up integrations for clients, I can still see how capable the platform is. Its strongest point is how well it integrates with other software and services which makes it especially useful in integration-focused work.
Cons
That said despite being a powerful tool, it takes quite a bit of customization before it's really ready to use within a company. I'd definitely prefer the setup and customization process to be more simpler and beginner-friendly.

“clean layout and quick transition”
Pros
Switching to Xero was one of the simplest platform changes we've made and there were very few issues along the way. The layout is clean, simple and very easy to follow which makes the system simple to use and understand.
Cons
The biggest limitation is the lack of flexibility in report customization, along with limited access to live support. The resource library is very helpful but there are still times when being able to speak with someone live would make a difference.

“fast setup and reliable updates”
Pros
Getting Xero up and running was quick and it has worked really well for our company. Our accountant can access the information they need without any trouble and the platform is updated regularly.
Cons
There are times when it takes me a bit to locate something I need although that may just be because bookkeeping isn't really my area of expertise.

“bank feeds are fantastic”
Pros
After getting familiar with it Xero becomes very easy to use. The bank feeds are the standout feature, automatically pulling transactions from multiple bank accounts into one place which is incredibly helpful.
Cons
The initial setup does come with a real learning curve. A lot of its users are probably freelancers or small businesses without much bookkeeping experience especially when it comes to setting up a Chart of Accounts so having a wizard or guided setup would make a big difference.

“Simplifies everything!”
Pros
A free month at sign-up is a nice bonus and the software really takes the hassle out of accounting. It follows most tax standards as well which makes managing the books feel surprisingly easy and almost enjoyable.
Cons
While it's an excellent fit for startups and small to medium-sized businesses, it doesn't quite hold up as well for larger-scale operations.
