Connecting it with tools I already use, like GoCardless and HubSpot, has been really helpful. It fits in well with my other software and takes a lot of hassle out of day to day work.
Cons
Its interface is a little confusing and impersonal and the navigation can be confusing at times. That said, this may just come down to my personal preferences and how I expect things to be laid out.

Xero is very easy to use and the intelligent matching feature saves a lot of time. The dashboards are genuinely useful for keeping track of everything, support is responsive once a case is submitted and the data feeds come through on time.
Cons
The downside is that there's no option to speak with a support representative live so having to submit a case can slow down how quickly issues get resolved.

The support has been consistently excellent and the platform is always reliable in terms of performance and functionality. The payments integration has been especially valuable for us and the bank feed reconciliations are something we really appreciate as well.
Cons
One feature we requested years ago still hasn't been added. It was also suggested by my brother and we even created a product idea forum post that has support from several other software users.

Its layout is simple and very user friendly, with everything organized in a way that seems user friendly throughout the software. It works well overall and I'd really like to see invoices and quotes broken down by product as well.
Cons
Only frustration is that when I make changes to my chart of accounts, those updates don't carry over to existing transactions. That means I have to go back, find them and recode them manually which I cannot do when auto tax is being used.

Keeping up with my business accounting is easy with this software, both for me and my bookkeeper. Even without an accounting background, I can still find my way around it without any trouble.
Cons
It doesn't support direct feeds for every bank or account type which is a slight inconvenience. As a sole trader, I'd prefer to have direct feed access for both my personal and business accounts.

One thing I like most is how simple it it to use. There are clear options to keep moving forward and I can start a task without having to go back to the dashboard every time.
Cons
At times it can be a bit slow and I'd change the way it behaves after saving a bill or invoice draft. It always takes me back to the business page, when it would make much more sense to stay on the same user page.

It has been proven to be a really great tool for us. We use it for payroll, general accounting, bill tracking and payments and it also connects well with our retail and inventory system. One of its biggest strengths is the huge range of other software that integrates with it.
Cons
The built-in inventory feature in it isn't very practical for a business that manages stock along with inbound and outbound inventory. If that's an important part of your workflow, it's worth using a different inventory system that integrates with the tool instead.

Xero software is easy to use and the setup process didn't take much effort. There's also a strong library of detailed help documents which makes it simple to find answers when needed. The ATO integration has been especially valuable since it cuts down a lot of the time I'd otherwise spend handling lodgements.
Cons
Its pricing is a little high especially when fairly basic add-ons like multi-currency or superannuation payments come at an extra cost.

It's a popular choice among accountants yet it's also simple enough for non-accountants to use comfortably. The interface is user friendly so getting started doesn't really require any formal training.
Cons

I started using Xero in 2021 when I set up my LLC and it's been a really great fit. It includes a true general ledger with codes, along with standard accounting reports such as the Chart of Accounts and Profit and Loss which I really value. The pricing is also reasonable. On top of that copying an old invoice and sending out a new one is quick even from the mobile app. Another big plus is being able to add someone like my CPA as a user so they can access and download reports themselves.
Cons
A few of the company settings are harder to locate than they should be especially things like where to upload my logo. I also wish the logo displayed on invoices could be a bit bigger. Still, those issues aren't enough to make me switch back to FreshBooks.

Running my business on my own, having fast, polished invoicing and quoting has been a huge help. Xero also makes it simple to reconcile transactions through bank feeds and set up recurring bills which saves me from digging through paperwork and pulling everything together when BAS or EOFY tax time comes around. Having it all stored in one place has taken away a lot of stress. I used to manage everything with spreadsheets and switching to Xero has saved me countless hours and a lot of unnecessary hassle.
Cons
One thing that does bother me a bit is the pricing. I signed up when the cost was much better and since I only use this tool for the functions I mentioned here, the price increases have felt pretty steep. At this point I am somewhat locked in because all of my data is already in the system. That said, the convenience still makes it worth paying for now. I just cannot help wondering whether they know users are a bit trapped and it does make me concerned about more price hikes down the track.
