Simple to share department data

Pros

I really appreciate how simple it is to share department data with executives without a lot of extra effort.

Cons

It takes some effort to figure it out. It took me around five months before I was really able to get the most value out of it.

Useful connection with Microsoft tools

Pros

This tool works really well for building interactive charts, dashboards and reports so data is much easier to explore and understand. The connection with Microsoft tools such as Excel and SharePoint is a big plus and makes day-to-day work more convenient. It also feels beginner-friendly overall, letting users put together useful reports quickly without needing much setup.

Cons

Once you get into the more advanced parts, like DAX formulas and data modeling, the learning curve gets pretty steep and can be tough for beginners to pick up. On top of that, performance tends to slow down with very large or more complex datasets which can make report rendering take longer.

Makes data accessible

Pros

Turning hard-to-use spreadsheets into dashboards that are much easier to handle, analyze and explore is where this really shines. It makes the data far more accessible and a lot simpler to interpret.

Cons

There is definitely a learning curve at the start. Building a proper Power BI front end takes real skill and without knowledgeable maintenance, things can be fairly prone to breaking.
