“good for basic analysis”

Pros

Being able to schedule custom recurring reports for exact dates and times has really organized the way we handle reporting. It saves us a lot of time and makes sure important information gets delivered when it's needed. The platform is also easy to use and exporting data is a simple process no matter how large the dataset is. That usability makes information much more accessible and helps with faster review and analysis.

Cons

While its great for handling large amounts of data when compared with other analytics tools on the market, it feels limited in what it can do. That gap becomes noticeable when trying to perform more advanced analysis. It handles basic reporting well enough but it may not be the best fit for anyone looking for more sophisticated analytics features.

Pros

It has had a lasting impact on our company by showing us just how much value is hidden in our data. The visualization options are incredibly extensive and have allowed us to turn complex information into meaningful, insightful dashboards. The real time refresh feature has been a real game-changer, helping us make agile decisions and monitor developments as they happen. On top of that its user friendly design and strong customization options make Power BI an essential part of our data-driven decision-making process.

Cons

Even with all its strengths, it can be challenging for beginners at first. The wide range of features and settings can feel overwhelming when you are just getting started. Some of the more advanced capabilities also require extra training to really unlock the full value of the platform. In addition, the paid licensing structure can be a financial obstacle for smaller businesses.

Pros

Using it has been really easy and it's simple to work with. It connects to different data sources especially MS Excel which makes the whole process very convenient and gives a quick way to pull out useful data insights.

Cons

I haven't run into any issues with it at this point.

Pros

I used it to process and check a large amount of data in very little time. It was also really useful for getting KPIs and aggregates together without much hassle. Once the dashboards are built, you just load in the new data and everything keeps running perfectly.

Cons

Getting started is a bit complicated especially if it's your first BI tool. That said once you get comfortable with it, using it is a real pleasure.

Pros

It feels very user friendly especially because the drag and drop feature makes building reports simple.

Cons

When code isn't written correctly, the error corrections or messages aren't always very clear for a beginner.

Power BI fills the reporting gaps that Salesforce can't handle on its own. We use it to bring together multiple data sets and report from one unified view which makes the overall analysis much more useful.

Cons

Installation and then team wide adoption can be a bit challenging.

Very easy to use and the reports are highly visual which makes it accessible for every department across the company.

The report creation process could still be optimized.

The dashboards make data analysis really practical and the toggle features are especially useful for switching between different views of the data quickly at a glance.

At times, it can feel fairly complicated if you're not already familiar with it and getting the hang of how to use it can be difficult at first.

As someone without an IT background, I can still create data visualizations in the program that deliver real business insights and give us access to critical information we use to improve our operations every day.

Calculations work a bit differently compared to Excel so there is a learning curve for new users until they get comfortable with it.

When it comes to data analysis, this has been the most capable and compatible tool I've used. It lets me analyze data quickly, uncover trends and insights with a few simple scripts and present everything through dashboards for users who aren't comfortable working directly with raw data.

Cons

I haven't run into any real downsides with this as a data analysis tool. It performs extremely well across the board.

Getting real time updates and having it connect smoothly with Microsoft tools has been a big advantage.

Cons

A few users have pointed out that there's a learning curve especially for anyone new to the platform or without previous data analysis experience.

Pros

Compared with most BI platforms we've used, this has been much more dependable and consistently performs at a high level over time. It has also held up really well in our security testing and we almost never run into problems with the product itself aside from the occasional issue pulling data from other tools.

Cons

Nothing here makes us want to switch to another platform though one small concern is that the interface is starting to feel dated. The familiar layout does make it easier to work with but it seems to be falling a little behind some competitors in terms of design.

Pros

Building basic reports is simple but where this tool really shines is in pulling data from multiple sources and turning it into efficient, insightful dashboards.

Cons

Once the setup and reporting needs get more complex, you'll eventually need specialists who know how to handle the data requirements properly.

Pros

Integrating it with third party tools is very easy, the visuals it creates look excellent and it makes sharing reports with multiple people really convenient.

Cons

You do need a fairly capable computer to run it well because when you're working with large volumes of data, loading can take a while.

Pros

Everything I need is in this tool. It covers all the necessary data, has different categories and sections and makes it simple to monitor agents' KPIs for daily reporting.

Cons

Data extraction can be a bit delayed at times but it's understandable and still manageable.

The reports and dashboards look fantastic and there's a lot of flexibility to customize them exactly the way you want.

Cons

One challenge has been embedding reports into other software or systems especially platforms like Dynamics Business Central.

It brings a lot of analysis together in one place. The tab based layout also makes data visualization more convenient and easier to access when it works properly.

Cons

It doesn't always work reliably. It can slow down quite a bit at times and some features don't display properly depending on screen size especially on a laptop.

Power BI is an excellent tool for building dashboards and the views can be customized really well based on user roles, designations or permissions.

Cons

The pricing is definitely on the higher side but I see it more as an investment considering what it delivers.

Does a really nice job of turning data into clear visuals and helping connect different metrics in a meaningful way. It's especially well suited for basic users and the interface feels very approachable and user friendly.

Cons

On the downside, it can be very heavy when loading, using, exporting or working with data in general. That makes things harder for fast paced teams because too much time gets lost waiting on the tool and it often ends with exporting the data just to review it outside of Power BI.

“My review”

Pros

A useful platform with a wide range of features for handling business intelligence needs.

Cons

Its pretty difficult to bring data from AWS into Power BI. I also don't like that getting real time data apparently requires installing SQL Server on prem which makes the setup feel unnecessarily complicated.
