“Short learning period”
Pros
Getting up to speed with it was surprisingly quick and that shorter learning curve ended up saving both time and money.
Cons
Compared with the limitations of the product we were using before, it's honestly difficult to point out real downsides without spending more time trying to find them. If anything, there may be so many change and export options available so quickly that deciding where to start can feel a bit overwhelming especially when exporting data to different sources and formats. Still, that's the kind of problem we would have wanted to have anyway.

“Very user friendly”
Pros
Using this software has been very convenient for building dashboards for my POS software clients and then I can publish them on Power BI Web for access. The software is very user friendly and my clients are really happy because they can clearly visualize their sales and profit through the dashboards.
Cons
One thing I would still want is a free developer account option for Power BI Web.

“real time reporting that delivers”
Pros
Coming from Excel, getting comfortable with Power BI felt very natural. The platform runs fluidly, handles very large datasets without trouble and makes report creation quick and practical. It stays stable without crashing and works perfectly in real time which has made a big difference in daily use.
Cons
Honestly, I wouldn't change anything. this platform has been worth every cent we invested. The time and money we've saved in the company especially after gaining a much clearer understanding of our customers' consumption habits, have been significant. The information was always there but we had no real way to process it before. After adopting Power BI, everything changed for the better.

Very simple to manage and adjust based on what we need so it fits our requirements really well.

One thing that could make it even better would be if the tool could recommend reports automatically based on the data that has been loaded.

“flexible dashboards”
Pros
Offers lots of dashboard customization options which makes it really useful for tracking KPIs the way users need. Its integration with other Microsoft products was also a big plus especially with tools like Microsoft CRM.
Cons
Some parts of the customization on specific functions were a bit complicated to understand although that may have been partly due to how the business originally structured certain records and data entry processes. It's definitely more effective when the underlying data infrastructure is set up properly, otherwise you may not get the full value from the product.

Pros

“Excellent Excel integration”
Pros
Its a perfect fit alongside Microsoft Excel since both work so well together and that makes day-to-day work much simpler. Another big advantage is how many different data sources it can connect to, including Google Analytics, Facebook, SQL, local data files, cloud-based files and plenty more. It's also free to use at the entry level and remains very affordable overall. On top of that, the visualization capabilities are genuinely impressive.
Cons
That said, like most tools in this space, it takes a fair amount of time to properly learn and master. Once you move beyond basic report creation, there's also a need to understand extra components such as Gateways and Report Server. DAX can also be challenging to work with and is not the simplest to understand language although with training and a bit of research, it becomes manageable.

“Custom dashboards”
Pros
One thing I really appreciate is how freely the dashboards can be built to match exactly what we need. It's simple to customize, helps a lot with data analysis and when I'm creating reports, filtering the information for a specific moment or need is very simple.
Cons
A downside is that there are times when the data or documents have to be updated manually before the dashboards show the right information.

“great for team collaboration”
Pros
It really shines when it comes to building visualizations and dashboards that make data much easier for others to understand. It also works really well for team collaboration and helps people make better use of their data once you get used to it. Being able to import different file types, clean and transform the data quickly and then turn it into real time reporting is a huge advantage for our teams.
Cons
There is definitely a learning curve so training is important and it can take a while to get comfortable with it. Having some Excel knowledge beforehand is also a big plus and makes the whole process easier to pick up.

“Easy to use”
Pros
I had to take over report building after the developer left the company and Power BI was pretty quick to learn. There's a lot of helpful information and documentation available which made it much easier to understand what I needed and make changes to the reports.
Cons
Refresh times can take a while depending on how large the databases are that feed the report. That said, it may have more to do with the company's infrastructure than with the software itself.

“quick insights”
Pros
This platform is a strong choice for understanding product and process insights across different industries. It saves a lot of time by pulling data together from multiple software tools. The platform also offers solid governance, detailed data preparation capabilities and NLP support which adds even more value.
Cons
Not the most cost effective solution and the training materials still need improvement. It would also help to include more real use case examples so users can better understand the system architecture and how to effectively use different solutions alongside Power BI.
