Once I enter the required data, it automatically tracks everything and fills in the stats for me.

Power BI is an incredibly powerful tool. With the right integrations in place, it can generate just about any report we need. Its flexibility is a big plus and I really appreciate how customizable it is and how well it connects with a wide range of other programs.

Cons

Getting started can be challenging especially when dashboards need to be built from the ground up. We also run into occasional issues with how data carries over and translates between different platforms.

Connecting to data sources can be challenging and I've also run into issues with random disconnections.

It's an excellent tool for reporting across multiple locations.

Among the analytics tools I've used, this is definitely one of the best. The cloud storage makes everything more convenient to work with and collaborating on reports and related tasks is very easy.

I haven't really run into any major issues with the tool although it can occasionally slow down a little when working with very large datasets.

Handling large data sets can be a challenge for the suite and that often leads to long loading times.

It fits in really well with other Microsoft products which makes everything feel more connected and convenient to use.

Tracking down certain data can be a bit challenging when it's buried under other information and it often takes a lot of clicking to get where you need to go.

Downloading information in Power BI is really easy and that's something I genuinely appreciate about using it.

I honestly don't have any complaints. I really enjoy using this software.

Once the data is set up properly, the dashboards are quick to tweak and expand sometimes directly in the browser which makes it easier to uncover new insights on the fly.

Cons

Working with the data itself can be a bit difficult because its language and structure itself isn't very easy to understand. For instance, if you want to conditionally show a date in a different format, you have to create a new measure using functions and syntax that are specific to Power BI.

Pros

This software gives you the flexibility to build very detailed and highly complex reports which is one of its biggest strengths.

Cons

Creating those more advanced reports usually takes a solid amount of SQL knowledge so there can be a steep learning curve if you do not have that experience.

Pros

It's a very capable tool and having Power Query built right in is a huge plus.

Cons

A few formulas, such as And/Or, don't take multiple arguments directly the way Excel does so you have to nest them instead which feels a bit overwhelming.

Power BI comes with excellent business data analysis tools that help us understand our performance in much more depth. The visualization dashboards are easy and make insights much clearer and easier to interpret. It also offers plenty of customization which lets us use it for analyzing different kinds of data based on our needs.

Cons

I haven't run into any issues with it so I don't really have any negatives to mention.

Getting started doesn't take much effort and it does a really good job pulling in data from Excel and SQL databases especially Microsoft SQL Server. Overall, it feels like a solid and capable product.

Cons

The part that takes more time is figuring out the pricing structure and how the licensing works since it can be a little confusing to fully understand.

Having everything I need visible at a quick glance makes it much easier to stay on top of things.

Figures are very sensitive to mistakes so the raw data has to be uploaded carefully to avoid problems in the reports.

Setting it up is easy and the interface has a polished look. The part I appreciate most though, is the pricing. It's simple to understand and very affordable.

Display quality doesn't feel quite as strong as what some other tools on the market offer.

Being able to create custom dashboards and display data in different ways from multiple sources has been one of the best parts of using it.

There were times when turning the idea I had in my head into something on the screen was challenging. Part of that came down to not being able to find the right learning resources for the specific task I wanted to complete. I may have just not come across them yet but I ended up relying on YouTube and similar sources since Power BI courses on platforms like Udemy often felt too broad.

It really shines when it comes to data visualization, integration and connectivity. It works especially well for advanced Excel users who want to bring together Excel files and SQL databases in one place. Compared with standard Excel charts, it offers a much more advanced and polished level of visualization.

Cons

Has a bit of a a learning curve and it can take some time for users to get comfortable especially when it comes to the more advanced features.

“Easy setup”

Pros

I really like the wide variety of visualizations it offers. The charts do a very good job of presenting data and information clearly and accurately. On top of that the interface is user friendly which helped me get comfortable with the tool in a short time.

Cons

Subscription price feels a little expensive to me although I do appreciate that there is a free version available which is definitely a nice bonus.

Pros

With a business background, using this program felt very approachable and it didn't take long to learn and become confident using it. It really brings together the best of both sides: accessibility for everyday users and strong, capable features when you need more power.

Cons

For some teams, depending on their work, this might not be the best solution as its mapping feature isn't the best on the market.
