“Deep customization for unique workflows”
Pros
Dashboard customization feels second to none. The getting-started tools make it possible for people with basic SQL knowledge or even none at all, to build simple reports without much trouble. In my view, there's no better option for serving as a central hub for KPI tracking across an entire company.
Cons
There's definitely a steep learning curve. Your imported data also needs to be clean, otherwise working with larger datasets can become difficult though that tends to be the case with most data visualization platforms.

“A builder's paradise for dashboards”
Pros
Building dashboards in Tableau is very easy. Plus it offers a wide range of connectors and the drag-and-drop functionality along with its various features makes data visualization work much simpler.
Cons
One issue we're dealing with is with data coming into IT Online from the database through a flow created in IT Online. When that flow fails, it doesn't show the exact reason and only gives a generic failed error message. It would be much more helpful if the specific error details were displayed.

After just a few hours of training, it becomes fairly manageable to use the tool and build dashboards.

“Visually engaging data at every turn”
Pros
Being able to turn raw data into clear, visually appealing dashboards has been a huge plus. It makes the information much easier for colleagues to read, follow and understand.
Cons
The training materials haven't been my favorite part. There are times when certain features feel confusing and it isn't always simple to track down a clear answer.

“KPIs presented with crystal clarity”
Pros
Being able to present the key information that matters most is a big plus and creating multiple dashboards makes it even more useful. It also does a really good job of showing KPI breakdowns clearly which makes comparing them much more practical.
Cons
One frustrating part is how long it takes for the generated information to refresh. In many cases, it took a full two days before the KPI data reflected the most current numbers.

“Speedy dashboards with occasional limits”
Pros
A big advantage of Tableau is how flexible the dashboard filtering can be. The information is clear, easy to present and simple to draw insights from. Its drag-and-drop interface also helps teams pull out useful data quickly and without much hassle.
Cons
One downside is that there are restrictions on the external images you can import into it workbooks. It also tends to slow down quite a bit when working with large, heavy tables.

“Rich connections but a tough climb”
Pros
One thing that worked really well with Tableau was how many other providers it connected with which made it really useful for bringing data together across the whole tech stack. It also let me import data from Excel and other file types without much trouble.
Cons
Getting started with it was pretty tough. The setup process and overall learning curve felt very difficult and the tool never came across as user friendly. Building dashboards and setting up real-time reporting took a lot of time and effort and I never really reached a point where it felt like I was using it anywhere close to its full potential.

“Reliable dashboards with custom touches”
Pros
Using Tableau every day has made it a key part of how I get my work done. The interface is well designed, it's simple to move around in and customizing views is very easy. I have come to depend on features like the daily subscription that sends my to-do list to my inbox each morning which helps me stay on top of everything and work more effectively.
Cons
