“Flexible dashboards and reports”
Pros
Having multiple dashboards available in one place works really well for me and I can filter the data and generate the reports I need based on my preferences.
Cons
I don't really have any complaints. The only thing I'd mention is that, possibly because of the user licensing, I hope I can create more filters whenever needed.

“comes with plenty of useful features”
Pros
Getting started with Tableau doesn't take much effort because the interface is user friendly and it works well on mobile too. It handles large volumes of data without slowing down dashboard performance which is a big plus. On top of that it comes with a lot of useful and resourceful features.
Cons
The biggest downside is the price which feels expensive. It also limits selection to a single value in some cases and parameters have to be updated manually whenever the data changes. Scheduling is missing and the data cleansing capabilities still need improvement.

“Good visuals that perform well”
Pros
It brings a lot to the table. Some of the biggest strengths are its impressive visual capabilities, user friendly design, strong performance, support for multiple data source connections, an active community and forum and mobile-friendly access.
Cons
It does have a few downsides though including pricing and some security concerns.

“Dashboards with clear information”
Pros
Tableau brings all of our metrics together and gives us a really strong way to visualize the data from multiple angles, with every data point presented in a lot of useful ways.
Cons
The only part that seems a little challenging is manipulating the data correctly. Since I don't use it often enough to become an expert, making even small changes isn't always easy.

“work for any team”
Pros
The software is very adaptable and gives businesses a broad range of options to work with. You can zero in on specific areas and targets, then apply those insights across other teams or departments in the company. It's also easy to understand and the dashboard performs well so it's accessible for users with different experience levels.
Cons
At times the software does lag and can be slow when updates are happening. There are also a lot of analysis options available which can feel a bit overwhelming or unnecessary for some users, depending on what the company actually needs.

“Feature rich dashboards”
Pros
Tableau comes with a wide range of capabilities for building advanced dashboards for analytics and reporting. The interface is pleasant to work with and the documentation is very detailed and helpful. It also offers plenty of functionality for data collection and preparation which adds a lot of value.
Cons
Getting familiar with everything can be difficult because it feels like a highly technical platform. Some features are not very user friendly especially for users who do not have an analytics background.

“Strong analysis but dashboards cost too much”
Pros
It is excellent for exploratory data analysis and it makes it possible to create really impressive visualizations. After you get familiar with how it works, exploring data and uncovering insights becomes much more natural and efficient.
Cons
Compared with other tools it is quite expensive and rolling it out across an entire company for dashboard use can be far too costly for startups. I am also not a big fan of it for dashboards since the discovery and navigation experience is not very welcoming for business users and dashboards can be difficult to find. On top of that building dashboards in it is less simple than it is in other platforms. While it can produce highly advanced dashboards, doing that takes significant time and expertise which many data users in a company may not have.

“Quick updates on your KPIs”
Pros
Handling 8,000 orders a month for a major telecommunications provider means I need current data at all times. My KPIs refresh every 15 minutes so I can quickly spot where action is needed and respond right away. The biggest advantages are the speed and how simply the reports can be adjusted to fit changing needs.
Cons
The visualization options still feel limited. We track several KPIs across different worksheets but there's no way to have them cycle through automatically.

“packed with good mapping tools”
Pros
Turning data, ideas and analysis into visually appealing dashboards is where Tableau really shines. The drag and drop functionality makes it very approachable to use and it feels especially innovative when working with maps and different geographic data layers across the globe.
Cons
There is very little to complain about with the app. The only minor issue that can be irritating is when using Excel spreadsheets as a data source since updates made in Excel sometimes do not sync properly with it.

“Great for analyzing pricing data”
Pros
Handling large datasets is where Tableau really shines. At my company, we use it to work through hundreds of thousands of orders and build a clear story around pricing analysis. It also helps turn all of those numbers into something meaningful so decision-makers can actually understand the trends and take action from them. I'd absolutely recommend Tableau to anyone looking for a strong data analysis tool.
Cons
One area that can be frustrating at times is creating calculations in the software. It would be much better if the designers could simplify that part and make it more user friendly.

“Bring all your data together”
Pros
It brings a lot to the table when it comes to simplifying work, automating tasks and turning data into clear visualizations. It makes information more accessible and helps organize and centralize everything so stakeholders across different departments can use it effectively. One big benefit is that it cuts down on duplicated effort and keeps everyone working from the same source of data.
Cons
Honestly there's not much to complain about. If I had to point to something, it would probably be the pricing and even that feels like a minor criticism.

“Good visuals with mapping features”
Pros
When it comes to statistical analysis and big data visualization, Tableau is really useful. It works especially well for geospatial analysis and I can connect directly to databases to pull data for reporting and exploration. The visuals and maps it creates look excellent and it also supports connecting data from a variety of sources which makes analysis much more flexible.
Cons
Even though it's one of the best tools out there for data visualization and geospatial analysis, the pricing can be pretty high for anyone trying to stay within a tight budget.

“Strong reporting with clear visuals”
Pros
Tableau has been a really strong option for reporting. Before switching, I was depending on spreadsheets and managing everything there was time-consuming and tiring. With Tableau, I can look at my data more clearly and create charts and graphs from it without much effort. Overall, it's efficient, user friendly and one of the most widely recognized reporting tools available, with plenty of integration options.
Cons
The biggest downside is the cost and it also feels somewhat limited in features when compared with other analytics tools. Some alternatives, including open-source options like R Shiny, offer a wider range of capabilities for presenting data visually in graphical formats.
