“Live reporting with strong visuals”
Pros
Getting started with Tableau didn't take long and becoming comfortable with it felt pretty natural thanks to the quality of the tutorials. It integrates well with most databases which makes working across different data sources much easier. The visualizations are very strong for uncovering insights and analyzing data and it's especially useful that reports update in real time whenever the underlying data changes.
Cons
Performance can slow down when report outputs are based on very large data sets and the licensing cost is on the higher side.

“Connects to databases without issues”
Pros
Connecting Tableau to databases was one of the most impressive parts of using it. No matter how large the dataset was, the platform stayed stable and performed consistently well.
Cons
Date handling wasn't very strong. I ran into problems with calculated fields that used dates and the date formatting would sometimes be inconsistent which created a lot of issues in those calculations.

“Good visuals no matter the platform”
Pros
Using Tableau has been really enjoyable. It comes with plenty of built-in libraries, the visual style feels warm and appealing and it works well across multiple platforms. I also appreciate how compatible it is with other environments and that it's mobile friendly which makes accessing dashboards much more convenient.
Cons
The only areas that feel a bit challenging are its overall comprehensiveness and the setup involved for enterprise-level installation which can take more effort to handle.

“Too complicated for teams to use”
Pros
The idea behind this software is really compelling and the goals and functionality make a lot of sense when they're used the way they're intended. In a business environment, it could be extremely valuable if it were more approachable and simpler to work with.
Cons
Using it feels overly complex and it's not user friendly at all. Because of that, it becomes nearly impossible for companies that don't have the time or budget to spend months training new employees just to get them up to speed.

“A good starting point with Tableau”
Pros
Being new to this product, I have still been able to get around it without much trouble. It feels approachable to navigate and I am looking forward to digging into more of what it can do.
Cons
Since numbers aren't really my strong suit, the chart-heavy side of it can feel a little intimidating at times.

“Tell stories with your data”
Pros
Tableau brings a lot of value when it comes to visualizing and interpreting data. Its charting features are especially useful for tracking trends over time and helping with future planning. Overall, it's a powerful platform with plenty of capabilities that can really help teams move their work forward.
Cons
Getting started with it can be a bit challenging. It's not the most user friendly tool right away so it takes some time and guidance to learn how to navigate it well.

“Affordable and packed with features”
Pros
Right away the strong feature set and budget-friendly pricing make this software stand out. The customer support has also been reliable and the platform is very user friendly. On top of that I appreciate how well it works on mobile devices.
Cons
One area that could be better is the refresh function. It doesn't update automatically and users still have to manually plug in data fields instead of having them auto-detected for visualization.

“Dashboards with helpful maps”
Pros
Dashboards perform really well, even when working with large datasets. The mapping capability is also excellent and does a very good job of displaying data geographically.
Cons
The downside is that the dashboard takes quite a while to load data at the beginning and there's no support for dynamic data loading.

“Present your data well”

One thing that really helps with Tableau is how it simplifies data management while making it much easier to present information clearly and effectively.

“Good visuals and dashboards together”
Pros
Creating visualizations in Tableau takes very little effort and the overall interface is simple to work with. Designing dashboards is easy as well which makes the whole process feel very user friendly.
Cons
It does have some limitations though. It doesn't support data modeling and features like conditional blocks and repeater tables cannot really be built in it.

“Simple tabs with useful reports”
Pros
Getting around the system is very easy. It gives you clear at-a-glance tabs so moving from one metric to another is quick and convenient. As a new user, that simplicity is a big reason I rate the product highly because I was able to teach myself how to use the tabs and filters without any trouble to pull the data I needed. I have noticed a bit of lag when information updates in it though that may just as easily be related to delays on our side based on the type of data we are requesting updates for.
Cons
One downside that comes to mind with it is the visual presentation. It is not as eye-catching as some other reporting or productivity tracking platforms. Compared with other systems I have used either as an end user or as an admin, I do not see the same level of charting or visual graphics. That said since it is still an excellent tool for reporting and tracking, you can always export the data and build your own charts from it. On our end It seems to update only once a day and while that may be a company-specific setting, it is definitely something worth checking to see whether more frequent updates can be configured.

“Strong analytics with good reporting”
Pros
Among the more established platforms out there, Tableau feels like a mature and well-developed option. If you work as a data engineer and already know some analytical languages, you can really get the most out of it. It integrates without much trouble, processes data quickly and once you begin working with Tableau, reporting and analysis become much more manageable.
Cons
It would be better if the platform had a stronger knowledge base and offered more learning resources before users fully move to it. A free trial along with sample datasets from different industries would help a lot. It should also include some commonly used features out of the box.
