“Dashboards with clear insights”
Pros
It is one of the strongest data visualization tools out there. It makes data analysis, dashboard building and report creation very easy. Turning raw data into visualizations is easy and even business users can work with the tool to explore data and pull out meaningful insights. On top of that its community regularly shares some really impressive dashboards.
Cons
The tool's performance especially when it comes to resource usage, still has room for improvement.

“Dashboards we count on regularly”
Pros
After more than a year of using Tableau, it has turned into a tool we genuinely depend on in our day-to-day work. One of the biggest advantages is how user friendly it is once you get into it and overall it's quite user friendly. Compared with other analytics platforms that feel overly complex, it doesn't take much time to pick up or start working with. At this point it would be hard to imagine managing without it.
Cons
It really shines when it comes to data visualization but it isn't without drawbacks. The interface can feel challenging at the beginning and some of the features are a bit confusing when you're first learning them. I'd definitely suggest spending time researching and understanding the product before committing especially since the pricing can be pretty expensive.

“Expensive licensing with limited connectors”
Pros
Tableau is a really strong tool especially when working with large datasets. It handles even terabytes of data very well and still keeps performance fast. The data visualization and metric reporting feel top-tier and the BI dashboards are definitely at an industry-standard level.
Cons
The biggest downside is the price since the licensing is very expensive. That makes it hard for SMBs to adopt. Another issue is that connectors are not available for every data source so data often has to be transformed first using code or another tool before it can be used in it.

“Versatile visuals for large datasets”
Pros
It can handle large amounts of data without trouble and the wide range of visualization options really makes it stand out.
Cons
Because it is so powerful and accepts data from many different inputs, it can get a bit confusing when information is placed in the wrong field.

“Strong dashboards with good visuals”
Pros
Among business intelligence platforms, Tableau stands out as one of the strongest options out there. The visual interface is polished and user friendly and creating dashboards is very convenient. Setting up alerts also works really well. On top of that the desktop version includes a strong set of features that covers most business needs.
Cons
There are still a few places where it could get better. Moving around between multiple sheets can feel tedious especially when you want to rearrange several sheets within the same workbook. Its Explorer could also use more functionality since many of the features available in Tableau Creator/Desktop are important for dashboard creation and should be included in the online version too. Another gap is the lack of direct integration with files stored in AWS S3 which would be very useful to have.

“Flexible reporting options”
Pros
There's a ton of flexibility in Tableau which is what I enjoy most. You can customize just about everything and once your data is structured the way you need it, all the interactions and visualizations are right there to work with. Pulling reports and applying filters is also really convenient which makes exploring the data much more efficient.
Cons
One challenge is making sure the data going in is actually accurate though that's not really software fault. If the source data is messy or incorrect, the results will reflect that. Keeping data clean and reliable before bringing it in is essential if you want the output to match expectations.

“Regular updates with strong dashboards”
Pros
Tableau is an excellent option for anyone working with data analysis and visualization. It gets regular updates and installing each new version has been very easy. Also it integrates to a broad mix of data sources including Excel files, Google Drive, SQL and more. On top of that the platform gives you plenty of flexibility to build many kinds of visualizations and perform a wide variety of calculations.
Cons
Coming from a background outside of data sources and visualization, the learning curve felt a bit steep and the interface was not immediately user friendly. It took some time to become comfortable with it and I still end up checking its documentation regularly. Even with that it's a very full-featured tool and a strong way to organize, prepare and share information across the company.

“Dashboards with strong connections”

There are not many downsides overall though I would appreciate more widget options. Setting up the geospatial features can also be challenging.

“Good visuals across all data”
Pros
Working with multiple data sources in one place has been a big advantage for us. Tableau's visualizations are really the standout feature and they do an excellent job of turning complex information into something much easier for non-technical people to understand. That ability to make data more digestible played a major role in our decision to go with this product.
Cons
The only downside I can point to is the cost. It can be fairly expensive especially for some companies.

“AI-driven dashboards that help”
Pros
The AI-powered data visualization is a standout and connecting to multiple data sources is pretty hassle-free. There's also plenty of flexibility when it comes to customization which makes it work well for different reporting needs.
Cons
The pricing is on the higher side compared to similar tools and it can take some time for new users to get comfortable because the learning curve is steeper.

“Good tools for data visualization”
Pros
Working with Tableau is very easy. It comes with plenty of data visualization features, manages data well and lets you present information in different ways. You can use pie charts, bar charts and other visual formats to view and understand the data clearly.
Cons
It works well overall but at times it takes longer than expected to process and load data.

“Clear reports all in one place”
Pros
Having all my data-heavy reports available in one place is really convenient and they're laid out in a way that's simple to read. It also handles multiple reports well, with each one able to include different categories of information.
Cons
The part I am not a fan of is how bulky the software feels. It can take up a fair amount of computer memory and it's sometimes slow to open and get going.

“Good visuals for every team member”
Pros
One thing I really appreciate about Tableau is how constantly the product keeps evolving and improving. It makes data profiling and visualization accessible even for regular users without deep technical skills. On top of that Ask Data is an excellent feature that helps business users create visualizations much more effectively.
Cons
Building out the data model can be pretty time-consuming. It also processes and returns query results line by line so larger queries can end up taking quite a bit of time.

“decent visuals for quick presentations”
Pros
Using the public version I have been able to upload data right into the platform, adjust the fields and create some really nice visualizations. It works well for presentations and is simple enough to use when the project doesn't need anything too complex.
Cons
One limitation with the public version is that you cannot save your work outside the platform. There are also quite a few advanced features and those can be difficult to understand or use.

“Dashboards with useful information”
Pros
Tableau brings data collection and visualization together in one dashboard that's simple to understand. It works well whether you need a big-picture summary or want to dig into the finer details and both can be done without much trouble.
Cons
Things can get a bit confusing if you're not familiar with how the datasets are structured or the naming conventions being used but that feels more like a business-side issue than a problem with the software itself.

“Software connects without issues”
Pros
Working with Tableau alongside other tools feels much more convenient because its integration with different software makes switching between platforms a lot simpler during day-to-day tasks.

“Great visuals but frustrating delays”
Pros
Tableau works well for turning data into visuals especially when tracking KPIs, C.SAT survey results and employee rankings.
Cons
The downside is that data loading can take quite a while and you often have to wait for updates to stop before using filters. On top of that some CRM users cannot see the search filters at all.

Pros
Tableau does a really good job of turning data into visuals that are easy to understand and that makes it much quicker to make informed decisions.

“Popular dashboards that are easy to use”
Pros
Putting together my own dashboards in Tableau is very easy and the interface is simple to work with. Its popularity is also a big plus because almost everyone knows the tool so it's easy to talk things through and share ideas with friends.

Once you need more customization to fit your specific business needs, the cost starts to climb and can become very expensive.
