Runway turns written descriptions into short video clips. A prompt can set out what should appear in the scene, how it should look, or what should happen. When the first result is off direction, the prompt can be adjusted and another clip generated. This is used for concepts, social media videos, advertising, and other short-form content.

A single image can be given movement instead of remaining a static visual. The image acts as the source, while the prompt describes the motion or changes that should take place. Product visuals, illustrations, and concept artwork can be used in this process.

Runway can rework footage to give it a different visual treatment while retaining elements of the original recording. The source clip is uploaded, and the intended changes are described in a prompt. This allows teams to produce variations without creating entirely new footage.

Act-Two uses a recorded performance as the basis for animating a character. The performer’s recording supplies the movement, dialogue, and facial expressions, which are then transferred to the character. This allows the performance and final character footage to be created separately.

Runway Workflows lets several generation and editing actions be arranged into a reusable sequence. Instead of repeating the same steps for each project, the workflow can be run again with new inputs. It is designed for production tasks that follow a recurring process.
