It works well for reporting and gives the management team the information they need.

Cons

Learning how to use the platform took quite a bit of effort for me because the interface doesn't feel very simple. The overall system also comes across as outdated, almost like software designed decades ago.

A dependable choice for large companies and keeping the data in the cloud makes it really convenient to pull up on other devices, like tablets during client meetings.

Cons

For someone new to this kind of platform, the learning curve can feel pretty steep. Once I became familiar with it though, it turned into a very effective cloud-based solution for identifying trends and analyzing data sets.

It comes with plenty of features which is a big plus. I also appreciate that it can scale alongside a business and lets companies add more functionality whenever they need it.

Cons

Adjusting to the platform wasn't very simple in my experience and understanding all of its quirks took time. The workflow felt complicated overall and the pricing also seemed fairly expensive to me.

“fantastic graphs and precise reporting”

Pros

Running IT operations and integrations is a lot more manageable with this tool. It lets me bring together CRM data and IT data cleanly, then report on everything with a really high level of accuracy. The graphs look excellent too and there are plenty of functions along with different ways to display and break down the data.

Cons

The setup process can become fairly involved especially when integrations are included although that's common with many analytics platforms. Even so, considering the overall pricing, it still feels like a strong value.

“Amazing analytics and collaboration”

Pros

Built on a cloud deployment model, this software gives us real-time analytics and supports ad-hoc queries really well. The collaboration tools are also a strong point and make working with others much more effective.

Cons

Deployment wasn't especially simple in my experience but with a skilled IT partner involved, the solution becomes much more worthwhile. The cost, however, does feel a bit high.

Pros

Within a short time, you can have applications up and running that help improve business performance without needing to spend heavily on infrastructure. It also adjusts really well to mobile devices which makes it even more practical to use.

Cons

There honestly aren't many major drawbacks for me. The main limitation is the dependence on a stable internet connection since cloud storage and overall performance rely heavily on staying connected.

Pros

Single Sign-On fits in well with the existing IT landscape and the platform benefits from the strong data security foundation inherited from IT BW. The live connection to HANA/BW is also a real advantage.

Cons

The ETL middleware still feels like one of the weaker areas to me. Building models is fairly easy but mainly when the data has already been cleaned and prepared beforehand.

It gets the job done but the software can be pretty confusing when you're first introduced to it. The whole interface feels dated, almost like it hasn't been updated since the 90s.

Cons

Running reports can feel frustrating at times because the interface isn't especially simple and completing tasks often requires more steps than I expect.

Pros

Keeping track of sales is easy and it also helps monitor employee performance effectively. Creating financial statements is convenient and the interface looks good overall.

Cons

For some users on our side, the ERP interface can still feel difficult to navigate. More customization around colors, fonts and the overall appearance would make the experience much better.

Pros

Right away, the planning menu and the user-friendly interface make this tool pleasant to work with. It offers a full Business Intelligence and analytics experience and the dashboards, views and charts look really polished and visually appealing.

Cons

One thing it still lacks is some functionality that other BI platforms already offer especially direct connectors to cloud data sources like Google Analytics and Facebook. Latency can also be an issue and final users may notice the slowdown.

This is a really effective tool for analyzing data especially when it comes to core information and it presents everything in a very polished way for decision-makers and people in charge.

Cons

Getting started was fairly challenging because it took time to understand how our company data needed to be prepared and formatted to meet the quality level required for creating the kind of polished, professional dashboard overviews shown in the samples.

Pros

Putting together graphics, tables and story-style reports for cloud distribution has been really convenient and there's a wide selection of visual options to work with.

Cons

Building more advanced calculations is challenging. Most of the calculation tools feel fairly basic and it's hard to figure out how to create complex aggregated calculations.

Pros

Having one all-in-one solution that works for both on-premise and cloud databases is a big advantage. My previous software was Lunira and compared to that, this feels like the IT solution of the future.

“powerful mapping and story tools”

Pros

The drag-and-drop workflow makes things feel very simple and having all the built-in algorithms available in one place is a big plus. It also works really well with ESRI so handling geo-coordinates is easy. On top of that, putting together a story or building a data model is quite convenient and user-friendly.

Cons

Performance is where it falls short. Loading just 7k rows took several tries which was frustrating and applying a filter to those same records made the dashboard update slower than expected. That part definitely wasn't very impressive.

Pros

One feature that really helps is the map layer option especially when trying to analyze facts that don't seem related at first. For a cloud-based application, it also comes with a great set of useful features.

Cons

The chart selection feels fairly limited right now since only basic chart types are available and more variety would be helpful. Data confidentiality is still something to think about with a cloud-based application and a BW live connection could potentially affect performance.

“Best data source connectivity”

Pros

It connects well with a range of data sources, including iSeries, Netezza, SAP HANA and cloud applications. Having integration across iSeries, Netezza, SAP HANA and cloud applications is a real plus.

Cons

Trial version has noticeable functionality limits, storage is restricted and the cartography features are weak, for example, drive-time mapping could be much better.

Pros

Having it backed by SAP HANA and hosted in the cloud is a huge plus. It makes analytics really convenient across different laptops or computers and sharing results with a distributed team works very well.

Cons

One thing I wish it supported is sharing links with people outside the organization without having to add them as named users. Adobe Creative Cloud and Office 365 already offer that so I was hoping to see the same capability here.

Getting started with the product felt very easy and the interface was quite simple to work with. I spent some time going through the training materials and whenever I got stuck, the customer support team was excellent at pointing me in the right direction. The reporting options feel incredibly flexible, to the point where it seems like the only real limit is my own imagination. On top of that, the pricing feels very reasonable.

Cons

I'm really waiting for the improved API features to be released since I'll need that before the product feels completely functional for my specific needs.

Pros

Being able to create web presentations without installing any software is the biggest advantage. It's simple to use and the connectivity works really well.

Cons

It could be even better with support for scripting buttons and more dynamic functionality. Even so, it still feels like a powerful tool.

Moving data analysis to the cloud is a really good step. It helps customers access data at runtime without much hassle and it's also convenient for developers when creating stories. The connect mode model has worked well too and has been quite effective.

Cons

One limitation is the lack of direct connection or real-time support for different databases. There also aren't many editing options available at the data level in BOC. On top of that, better graphics and visual presentation would make it more useful and the overall user-friendliness still needs improvement.
