“great fit for my setup”
Pros
It requires a hardwired internet connection and a fairly high spec laptop which hasn't been an issue for me at all.
Cons
It only seemed to work consistently with certain internet providers, such as Cox Communications. At times, it also had trouble connecting properly to the server.

This could have a better subscription model.

“reliable enterprise telephony powerhouse”
Pros
Honestly, it stands out for its solid set of advanced telephony capabilities, including call control, voice and video conferencing, mobility and more which can handle the varied communication needs of large enterprises. Another big plus is its reliability and stability, helping keep downtime to a minimum while delivering consistently solid service quality.
Cons
One con is that configuration and management are a bit more complex compared to some other vendors.

“centralized user management win”
Pros
Having one console to handle user management is by far the simplest approach. It also works very well with different voice software platforms and integrates without much trouble.
Cons
The console itself is user friendly but the connection between creating users and assigning phone IDs can still be hard to figure out.

“Solid integrations”
Pros
Built with business use in mind, this platform feels very polished and corporate focused. The audio quality is consistently very good and the product has clearly improved a lot over the years. Its integration with Cisco UCCX and Finesse is a big plus for contact centers especially for intelligent call routing and multichannel support. Implementation is simple and overall it's a dependable solution for enterprise environments.
Cons
Its licensing tiers can be a little confusing to understand at times. Support contracts also feel somewhat expensive on certain occasions.

“great conferencing tools”
Pros
At around $20 a month, it delivers a reliable web conferencing platform along with admin tools that are simple to use.
Cons
Each license feels somewhat pricey especially since it only includes the basic feature set.

“excellent voice quality over VPN”
Pros
One thing that really stands out is how impressive the voice quality is even when connected through VPN. It also lets us use the IP phone application on a desktop or laptop which works well as a softphone.
Cons
Only problem is that when using the softphone, the application can freeze if the headphones are switched.

“clear calls”
Pros
Multi party conferencing works really well, the voice quality stays clear without distortion and the platform feels highly reliable and secure.
Cons
This is a solid piece of software overall though there are times when the technical support isn't quite up to the expected standard.

“Everything is overly complicated”
Pros
Something it did have going for it was the Cisco name behind it which gave it strong backing and a lot of credibility.
Cons
In the end though, it was far too complicated to manage. The system felt too difficult to figure out and it seemed outdated compared to other options.

“simple controls”
Pros
Its versatility is the biggest advantage for us. It supports every protocol we need and connects well with third party solutions. Creating policies is very easy and user management is much simpler thanks to the LDAP integration.
Cons
Upgrading the software and IOS has become harder than before. Also, versions 12 and 14 no longer support perpetual licensing and I believe that will impact smaller customers and make things more limiting going forward.

“voicemail to email works perfectly”
Pros
Everything about it feels great and its simple to use and having voicemails delivered right to email is something I really appreciate.
Cons
Honestly, I don't have any complaints here. I'm a big fan of both the phones and the overall system.

“Webex makes meetings better”
Pros
Webex is easily my favorite part of this platform. It works a lot like Zoom but the team behind this has managed to make it feel even better overall.
Cons
One thing that really needs improvement is the recording feature. It would be much better if every participant could record instead of only the host or if there were at least a way to save the conference because once you close it, everything is lost.

“powerful APIs”
Pros
Once it is fully configured, it's extremely reliable. We ran it on prem and never really had to worry about outages or instability. It offers a huge range of functionality even though we only ended up using a small portion of what it can do. The APIs are also very useful if you want to automate tasks or make programmatic changes to ring groups, hunt groups, round robin settings and more. There's a lot packed into it although it definitely takes time to learn all the features.
Cons
The UI looks outdated and doesn't seem especially well designed. Compared with modern platforms that have cleaner layouts and make features easier to locate, it comes across as laggy even if it still gets the job done. This has plenty of room to improve the overall look and feel and make navigation more user friendly.

“host profiles save time”
Pros
Managing a large number of hosts takes much less time with this. Using host profiles in this app lets you create a profile once and apply it across other hosts which really speeds things up.
Cons
A downside is that if there's a bug in the host profile, it gets pushed to all the hosts using it. Because of that, you have to be very careful when creating and reviewing a host profile.

“Packed with useful feature”
Pros
It pretty much covers everything. If there's something you need to accomplish, this can handle it and it's incredibly dependable.
Cons
Where it gets tough is the complexity and the interface. I really wish they offered a UCM Lite version with most of that flexibility hidden or disabled.

“reliable call control benefits”
Pros
Managing multiple phones across our company is very simple with this product. It brings a lot of advantages when it comes to handling both incoming and outgoing calls.
Cons
The initial office setup felt like it took forever and without clear step by step instructions, we never would have been able to get it working even if everything works well now.

“amazing unified communications hub”
Pros
One of the biggest advantages is that it can register virtually any type of phone, including third party devices. It also offers a wide range of features that make it easier for users to join or leave the company as needed. On top of that you can bring in collaboration tools, video conferencing, voicemail and more, all within the same integrated platform.
Cons
Some traditional PBX functions are missing out of the box although they can still be added through third party development.

“solid platform”
Pros
Built very much with network teams in mind, CallManager covers the core features you'd expect from a call control server and is easy to administer from a networking standpoint. The platform feels reliable, performs consistently and phone programming is also very simple to handle.
Cons
Upgrades can be a bit frustrating and support for certain devices can be hit or miss. It works best when you stay fully within the Cisco ecosystem but it's not the strongest option if you need broader integrations. Reporting and call detail information can also be harder to dig through unless you have some kind of front end tool in place.
