Getting a virtual phone number online is quick and easy even when you're outside the USA.

Cons

Forwarding calls to another number outside the USA has been a bit difficult for me and I'm still having trouble getting it set up.

My number transfer got stuck because of a mistake from the new carrier and it PJ from support was the one who truly stepped in and helped sort it out. PJ took the issue seriously, dug into the real cause and explained what was happening clearly enough that I could pass it along to Visible. I'm pretty sure that insight is what finally got them to admit the delay was on their end and complete the port. PJ honestly made the whole transfer successful. Beyond that, my husband and I were extremely happy with it while we were overseas. The service worked flawlessly by sending us emails whenever calls or texts came in on our US numbers and the pricing was unbelievably low for everything included. It kept our numbers active so we could reactivate them once we got back to the US and it was also incredibly useful for receiving authentication codes and handling business online from abroad. Really a fantastic service and I'm grateful to the whole team especially PJ. They absolutely deserve to do well.

I genuinely didn't have any complaints about it.

Pros

Being able to check voicemails and text my family while I'm overseas has been really useful.

Cons

The downside is that too many spam calls still make it into my voicemail which is pretty frustrating to deal with.

Needing a U.S. phone number for certain accounts comes up pretty often and it lets me handle that requirement without any trouble.

Only downside is that I have to go check my text messages separately since they don't show up alongside my other messages.

Honestly getting a number set up and ready to use takes less than five minutes and the whole process feels very simple and secure. The service is excellent and there are plenty of options to choose from.

The caller ID feature was a bit confusing. At times, it wasn't clear whether the incoming call was from a Tossable number or just a regular call.

Getting started was simple since porting my number over to Tossable Digits didn't take much effort. The app also makes it convenient to keep in touch, reply to calls and messages and stay on top of everything no matter where I am.

It's interface is decent but I'd really like a more convenient way to block spam messages.

Being able to keep my original North American phone number has been really helpful since it prevents issues with banking and makes it easier for people to reach me.

One downside is that I don't get SMS verification codes from my Canadian bank.

It's been really useful being able to keep my imported phone number. It also works well for password resets which is a big plus. On top of that the text to email feature delivers messages instantly.

Transferring the number takes quite a while and the whole process feels like a hassle. I'm not sure what would make it simpler but it was more frustrating than I expected. I was also disappointed that the number can only receive texts and not send them.

Moving to a new country felt a lot more manageable because of this service. I didn't want to give up my old number since we'll eventually be moving back and all of my accounts are tied to that number. Keeping it active has been really important for logging in to those accounts and adding my new number when needed.

One issue I've run into is that one time passcodes from some websites don't always come through. Most of the time they do but every now and then I either never receive them or they show up much later than expected.

Having the option to port out my number is something I really appreciate especially when a full cell phone plan just isn't necessary or practical.

On iOS, launching the app stops any music or podcast that's already playing which is frustrating.

When I relocated to Germany, I came across this and gave it a shot because I've had the same phone number since I was 16 and really didn't want to give it up during the move. It's been incredibly helpful to have. A lot of companies send text verification codes and every now and then I also need to call my bank. It lets me do both which has made the transition much easier.

It's con is that placing a necessary phone call can get pricey. That said since I don't have to do it very often, the cost is manageable for me.

No matter where I travel in the world, I don't have to deal with changing my U.S. phone number. Being able to send texts and receive calls internationally has been really useful.

Something that really works well is how flexible it is. I can route calls to different numbers or even to email and the email notifications are really useful too.
