“all-in-one operations powerhouse”
Pros
Having everything in one place is Aerotrac's biggest advantage. Its full functionality really stands out because it can manage nearly every part of the business under one roof and that's easily its strongest selling point.
Cons
Once you really know your way around the system, this becomes less of a problem. But during the learning phase, there are far too many steps involved just to complete fairly simple tasks. The Project Builder is a good example.. getting to the stage where you can actually create projects feels unnecessarily drawn out. That process should be simplified a lot and it would be even better if it were moved into the main Aerotrac program to cut down on the long wait times.

“Essential for daily operations”
Pros
After 9 years of using this software, I've watched it develop into something that has become increasingly important to how we run and manage the business every day. As our company has grown and matured, Tracware has been very supportive making sure the software keeps evolving at the right pace and giving us the tools we need to manage all of our processes and systems effectively. The engineer job scanning is especially useful since it provides instant updates on the progress of customer units and makes overall oversight very simple.
Cons
I don't have any major complaints about the system overall. Whenever we've identified an area that needed to improve to keep up with industry standards and match our requirements, Aerotrac has responded quickly and adapted accordingly.

“Detailed reporting and traceability”
Pros
The material traceability features are very useful and the reports provide a strong level of detail.
Cons
It's fairly simple to use and using it regularly definitely helps. The supplier audit feature though, feels too complicated so our company no longer uses it although it can be turned off.

“workshop and parts control”
Pros
Handling workshop projects has been really helpful and the parts management side works well too. Re-ordering parts is also a useful feature and makes staying on top of inventory much more manageable.
Cons
The calibration module feels a little buggy to use and not having access to the Quality module is definitely a limitation.

“Smart ERP for aviation teams”
Pros
Running XS Aviation with Aerotrac has worked out really well for us. We use it as our ERP system across sales, purchasing, stock management and even as our main CRM tool. As an aircraft spare parts trader, we've found it to be a cost-effective platform but still very capable and intelligent. One thing that has helped a lot is how customizable it is since different staff members can have it tailored to the functions they actually need, while departments still stay connected and communicate properly. It was also simple for our team to learn and we were able to build our staff CPD around the system without much trouble. Another big plus is that the Tracware Ltd management team genuinely listens to customer feedback and uses that input to keep improving the product for everyone.
Cons
Whenever we've asked for feature improvements, the management and IT team have either taken those requests seriously or communicated clearly about the current workaround, existing solution or planned updates.

“Better repair tracking and output”
Pros
Work moves through each department really efficiently in the system. With just a few clicks, it's simple to see exactly where a repair is within the company. It has cut down the amount of admin time our engineers spend which has helped us increase the number of repairs we can complete.
Cons
A few of the selling and buying price settings can be tricky to configure correctly.

“powerful for engineering oversight”
Pros
Coming to Aerotrac after working with several other systems, it initially felt a bit overwhelming because there were so many screens to move through just to complete a single task. After spending more time with it though, I got used to the layout and became comfortable managing the parts of the system I'm responsible for. In my role as Chief Engineer, my direct use is fairly limited anyway since a lot of the day-to-day work is passed on to experienced team members within the company.
Cons
One area that still feels very awkward is assigning and picking parts to a job. The process is difficult and there are times when it's not even clear whether the part has actually been picked against the job or not. The workflow seems to depend heavily on a middle person to review the material selection and a stores person to confirm the parts are physically available. It also doesn't provide feedback to the user when parts have been ordered which would be a very useful update. On top of that, the Configuration Status sections are difficult to arrange in ATA order across all aircraft components and that makes quick information lookup harder than it should be.

“Solid routing and work order setup”
Pros
Getting the routes and work orders set up is pretty simple and they really act as the backbone of the whole process moving through the shop.

“all-in-one aviation control”
Pros
Across the business, Aerotrac plays a big role in just about everything we do. We rely on it for aircraft maintenance tracking and forecasting under Part M, quoting, manpower planning and maintenance task tracking for Part 145. It also supports customer estimates during maintenance work which helps keep things organized from start to finish. On top of that, we use it to manage all of our aircraft upgrade and modification programs, including production control of parts under our Part 21G. The biggest bonus is that everything connects through to invoicing so all the related costs are pulled in automatically for the customer invoice.
Cons
Getting useful data out of Aerotrac definitely requires a lot of upfront planning. There is no getting around the fact that it demands a serious investment of time at the beginning. That said once our business fully understood the value of putting in that effort and setting things up properly, the payoff turned out to be very significant.

“Powerful aviation management suite”
Pros
Aerotrac does a really good job of bringing aviation maintenance and management together in one place. It's especially strong when it comes to forecasting and overall management and the reporting section offers a wide range of detailed options.
Cons
Navigating the software doesn't always feel very simple and it could use more flexibility. For instance there's no convenient way to mass-select items when you need to update or delete them.

“helpful project builder support”
Pros
The functionality has been really solid and the Aerotrac team even went the extra mile to set up a project builder that helps CRS stay on top of seat set repairs.
Cons
One thing that still needs improvement is job tracking based on how many days a unit has been onsite. If we're working toward a 15-day target, I'd like Aerotrac to help manage and monitor that repair timeline throughout the full 15 days.

“Strong traceability across teams”
Pros
Across our organization, this software gives us an impressive level of traceability between departments especially when it comes to inventory and project history or current status. Most questions from customers or internal staff can be answered quickly with just a few clicks or simple key entries. Aerotrac's support team has also been consistently helpful and willing to spend the time needed to sort out system issues or answer questions properly.
Cons
That said we still have to rely on separate software or spreadsheets for parts of accounting and finance, quality assurance, production scheduling and clear asset management visibility for items used in sales or rentals. Even so, Aerotrac remains the main database we depend on to pull the data that feeds those other tools.

“better scheduling, limited exchanges”
Pros
Right away, we noticed a boost in productivity and sales invoicing. It also simplifies repair scheduling and gives the entire team a clear view of the full picture.
Cons
At the same time it feels limited when it comes to handling rotable exchanges and loans. Because of that, we still have to manage the financial side of those transactions in separate spreadsheets.

“Reliable forecasting and trusted data”
Pros
One of the biggest advantages for us is that it gives us the tools we need to forecast and quote jobs for customers, instead of only looking at costs after everything is done. The diary and memopad features are also really useful because they help us share information clearly across a job, an invoice or even a specific part. More than anything, the system has been dependable and the data it produces is something we can genuinely rely on.
Cons
From time to time user mistakes and simple typing errors can be awkward to fix. That said I can see how that also helps protect the reliability and integrity of the data the system returns.

Pros
As our company has expanded, Aerotrac has kept up with us. We've been able to add more features and start using different parts of the program over time as our needs have grown.

Pros
Right from the start, Aerotrac has been very simple to use and pretty self-explanatory. The company is also really proactive about asking for feedback and making improvements which is good to see. It works especially well when bringing new starters into the company.
