useful features and quick learning

Pros

AkitaBox has been a really valuable tool for our organization overall. It doesn't take long to get comfortable with and the system includes solid features that have been very helpful for our work.

Cons

The mobile app isn't nearly as helpful as the desktop version and feels more difficult to use especially since it doesn't work very well with Apple products. I also wish the platform had a built-in way to track projects. On top of that, the back-end side of AkitaBox feels like it could use some updating.

fantastic support and strong results

Pros

Getting our team up and running on the platform took very little effort and we were able to start uploading information right away. Our client has been very pleased with the results so far especially as we support them in improving their facilities. On top of that, the support team from Akita has been outstanding throughout the process.

Cons

It really depends on the user but for some people the learning curve can feel a little steep and they may need some training before they fully adapt to the software. For others though, the overall setup and approach feel fairly simple.

asset lookup with helpful photos

Pros

Searching for assets works really well since you can pull them up by asset number or just enter the location. For most assets, there's also a photo available which makes it much easier to confirm you're looking at the right thing.

Cons

I'm still not sure whether there are any videos or guided resources available to improve the user experience and a tutorial showing where to find useful pages would help. A more precise interface would also make locating assets a bit more efficient.

Access setup needs work

Pros

At least I was eventually able to log in and get my work done as an employee.

Cons

The amount of time it took to get access was frustrating. Having to go through multiple steps to get in also didn't work properly for some reason.

Pros

The software feels well designed and simple to use. The part I appreciate most is how AkitaBox actually listens to feedback and makes changes to support the needs and requests we bring up.

Cons

Pros

Adding new assets to a building is quick and simple which makes the process really efficient.

Simple ticket tracking workflow

Pros

Getting around the system feels very simple, from organizing categories to searching records and documenting service tickets.

Cons

powerful mapping and usability

Pros

Overall this platform is very user-friendly and the asset placement mapping feature is one of the best I've come across.

Cons

A couple of things still get in the way: I can't drop a pin at a specific location when creating a service request or work order and there's no option to move assets to another building without deleting them and setting them up again.

Fantastic customer support

Pros

One of the best parts of using AkitaBox has been the customer service. [sensitive content hidden] has been absolutely phenomenal!!

Cons

One limitation is that work orders can't be searched by their work order number.

all-in-one tool for every need

Pros

Having everything in one platform has been a big advantage for us. It covers proactive work, reactive issues and capital planning needs so we can stay in a single software program instead of jumping between different tools.

Cons

The search experience is something that could be better. There isn't an internal "Back" button so each time you return to a search, it starts again at the top of the sort order.

fantastic floor plan visibility

Pros

Moving over to AkitaBox turned out to be the right call for our team. Our users really enjoy having access to the floor plans and they also appreciate how simple the platform is to use. On top of that, the staff has been accommodating and very pleasant to work with based on our needs.

Cons

The one thing that would make it even better is having a mobile app available for our maintenance and facilities team.

Flexible buildings and floorplans

Pros

Being able to work with buildings that can be updated along with their floorplans is a really valuable feature.

Faster work orders with asset photos

Pros

Sorting work orders by each worker's strengths is really simple and being able to attach photos to assets has saved a lot of time when trying to understand recurring issues.

Cons

A feature that lets the program open the camera directly while working on a Microsoft product would help.

One of the best parts is how well everything is organized especially being able to see all of my tasks in one place at the same time.

Having everything in one place and being able to use it without much hassle has been a big plus. It's very user-friendly and keeping a full database of information in a single spot makes things much more efficient.

Cons

Mobile access still needs improvement. A true app for users would make a big difference because the mobile site really isn't enough when you're out in the field trying to get work done.

Helpful portal and learning center

Pros

Using this software has been really simple and I appreciate that our students and staff have more than one way to submit service requests, whether through the portal or by scanning QR codes. The learning center has also been a big plus, with plenty of articles and videos that help me understand the system better and get the most value out of it.

Cons

A simpler way on the admin side to pull reports showing open work orders by employee would be good. It's possible that feature already exists and I just haven't come across it yet.
