FMIS Features
Equipment/Asset Details
This feature establishes complete asset records by permitting the setup of configurable fields based on the type of asset and holding multiple attachments like warranty and insurance papers. New records are formally created upon item intake through goods receipt, non-PO receipt, or a barcoding audit. All assets are organized using a multi-level location hierarchy and support exact bin level allocation for storage tracking.
Maintenance
FMIS software helps manage all scheduled and unscheduled services. It creates full preventative schedules that run automatically based on meter readings or preset dates. The system allows staff to define specific tasks, the necessary parts, and any required third party purchasing. Work is assigned through the automatic generation of maintenance work orders or reminders, which is supported by defined work order routing and complete parts control.
Lifecycle Management
Lifecycle management tracks the entire history of an asset from its initial creation. It records every major status change, including warranty status, scheduled maintenance, repair, assign, loan, transfer, and replace actions. The process is maintained by recording physical counts or audits to verify data accuracy, along with tracking all other asset-related events.
Equipment Loans
This control function governs the temporary assignment of equipment within the organization, which allows the precise allocation of individual assets to specific projects or departments. It provides tools to monitor return dates and flag overdue loans, which can be filtered by location or other criteria. Loan activity is managed using a visual calendar view that also confirms equipment availability at any site.
Reporting
FMIS ensures data usability by making all internal documents and reports completely and easily customizable for specific management insights. Standard base reports can be copied and changed, then directly linked to automated business processes using workflows. The reporting function offers quick access to detailed information and summaries through dashboards and business intelligence tools.

“feature-rich but restrictive data fields”
Pros
In my opinion the wide array of functional features and the comprehensive reporting capabilities the system provides and I can effortlessly add, remove, or modify assets while every modification is recorded in an Audit Log. Also I can run Actual and Forecast Depreciation calculations to support forward-looking planning.
Cons
However I find that the data fields impose a severe character limit which makes it challenging when I need to include explanatory notes because they are forced to be truncated.

“Efficient and understand assets”
Pros
I find it very easy to grant and configure access permissions and it's also interactive for me to track and follow assets as they move through the system.
Cons
No problems to report while using the platform but I did notice that some of the out-of-the-box summary reports tended to be overly dense with data although I was able to produce customized reports that suited our needs without too much trouble.

“Creates my entries and tracks assets”
Pros
What I like most about this tool is that it automatically generates the journal entries I need for my primary accounting software while also allowing me to monitor and manage my asset records.
Cons
I wish the process for modifying asset information were more intuitive because at present updating even a simple field--say a title that is merely a yes/no option requires navigating through multiple separate screens and as a result I find myself clicking into three different areas just to change a single piece of information which is unnecessarily time-consuming and difficult.
