5.0

flexible across every device

Pros

Using GageList has been very simple and the cross-platform functionality between devices has been a big advantage. It works really well on the floor with a phone or tablet which makes day-to-day use much more convenient.

Cons

At this point we really have not run into any actual downsides with the system. The only thing worth mentioning is that it is cloud-based and billed as an annual subscription which feels more like a preference issue than a real con.

Pros

Getting around is simple and it makes keeping track of devices really convenient.

Cons

One limitation is that I can't edit the assignee section to add people. It looks like that requires authorized access.

4.0

affordable setup and solid start

Pros

Compared with other options this one is much more affordable and getting it installed was simple.

Cons

Usability could be better and I'd really appreciate more customization options. It would also help to have a way to print a blank calibration work order that my techs can take on-site, fill out and leave with the customer.

Handy gauge tracking

Pros

Keeping tabs on which gauges we have and where each one is located is very convenient with this software. It's simple to use and makes day-to-day tracking much more manageable.

Cons

The mobile app still needs some improvement. If I change my settings preferences on the desktop version, those updates should really sync over to my phone as well.

Custom features that deliver

Pros

Having all the existing features in place, plus the extra custom ones we asked for, has been the biggest benefit and has made the software extremely useful for us.

Cons

At this point we're still working through everything the platform offers since we're gradually putting the full system together.

5.0

cost-saving web access win

Pros

Switching over from Gage Pack ended up saving our company a lot of money. That software was far more expensive especially once multiple seats were needed. With GageList, we can have multiple users and only pay for what we actually use. I really appreciate that the pricing is based on the number of gages we manage instead of charging a big flat fee whether you have 10 gages or 1000. Another huge benefit is that it's web-based so I can log in from any computer. With Gage Pack, you had to be at the specific computer where the software was installed. Now I can even access it from home which is extremely helpful if I have to miss work but still need to check our gages and reach out to employees who need to complete calibrations.

Cons

One thing I still have not been able to sort out is the email notification setup for gages that are coming due. At the moment, I still have to review upcoming calibrations myself and then manually email the right people to make sure the work gets done. I believe the feature exists but I have not been able to get email alerts for either coming-due or overdue gages.

Helpful alerts and quick overview

Pros

The notifications and at-a-glance layout make it simple to see equipment and tools quickly.

Cons

Logging in can be frustrating when the security codes take too long or never arrive and it would be better if maintenance were separated from calibration.

5.0

clean layout and fast audits

Pros

Thanks to the clean and simple layout it's incredibly fast to search for what you need and generate reports for audits or reviews. The mobile app is a total game changer in terms of usability and overall value. Having the ability to check a gauge directly on the factory floor and instantly verify its calibration status gives us quick confidence that everything is running smoothly.

Cons

One thing I'd still like to see is more control over the fields in the gage descriptions. There are options we don't use as a company, like specific manufacturers, acquisition dates, cost and similar details. Having the ability to customize that screen, make it smaller and organize the information shown would save time and also help avoid people entering incorrect data in the wrong tabs.

Powerful features and handy dashboard

Pros

This product is incredibly easy to get started with and offers plenty of built-in functionality. The dashboard is well-organized making it simple and convenient to navigate.

Cons

That said parts of the interface can still feel a bit confusing and there isn't much flexibility when it comes to customizing the on-screen display.

reliable and organized dashboard

Pros

Right from the start, GageList has delivered very accurate performance. The dashboard stays clean and well organized and customizing it was never a problem for our team. The software is user friendly, the subscription pricing is very affordable and the setup process along with the automation features has been a huge win for us. I'd definitely recommend giving GageList a try.

Cons

Honestly I've been satisfied with everything in GageList. It works perfectly for our needs and I really can't point to any feature that gives us trouble. I'm very happy with it.

Custom dashboards with helpful support

Pros

The dashboard gives quick results and I can also customize it to run my numbers by asset number which is really useful.

Cons

I'm still getting familiar with the forms side of the software so I'll hold off on judging that part until I understand it better. In the meantime, I expect to lean on support in the future and they've been excellent so far.

Handy tracking and export tools

Pros

Keeping gages organized, monitored and tied to notifications is one of the most useful basic things GageList offers. I also appreciate being able to export the data and use it however I need. On top of that, tracking calibration records and attaching document tracking to gages has been very helpful.

Cons

One limitation is that it does not always fit company- or user-specific requirements. In our case, we work with fixtures linked to specific programs and each fixture has its own tools. Every fixture includes three key values: asset ID, fixture ID and program ID and multiple programs can be tied to each fixture. Each tool also has its own version of those values. That setup is a little hard to manage in GageList although it can still be done with some workarounds. I ended up repurposing other fields for the information I needed. For instance, I used the "source/vendor" field as my tool ID field. Even so, I really wish I could also record the actual vendor since that did not always match the manufacturer name so that field was not a perfect substitute.

4.0

affordable cloud calibration tracking

Pros

Compared with other calibration management systems, the pricing feels much more reasonable and the cloud-based storage is a big plus. It also works well for multiple team members which makes collaboration a lot more practical.

Cons

Up to now I really haven't run into any major issues with the software. A few parts could be a bit more simple and some workflows could be easier to navigate.

excellent mobile calibration tracking

Pros

One thing that really works well with GageList is the unlimited user setup so we are not charged per person. Being cloud-based is also a big plus and the apps on phones and tablets are simple to use which makes it convenient to pull up calibration reports while out in the field. The email reminders help keep calibration schedules on track by showing which tools need inspection and the system also makes calibration records easy to trace.

Cons

A downside is that some of the gage plans do not really match the amount of data storage provided. For example, a plan may allow 1,000 gages but only include 1 GB of storage. You can buy more storage but it costs extra at $25 for each additional 1 GB. It would make a lot more sense if the software offered limits in TB instead of GB.

quick to learn and navigate

Pros

Right from the first login, everything felt simple to use. I was able to move around the system and complete tasks without needing time to figure things out.

Cons

One thing I noticed is that when I try to return to a previous screen, like going from the "Active Gage" list back to the dashboard, the browser's back button sends me to a different page instead of the one I was just on. It's not a major problem, just something I've observed.
