Spare parts tracking feature

Pros

Having all spare parts gathered in one place has been really useful for me. I also find it helpful that I can clearly see what work has already been done on each asset and the stock count feature on the tablet works very well in my experience.

Cons

The biggest downside is the speed, because it can run quite slowly. Searching for the part you need takes too long and using the work orders on the tablet could be more easy.

Fully synced asset process

Pros

Everything ties together really well in my experience. For example, I can build assets, assign them to a location, link a task to them and then set up the scheduler and it all stays in sync.

Cons

I'd like to see the mass change function developed further. The group change wizard is really good but I think it should be able to do more. With regulations like BRC changing so often, we use a lot of standard text across every task and updating all of that still needs more flexibility.

Simple navigation experience

Pros

Using this system day to day has made a real difference to how I work. I find it very easy and simple, with a clear layout that helps me navigate easily and quickly find the information I need without unnecessary complexity. That usability has helped me align processes, save time, reduce mistakes and improve overall efficiency in my daily workload.

Cons

There are times when the system runs quite slowly which becomes frustrating especially during busy periods or when something needs to be done quickly. When pages take time to load or information is slow to process, it disrupts the workflow and affects efficiency, particularly if several users are on the system at once. Even though it's generally user-friendly, these performance issues can still hurt productivity and slow down everyday operations. Better speed and responsiveness would make the overall experience much better.

Evolving long term solution

Pros

After using this software for many years, one thing that really stands out to me is how much it has improved. It used to feel quite limited and I sometimes found it difficult to do what I needed but over time I've seen it develop significantly and become much more capable.

Cons

One ongoing problem is with Mobile Pro syncing which can overwrite sign-off notes in the database. I often type detailed background and "work done" notes from a desktop so there is a full record on a work order but then an engineer syncs a tablet and those notes vanish. We have adapted by syncing before, during and after entering notes in Mobile Pro, yet the issue still happens.

Simple document management setup

Pros

Right from the start, I found the interface simple to understand and quick to get used to. It helps me find information fast and I really value the customization options. Having one unified place to store important documents has also been a big plus for me.

Cons

At times, the built-in help inside the system doesn't give enough guidance, so you may need to click around a bit and explore to figure out where certain things are.

Easy work order editing

Pros

Editing work orders is easy in my experience and I find it simple to reassign jobs or adjust people's schedules to match our programme. Making changes to tasks and instructions is also very manageable for me.

Cons

Setting up multi-subject work groups can get confusing and it feels like a refresher training course might be needed. I've also noticed that when creating new work orders, there can be a delay before they show up on the scheduler.

Strong purchasing traceability

Pros

The purchasing side has been really useful for my workflow. I find it does a great job of tracking traceability, so following a request for quote through to order status is easy and being able to link work orders to the PO is very helpful. I've also had a great experience with customer support which usually responds within 30 minutes.

Cons

It would be much more convenient if documents could be dragged and dropped directly into the files. It's also limiting not being able to create bespoke reports, since I have to work around the preset reports instead.

Aligned maintenance operations

Pros

One thing that really stands out is how well it helps align daily operations. The CMMS, PO processing and stores modules connect really well which cuts down duplicated work and improves traceability. I've found job tracking, ordering and stock control become much more efficient overall in my experience.

Cons

A few parts of the system do feel a bit outdated and some tasks require more clicks than they probably should. Reporting and data extraction could be easier to work with too especially when it comes to customizing reports.

Automated maintenance scheduling

Pros

It covers the core functions you'd expect from a CMMS. In practice, it schedules maintenance tasks when they're due and clearly flags anything that has gone overdue which I find very useful.

Cons

One limitation is that assigning multiple workers to a single task isn't handled well and it's not simple to view each person's recorded hours individually.

Expandable asset data model

Pros

From the first time I entered asset details, the system felt very easy to use. I could add data simply at the start and as I became more familiar with it, I saw there was plenty of room to build out more depth and complexity.

Cons

I haven't run into any issues while using it so far which makes it hard to criticize something I still haven't pushed to its limits.

Complete maintenance management package

Pros

I noticed the interface feels user-friendly and easy to navigate. It includes pretty much everything I need for day-to-day work management. I can keep work orders simple or add as much detail as required and the document management area easily meets our audit requirements. I also appreciate that there are multiple ways to complete jobs through both desktop and mobile. Once inventory is set up, I can book spare parts directly onto work orders. I also like having the option to use either the dashboard view or a BI connector depending on what data I need. There are plenty of additional modules available depending on requirements, such as permit to work, wallboard, purchasing and more. The mobile app also works very well for managing tasks across our teams.

Cons

One thing that gets frustrating is not being able to click directly into the asset data from a work order which usually leaves you juggling multiple open tabs. There are a lot of report templates included but none of them quite give me exactly what I need, so we often end up exporting the data to Excel and building our own shift reports. A big reason for that is you can create teams in the system but the report templates do not include a team filter.

Great cmms for factory control

Pros

To me, this feels like a proper CMMS built for a real factory rather than a simplified spreadsheet-style tool. Once I set up the asset register and job plans properly, I find the PPM and work order control very capable. The structure around assets, locations, job plans, parts and history is well thought out in my experience. It helps enforce standards and reduces reliance on informal tracking. Backlog visibility is also useful, as I can clearly see what's overdue, waiting on parts, waiting on labour, or tied to shutdowns. The reporting side is strong too especially for compliance and identifying issues like incorrect job closures or missing failure codes.

Cons

something that gets annoying is the newer "fresh" interface because everything feels a bit too similar. Every tab and window looks almost the same which makes it very easy to click the wrong "+" and end up doing something completely different. For example, you might think you're adding parts to a work order but instead you've started creating a brand new work order. That's why I still stick with the older icons and layout. It also exposes messy master data immediately, whether that's assets, BoMs, stock, or locations. This isn't some magic fix where the software solves bad data for you, so the groundwork still has to be done properly. Getting people to actually adopt it is probably the hardest part. If production calls in breakdowns over the radio and nobody logs them, the system gets blamed when really that's a people and process issue. Performance can also feel a bit sluggish at times. That may be down to our servers but it's definitely slower than what we were shown in demos and meetings.

modular setup with fantastic support

Pros

Starting with Piranha from scratch was a modular process and I found the customer support throughout to be excellent.

Cons

Getting everything up and running does take time but it really pays off over the long term. Machine data and tasks need to be created before any scheduling can happen.

user-friendly

Pros

I found the system very user-friendly. Navigating it was easy and setting it up for my company was simple. It works as a multifunctional CMMS that helps me manage and stay on top of operations without hassle.

Cons

Honestly, I don't have any complaints. I've checked out similar services from other providers and this one comes out ahead by a long way.

reporting and work orders shine

Pros

Having the work order drop-down tab back in the system was a big improvement in my experience especially since it took quite a while to return after Frontline. I also find the reporting side strong, with a useful variety of reports available.

Cons

One thing still missing is the budget management feature that Frontline used to have especially for tracking monthly spending and total costs.

simple setup

Pros

Getting around the system feels very easy for me and I don't find training new users takes much effort. It's a clear and efficient platform that doesn't feel overcomplicated.

Cons

Search feature is too sensitive. If a material name isn't spelled exactly the same way it was entered when created, there's a good chance it won't appear in the results.

simple purchasing & support

Pros

Interface is simple and easy to navigate which makes my everyday purchasing, asset management and planned maintenance tasks much more easy. Whenever I need support, I've found the customer service team quick to respond and helpful in resolving issues.

Cons

One downside is that the software offers limited room for customization. Another frustration is that when creating new purchase orders or adding lines to an existing order, unnecessary duplication can sometimes happen.

useful scheduler and document access

Pros

One of the most valuable parts for me is the scheduler, because it gives a clear view of which assets are due for maintenance. I also find the document manager very useful, since it keeps SOPs and risk assessments easily accessible during tasks.

Cons

At the moment, it covers all the functions we need. The only thing I'd improve is the mobile pro app which could be a bit more user-friendly.

clean interface and effective tools

Pros

Using this online program for everyday tasks has been very effective in my experience and I find the whole system easy. The interface feels clean, simple and well organized which makes it easy for me to locate tools without confusion.

Cons

On the tablet, though, editing documents and managing files doesn't work very well which makes the online program a bit more difficult to use there.

adaptable fit for PPMs

Pros

The overall scope and flexibility are great. We mainly use it for PPMs and it handles that role more than well enough for what we need.

Cons

The mobile app regularly hangs during sync, so it usually needs to be restarted. The meter reading setup can also be frustrating when there are multiple readings tied to a single work order.
