“Standout Document Management System

Pros

It works well with most applications through managed folders. Remote office work has always been challenging, but 12d Synergy has addressed this while keeping local network speed. Integrated workflows and tasks help our project managers track job progress. Email filing is quick and efficient, and the search function in 12d Synergy saves us time. It performs well on a cloud server. We can publish and issue files to clients and track files leaving the office. The support is excellent, and the development team is receptive to feature requests. Training documents and videos are useful for new staff members.

Cons

It doesn't integrate well with REVIT, but other than that, no complaints.

“12d Synergy on large projects

Pros

Managing and collaborating on projects designed in 12d Model isn't possible with any other collaboration package. It effectively synchronizes data and minimizes data transfer. The first time you open or check out a file, you need to download the whole file, but subsequent check-ins and checkouts are quick as 12d Synergy only transfers the changes. The ability to check out files and work offline is great when I need to work without an internet connection.

Cons

Needing IT department help to host the server hardware is a hassle, but for everyday use, I haven't had any major problems.

“Working with Folders

Pros

Nowadays, few projects I work on have network servers, so files need to be shared and saved to cloud-based servers. 12d Synergy is the only program I've used that allows me to check in and out folders without zipping them into a single file like other cloud document systems. It's a significant improvement, allowing me to work with folders and files as I prefer.

Cons

I haven't used all of Synergy's features yet, but I really like the parts I have used.

Pros

The capability to manage 12d model projects in an intuitive document management system is great. 12d Synergy lets users review the history of 12d model projects and roll back if necessary, which is crucial when managing large data sets.

Cons

It doesn't provide detailed analytical data on users and accessed projects.

Pros

Better data management has made our team more productive and efficient. The simple, easy-to-navigate interface supports flexible working arrangements.

It has limited integration with other software, like open roads and Revit.

Pros

Users can work from anywhere with an internet connection. It handles folders of files well. The interface is intuitive and manages bandwidth effectively, consistently placing files in the same folder.

Cons

This software doesn't have zipped downloads yet. We transfer files that are several GB (like aerial imagery and BIM models), and if people don't manage their files well, it can slow down colleagues with slow internet. But this is more of a user issue, and the development team is working on adding this feature.

Pros

12d Synergy offers excellent document, CAD, version, and email management. It ensures everything is in one place and accessible to all necessary users. Email management is very handy, allowing us to see all project-related emails regardless of the sender or recipient, simplifying management. Version control and file history give us peace of mind that nothing can be deleted.

Cons

The check-in and check-out features can be slow when the projects are large.

Pros

As designers located in different cities, some working from home, 12d Synergy has been fantastic in providing everyone with project access while maintaining version control. I also appreciate that 12d Synergy allows you to open a project in read-only mode for checking parts of the model while designers work on other parts.

Cons

I haven't found any real downsides yet. We're still deciding whether to use 12d Synergy for our DWG output. We've had some issues with Autocad and 12d Synergy, so we'll keep an eye on that.

Pros

12dS has been easy to scale as we find parts of our business that benefit from its features. Combined with expanding our team geographically, the ease of installing the FRS to support our remote users is refreshing. The support is very helpful and responsive to issues and easy to deal with.

Cons

Like 12dM, the interface can take some time to get used to for some people.

Pros

CAD and 12D integration, Windows folder-based, allows working from home or office. The Synergy team was very helpful.

Cons

There are many bugs with V3. It crashes due to a full SQL (a company IT issue), but it's still a problem. We've lost productivity due to the crashes. The user guides are okay but not great; they need more detail. Excel referencing between different Excel files didn't work or update properly, which is risky for linked workbooks.

Pros

It's the best option for data management for 12d Model. Good initial training and support. The rollback feature and read-only project opening are great.

Cons

The interface could be more intuitive. Adding some 'Wizards' for tasks would help.

Pros

12d Synergy lets us use staff anywhere in the world without worrying about server locations and internet links. Users can check out a project and work offline from anywhere.

Cons

The software works perfectly with 12d but has had some issues with Autocad and the FRS. All issues were quickly resolved, and the product is now quite reliable.

12d Synergy makes it incredibly simple for me to create new jobs based on their type. By utilizing our customized templates, it automatically generates the basic tasks required for each job and sets up most of the folders we need for file organization. This not only streamlines our workflow but also ensures that everything is well-organized from the start. Additionally, saving files, including emails, is very easy which further enhances our efficiency and keeps everything neatly in place.

Proper implementation with over 100 users is challenging. IT staff and Synergy administrators need to constantly monitor the database to keep it running smoothly.

Pros

What first attracted us to 12d Synergy was its ability to manage CAD files and its integration with CAD software. The more we used it, the more features we discovered. The support is excellent, and they are open to improvements and changes.

Cons

It doesn't have a web version or interface and no IOS app yet.
