It's nearly impossible to use without three months of training... Consider getting Procore instead.

It is imple to use. Versatile functionality. Visual data and multiple format options.

I haven't encountered any downsides so far. It's pretty straightforward to get the hang of it.

“Why can't I search everything?

Pros

Storage options are available for a wide range of items including documents, photos, RFIs (Requests for Information), and change orders, providing a comprehensive solution for managing these critical elements.

I can't search across the entire project or all projects for the info I need. People store things in too many different places. It'd be helpful if revised submissions were marked as complete or partial document resubmissions.

“Many similar products in use

Pros

I work with AIM SAP and other reporting tools, and I'm proficient with Prolog and similar products. They all seem to offer the same features to me.

Cons

I probably won't have many projects that will need this, but I'm sure it's fine.

I really enjoy how adjustable this program is! It allows you to truly 'customize it' which is ideal for various industries and project management approaches!

I wish the reporting was a bit better. While you can report from a lot of the information, combining data from different modules costs extra. Dashboard reports are quite basic and not shareable.

Pros

Projectmates was just simple to use. I had never used this project before since every job has its own version, like EPM, FACTS, Orbit. I could continue with inputs as set up for the project and had no issues keeping up the file structure.

There could be some sign-in shortcuts, but other than that, it's very easy.

The iPhone app is quite intuitive and simple. The online computer version, on the other hand, is completely the opposite.

The online version for computers isn't very intuitive.

It's somewhat intuitive. Not fully, but it's simple enough for most of our team to handle after minimal training.

The annual license was too expensive at $600. Now, without any notice, the fee has increased to $695, plus there's an additional $100 setup fee.

“Run Away As Fast as You Can

Pros

I dislike everything about this software. You'd need a computer science degree to operate it. I hate the tool and dreaded using it for updates. It doesn't work as advertised to simplify your life or cut down on emails. In fact, it increased email volume because the same managers who promoted it for reporting clearly don't use or understand it.

Cons

I'd suggest not using it, but Management was convinced that creating a tool for subordinates would help them climb the corporate ladder, regardless of whether it actually works or saves time and money.

Centralized file record placement. It also lets the client accept or reject responses from consultants to contractors.

My occasional use on a long-term project meant I kept facing a "learning curve" with the software's functions.

I didn't like it at all. Procore's organization is far superior, and the integration didn't work.

Submittals didn't organize well and didn't integrate with Procore.

Easy to send drawings via links instead of emails. The folder tree system is well set up with clear locations for placing drawings and documents.

Cons

Tracking invoices could be easier. Once a revision and resubmission is sent, it's hard to track how many iterations occur before receiving the correct invoice there's no tracking system in place.

It's actually quite enjoyable to use and generally easy to understand, making the overall experience both engaging and easy.

There's no way to sort contract items to make them easier to find, and it's hard to change items here too.
