“Crucial for managing specifications

Pros

VisiSpecs is hands down the best go to tool for managing and tracking project manuals especially for large projects with multiple consultants. It saves us hours with every print job by handling formatting, updating headers and footers, managing table of contents, quality checking and cross referencing. The tags and parameters help us track statuses and manage the process well. We've left behind the nightmare of outdated Word macros and scripts and its been such a relief!

Cons

VisiSpecs relies on the cloud and doesn't work offline. My wish of being a digital nomad is somewhat limited by the need to stay connected. I was a bit unsure about the cloud at first but it hasnt caused any problems in our workflow. Everything including the specs folder with Word docs is easy to access directly from Word. One downside is that VisiSpecs doesnt include AIA MasterSpec content and its not great at importing spec masters without going through a long tagging process. It'd be awesome if they could license MasterSpecs directly from AIA.
