“Industry Standard which needs improvement!
Pros
This software is considered the benchmark in the industry, widely adopted by many companies as the standard choice.
Cons
I'm still waiting over 4 weeks for my ticket to be completed, and I haven't received any response from the team.

“Is "ViewPoint" for you?
Pros
If you already have their other software, getting this one is the logical choice. Just like the salesperson says, you can track your rewards (profits), perform accurate takeoffs, and submit on time. All those claims are mostly true.
Cons
The salesperson can sometimes come across as overly aggressive, pushing for an immediate purchase. This approach isn't suitable, especially with such a significant investment. The initial bids are often inaccurate, requiring final adjustments. There's a support team available, but the cost of training is additional and can be high. You either need to visit them or have them come to you, and there isn't enough time for adequate training. Reducing the training costs would improve the experience.

“Greatest Estimation Software Company! I highly recommend them!
Pros
The software just works! It sounds simple, but it's true! We had tried two other estimation programs before ViewPoint, and they were slow, poorly designed, and the support was awful. ViewPoint is completely different. The support is excellent, and their trainers genuinely care that you learn the software thoroughly. I've never worked with better trainers or a more knowledgeable technical support team. These folks are fantastic!
Cons
I can't think of a single downside to ViewPoint MEP Estimating. It offers excellent value for the investment! It's not cheap, but it's definitely worth it for me and my company!

“Viewpoint MEP Software
Pros
Our offices have been using Viewpoint MEP estimation for Electrical for a long time now. We count on this system to quickly and accurately complete bids. This software has elevated our game, and we've used it for multi-million dollar projects. Without it, we couldn't handle the volume of work we manage daily across our four locations.
Cons
Issues come up like with any software, but the support team responds quickly and addresses problems promptly.

“To many steps to do a simple task.
Pros
This program has a lot of features... if you have a background in computer engineering. It's quicker than doing a takeoff by hand. Pat, our trainer, was fantastic! Extremely helpful and available to answer any question at any time of day, much better than the customer help center.
Cons
The program is quite expensive, and the additional cost for training is insufficient for the amount of information needed to use it effectively. The salesperson was friendly but very pushy. Post-purchase customer service is terrible.

“Too many steps
Pros
It handles a lot of accounting tasks. If you really need all those features, this system would be great. But it might not be ideal for a smaller company.
Cons
There are too many clicks and windows to navigate to reach a specific area. It feels like there are too many steps just to do one thing.

“Pedro Silva - Bermudez, Longo, Diaz-Masso, LLC
Pros
BLDM is one of America's leading specialty construction firms. We've been in the market for 55 years and still going strong. We introduced the software to our Estimating Department over 20 years ago and have trusted it completely since then. With technology constantly evolving, we still rely on Viewpoint Software for its accuracy and practicality in bid work. I believe part of our success with the software is due to the full support from the technical staff. They're always there to help when needed!
Cons
If you don't have much computer experience, it takes a lot of time to learn all the available functions.

“Excellent Product.
Pros
Easy to navigate. Works really well. I log in every morning and use it all day, every day. Great product. Mary Heinz is AMAZING.
Cons
I haven't had any issues with it. Even if I did encounter a problem with Viewpoint, I'm confident it would be handled promptly and professionally.

“MEP estimation
Pros
The software is incredibly accurate and versatile, easily adapting to various needs and ensuring precise results every time.
Cons
It's very cumbersome to use, not mobile at all, and too complicated. I need a lighter version that is not so expensive.

“Been using this take off since it was quest haven't seen any change.
Pros
It's easy to navigate and understand, and the summary reports are very useful.
Cons
I wish there was a way to integrate a cross-section takeoff program into the system. We're still using an outdated Quest program.

“Do not buy this earthworks software
Pros
It allows earthworks to be completed electronically instead of using a digitizer board.
Cons
The vendor's inability to make improvements or fix bugs is frustrating. They usually just say they haven't seen that issue before and blame unrelated factors. It feels like any errors are always my fault.

“Viewpoint Electrical Estimating
Pros
The program's structure lets me easily perform take-offs and is flexible enough to fine-tune the estimate once it's done.
Cons
There's a minor issue with the digital take-off; sometimes it loses' the take-off when you switch to the take-off screen to enter it into the estimate.

“Long time user of the electrical estimating software
Pros
Viewpoint actively checks in with its users to gauge their satisfaction with the product. The support team is eager to help with any issues and truly wants to assist. The product is highly specialized for trades and is very comprehensive.
Cons
Sometimes, I wish we could interface with Microsoft products like Excel. The telecommunications takeoff section needs expansion.
