The customization options are incredible and you can really tailor everything to fit your specific needs and workflow perfectly.

Cons

The interface isn't very polished and I've run into quite a few bugs during use.

Software that adapts as you expand

Pros

I love how the database scales smoothly without breaking the budget even with our million-plus records and hundreds of monthly users. It feels rock-solid right out of the box and when you need customization, the community support and extension library are fantastic resources. Search Kit combined with Form Builder creates this really powerful interface for digging into data and generating reports and it makes everything so much more accessible.

Cons

Implementation can feel overwhelming when you dont have a clear vision of what your organization needs. Since there are so many different ways to tackle problems, I'd really recommend working with a partner to get things set up properly from the start. You'll also need to find solid VPS hosting because this thing is pretty resource-heavy.

Needs Technical Expertise to Succeed

Pros

I appreciate that it doesn't cost anything and the open source aspect seems like it would be really valuable if your tech savvy enough to take advantage of it.

Cons

UI is very poor and not user friendly at all.

Needs Major Improvements

Pros

It works really well for tracking our customer base and handling the basic CRM functions we need. It keeps things simple and efficient, making it easy to manage our customer relationships.

Cons

Setting things up takes way more work than it should and the interface isn't friendly at all. I keep expecting basic features like automated emails to be simple but even though the functionality exists, getting there requires too much configuration.

Excellent free CRM option

Pros

I love how well maintained and open this platform is. Running it on our own infrastructure gives us complete control and the flexibility with payment processor options is fantastic. The CMS capabilities are amazing and having this level of customization really makes a difference for our specific needs.

Cons

Their support feels scattered across different channels and updates sometimes create unexpected headaches for our team.

Highly adaptable CRM solution

Pros

I like that this is open source which keeps costs way down compared to other CRM and case management systems especially important for medium sized organizations like ours. The integration with Drupal, WordPress and Joomla is very powerful and lets us build comprehensive CRM and website solutions without breaking the bank on expensive fundraising database alternatives.

Cons

The online demo can feel overwhelming when you're just starting out and there's so much functionality that it might seem intimidating at first.

Highly functional!

Pros

The feature set is impressive and gives you comprehensive contact information at your fingertips. What really stands out is how the membership functionality works seamlessly right from the start and when you integrate it with a Drupal site, managing the entire member portal becomes surprisingly easy.

Cons

Configuring various layouts for different user types is somewhat tricky and requires careful planning.

Excellent nonprofit management solution

Pros

The events and membership features really stand out especially with discount options and everything's nicely modular. Creating custom fields is straightforward without needing to mess around in the backend too much. The email campaigns, scheduled jobs and reporting tools are solid additions. Building custom forms through profiles has been great for our needs.

Cons

The user interface really needs a major overhaul, it feels outdated compared to modern standards and if they dont address this soon, I worry about the platform's future. The database design has some serious flaws too, especially how custom fields store relationships as comma separated records which makes it impossible to use as a proper data layer or backend solution. Also, their marketing and PR efforts need significant improvement to keep up with competitors.

Good open source option but technical

Pros

The interface is really user friendly especially for admins who need to navigate quickly. I appreciate all the functionality it provides, mailings, membership management, contributions and more. It handles massive datasets without breaking a sweat, one of my clients has over 200,000 contacts and it runs smoothly. Being open source makes it an excellent package overall.

Cons

Managing this long term definitely requires someone with solid technical skills especially when it comes to upgrades and you'll want a tech-savvy person handling those. If your setup involves lots of custom development, you're going to need a skilled developer since it has its own unique approach to things. Some of the internal APIs aren't standardized and tend to break which means developers often have to find workarounds at the technical level.
