“Ideal tool for production businesses
Pros
I really need more detailed information on things like gear, inventory count and profit margins. It's crucial for me to have an accurate overview of the gear I'm working with, as well as a clear picture of inventory levels at all times.
Cons
It just needs a more modern look and some icons instead of relying on words. A cleaner, more interactive design would really help improve the overall experience.

“Really stands out
Pros
It's really easy to manage and train new users on. What's awesome is that I can meet and chat with the developers regularly which helps guide the product's future development.
Cons
Some parts of the UI can feel outdated. For example, the labor section can sometimes be tricky to use and clunky. A smoother interface would make things a lot easier.

Pros
Their customer support is fantastic. It's really important since I'm always in touch with them.
Cons
It's consistently slow and fixes take forever. Updates are rolled out without considering the needs of the end users. It feels cumbersome to use and there's no real beta testing, us, the users, end up doing all the testing ourselves.

Pros
The dev team is really great at listening to feedback and responding quickly with software updates. Whenever I share any suggestions or concerns, they take it seriously and work fast to address them.
Cons
They're still working on improving how transfers are managed but it's clear they're putting in the effort to get it right.

“Don't miss out on Intellievent Lightning
Pros
It's intelligent, comprehensive software built specifically for the event industry.
Cons
The dispatch software could use some improvement. It doesn't sync with a map function or GPS, so I have to manually calculate route times which is a problem.

“Excellent value with excellent support
Pros
It is easy to use. The customer support team is always there to help whether it's with the current workflow or developing new features. They also offer weekly training sessions and customer calls to assist with deployment, training and feature enhancements.
Cons
Like any software of this size, there are some challenges with learning it and limitations that still need to be addressed. But honestly, these issues are minor compared to the excellent customer service and the team's willingness to help resolve them.

“Full solution all in one!
Pros
The ease of use and overall ability of this software is fantastic. We switched to Lightning 2 1/2 years ago and haven't looked back since.
Cons
The team is developing so quickly that we can't even keep up with all the new features. It's exciting but also overwhelming.

“Reliable inventory control option
Pros
The new UI in v4.0 is awesome. It's much more streamlined, the flow feels better and it's more interactive. Plus, you can customize outward facing document templates which is a huge plus. There are tons of modules that should fit various companies and operational models. The value compared to other software providers is hard to beat.
Cons
It's frustrating that there's no comprehensive user manual or documentation. Customer support can be really helpful but it depends on who you get and how quickly they respond. We've found a few bugs that still haven't been fixed but the developers are open to feedback. The only issue is that implementing the fixes takes a long time which can be annoying.

“Highly suggest this for rentals and inventory
Pros
One of the main reasons we went with Lightning was because of the enterprise solutions it offers. We have multiple sites with warehouses, and the ability to link them via the software and write multi-site orders was crucial. It does this for us which is a game-changer for logistics especially when getting equipment and people to different sites. Writing these orders and having the logistics backend follow and help schedule equipment between facilities has seriously improved our efficiency. It offers a lot more features but this was a must-have for us.
Cons
It took me a little while to get used to the availability calendar but once I figured it out, it really improved how we schedule equipment. Now I can see all the options to fix and manage overbooked equipment which helps us make better financial decisions instead of just renting out equipment to whoever orders first.

“Simple to use, with great features & support

I bought an "IntelliEvent Express" license back in 2008 when I was expanding my event planning business to include event equipment rentals. I did a bunch of market research to find affordable software to track equipment, accounts and sales and came across IntelliEvent. It had exactly what I needed in terms of product quality, features, efficiency, technical support and price.
Cons
As a small business owner, portability used to be a big issue for me. Living on an island made it difficult to call customer service and transfer my files to my laptop every time I needed to work outside the office. The process worked for a while but it eventually became a hassle. In 2017, I decided to upgrade to Lightning and it turned out to be one of the best business decisions I've ever made.
