Pros

This tool gives my clients a dedicated place to book my services and being one of the biggest platforms out there means most people already know it for service bookings. I also really appreciate that they offer access to business capital.

Cons

Feature I can't stand is extra charging professionals for new clients when we're already paying to be on the platform. Clients usually pick a provider based on reviews, not marketing anyway. After being in the industry for years and building a strong client base that keeps growing organically through social media and networking, I really dislike that service providers are still being charged.

Pros

One thing I did appreciate was that clients can leave detailed reviews about me and the service I provide. Honestly, that was the only feature that felt truly useful to me.

Subscription pricing was the part I really disliked. In my opinion, it just is not worth paying for and they should still have a free option available.

Starting out as a new braider, one thing that really helped was how Stylist would promote my work and bring in new clients. It gave me exposure to a lot of new people which made a big difference when I was just getting established.

Last time I used it there was no option for deposits and that was something I really needed. I also wasn't a fan of the limited appearance and felt it could offer more in that area.

Clients could book appointments any time, day or night which was really convenient. The site also handled automatic reminders for me and overall it was very simple to use.

At one point, I started getting charged for something that had previously been free, without any added features or benefits to justify it. This was years ago though so it's possible they've improved the service since then.

It's a widely used appointment booking platform which helps bring in clients and it also lets you promote your business inside the app alongside other businesses.

The downside is the cost, it can be fairly expensive compared with other client booking platforms especially when you look at the features included.

Using this company has been incredibly frustrating. First they let clients reverse payments even after a service has already been completed. Second their contact system is far from adequate. When help is needed there's no phone number to call, only an email and it can take up to 5 business days just to get a response. On top of that they don't seem to care about the workers at all since they keep most of the money people work hard to earn. The whole business feels unprofessional. It's hard to understand why they wouldn't support the workers who keep the app running but instead it seems like money is all they care about. I would not recommend using this app if you want to save yourself time and stress. They may even withdraw money from your account without you realizing it.

After using it a few times for a legitimate hairstylist, I ran into a frustrating issue. Some stylists seem to collect the fee even when they have no intention of actually doing your hair. I also had a case where I accidentally booked an appointment and canceled it right away but the stylist still got paid for nothing.

There were no positives here. This felt like a scam they took money from me and refused to give it back and I would never use this service again.

Right away the booking system created two appointments when I was only trying to schedule one for June 2. It also added a May 20 appointment by mistake, most likely when the site froze while I was waiting for the confirmation page to load. I never received any confirmation for May 20, only for June 2. I didn't show up for the May 20 appointment because I never booked it and had no idea it even existed. After that, my card was charged $60 and they even said they would add a 20% tip for a service I never received and for an appointment I never made. I sent them proof of the appointment I actually tried to book and explained that the May 20 booking happened in error without me clicking anything to confirm it. Even with that they said they could not refund me and that the stylist would have to handle it. So they were able to take my money and even add a tip but somehow they were not able to return it. I will never use this booking platform again. Be very careful with this app because your card can be charged for an appointment you never scheduled and then you may have to involve your bank to try to recover money for a service you never got. It comes across as a scam.

Pros

Running a sauna and spa resort, availability management is one of the most important parts of the job and this software handles that really well. It does exactly what I need when it comes to keeping availability organized and dependable.

Cons

This tool still needs quite a few additional features especially billing and invoicing, automated scheduling and attendance tracking.

When you're new to an area or trying to track down a hard-to-find hair service, this app can help connect you with local hairstylists. For me, finding someone in Los Angeles who professionally does relaxers feels almost impossible, like searching for water in the desert. Because of that, I've had to rely on StyleSeat over the past few years but it has been one problem after another the whole time.

Cons

The customer service is awful. There's no real way to talk to an actual person and even after filling out a support request with all the required details they still reply with an automated message that's completely unhelpful. It honestly feels like they have no interest in resolving anything which is really frustrating. When a company has time-sensitive policies that require immediate action, it makes no sense to have customer support that isn't responsive. I even had to change all of my card information just to avoid being charged for a service I didn't need anymore because they wouldn't allow me to update it online.

Pros

Everything feels current with this software and being able to create my own schedule is something I really love.

Cons

I do think it could be improved a bit by adding some better features.
