Pros

What keeps me coming back is how quickly I can take a screenshot, add annotations or record a video. I don't need to download or save anything either, I can just copy the URL that's automatically placed on my clipboard and paste it wherever I need it. I also really like getting an instant alert when someone has accessed it. On top of that, being able to create an animated GIF so fast is incredibly helpful for marketing and customer support work.

Cons

At times the interface feels a bit slow and the controls are fairly small so you have to be careful not to click the wrong thing.

Pros

Whenever I need to share quick training videos with my team, this is the tool I rely on. It keeps getting updated with new recording options and styles which has been really useful. I've never run into any problems with it and I especially appreciate being able to see when a team member has watched a video and often if they've gone back and watched it more than once.

Cons

There's honestly not much negative to say. The only minor annoyance is that it logs me out more often than I'd prefer, roughly every couple of weeks so I have to sign back in again.

Right in the middle of a major launch, I used Screencast-O-Matic for a video and it turned out to be a terrible decision. They only allow 2GB of data and after just 280 views, my limit was already used up. That meant the remaining 11,564 viewers were met with a message saying there was no more data and to contact the user. Thanks for that because I was the one left handling hundreds of emails. I then paid for an immediate upgrade they took my money and it still did not work. Would I use it again? Absolutely not especially for any B2C use.

Support was awful. Their customer service and chat were no help at all and the soonest I could reach anyone was two days later by scheduling a time to speak with someone. I needed urgent help and did not get a single response when it actually mattered.

Pros

Nearly every day, this tool helps me confirm I'm aligned with clients, send screenshots when I need to show them how to use something and collaborate more easily with my teammates. I really love that it automatically copies the link so I can paste it straight into an email or Slack. For such a simple piece of software, it performs incredibly well.

Cons

Screenshot and video editing can be a bit buggy sometimes. Every now and then, it doesn't save the changes I make which is frustrating because I have to go back and do the work again.

The biggest benefit for me has been how accessible and dependable it is.

What I don't like about this software is that it feels limited in flexibility and doesn't offer enough security.

What stands out right away is how quickly I can start screen sharing or share videos with just one click. It's easy to use and makes it simple to share my desktop with support or anyone else who needs to see what's on my screen.

Main downside is that it sometimes crashes in the middle of recording especially when the recording goes longer than 10 minutes. That seems like it could be a bug.

Keeping track of my cloud documents and other cloud-related apps was very manageable and storing and finding everything was easy.

At the beginning, it felt pretty bare-bones. It was somewhat difficult to figure out where everything was and to connect my cloud with other devices.

This program has been awesome especially when it comes to downloading software. I'd definitely recommend both the program and the app to anyone.

My biggest issue is the ads. Since I'm still in the trial version there are a lot of pop-ups and advertisements that really distract me and make me want to leave the app.

Works well on an iPhone and is easy to remember for cards or other things, plus it's good to use while playing games.

The downside is that there are times when I can't remember my username or password and that really sucks.

Right from the Windows system tray, it gives me quick access to screenshots and screen recordings then uploads them to the cloud automatically so sharing is really easy. It has been especially valuable for grabbing information on the fly and sending it to clients to show them how to do something and also for capturing things I need to pass along to teammates for reference.

Cons

Every now and then it will crash or freeze and I have to restart it before it works properly again. The video recording interface also feels a little dull and somewhat confusing at first although once you learn how it works, it does the job fine.

Compared with other tools built for the same purpose, this one stands out to me because it offers a very comfortable workspace for taking screenshots, using the camera and adding annotations. It is especially useful when working from home since there are times when you need to keep certain captures saved. What makes it even better is that it also works like a cloud service and integrates with other cloud systems which makes it even more impressive.

Even though it is free software there are still some options I wish were easier to access.

Real customer support is basically missing. Instead they rely on account managers who seem more focused on trying to sell you more than actually helping.

Sending quick visual explanations to clients has been much easier with this tool. It's very user-friendly and I can record my screen or make GIFs in no time. That makes it really helpful when I need to explain something clearly without any back-and-forth or confusion. Being able to create short clips and share them right away is a big plus.

I do wish there were a few more choices for how my talking-head video appears alongside the shared content. Also some parts of the screen capture tool were not as simple as I expected.

Being able to grab a screenshot and instantly add it to an email or drop it into Slack has been incredibly convenient. It's very easy to use and I also like that it includes video recording even though I haven't explored that feature very much yet.

Capturing both screenshots and videos with this tool is incredibly easy and it's flexible enough to handle both without any hassle. The annotation options are my favorite part and I also really like that I can download and save files as JPEGs. It's something I end up using every single day.

The constant updates can be a little annoying even though they don't really cause major problems. Creating GIFs is also quite slow so that's a feature I tend to avoid using too often.

Showing coworkers how a process works has become much quicker and easier with video which makes explaining or presenting things a lot more easy. I also really like the different presentation options, whether I want to record with or without my microphone or choose a specific screen view. I love it!

Support work has been much easier with this because both our team and our customers find it very easy to use. We rely on it regularly to assist users with our product, show them where specific features are located and create quick recordings for help center articles or guides. I especially like getting notified when users watch my clips.

Upload times can be a bit slow depending on the length of the recording. I also wish it included a few more annotation options although overall it still offers a good amount of customization.

Helping customers or teammates is much easier when I can quickly grab a screenshot or record a video, with webcam and audio if needed and send it over right away. The annotation tools are also extremely useful.

Every so often, a video does not save or upload correctly which is frustrating until it gets fixed. It does not happen very often and oddly I never ran into it on the free version but it is still annoying when it happens.

Coming into this product as a complete beginner, I've found it fairly easy to use. I'm still just experimenting with it and have mainly created a few animated GIFs but up to this point it seems like a pretty great platform.

At times it does get a little confusing although that may just be because I've never used anything like this before and I'm still learning by experimenting.
