“Ideal archive tool”
Pros
Right from the start 7-Zip covers pretty much every common compression format and quite a few others as well. It has a tiny footprint, both in disk space and memory use, so it never is heavy on the system. Installation is quick and it ties into Windows really well especially with the optional context menu integration. I can use it from the command line for batch files or PowerShell scripts and the GUI works well when I want to handle things manually. Another nice touch is that the installer includes a detailed help file, so There is no need to open a browser just to figure something out. On top of that it's free, open-source, updated regularly and clearly still actively maintained. It's always one of the first programs I put on a new PC.
Cons
There are still a few things missing compared with WinRAR. For instance, it doesn't have an Archive tab in File Properties that shows details like file count, packed and unpacked sizes, plus a visual compression ratio bar. The interface also is a bit old-fashioned and a few menu items can be somewhat unclear.

Pros
7-Zip is what I use whenever I need to zip or unzip files and the password-protection option adds a nice extra layer of security. It's also very simple to use which makes the whole process quick and convenient.
Cons

Handling a large batch of files is where 7-Zip really helps. I have been using it for about 8 years and it has consistently done the job well. The password protection option for compressed files is also a big Plus since it adds an extra layer of security.
Cons
It would be even better if it came with more added features. At the moment,�the software�is mostly limited to compressing and extracting files.
