impressive workflows and integrations

Pros

All of the workflows and integrations are really nice to work with.

Cons

One downside is that the Google actions available inside the workflows feel limited and the older Google actions are still stuck in a separate legacy console instead of being moved over.

the workflows and connections are really well done

Pros

BetterCloud has been really useful for automating our onboarding and offboarding processes.

Cons

A negative aspect is the limited customization options which make it harder to set up automations exactly the way we need.

automated onboarding frees up your schedule

Pros

Automating onboarding and offboarding has freed up a lot of valuable time which lets me focus on other priorities and issues instead.

Cons

The downside was the price increase after using it for a year.

managing automated processes is a strong suit

Pros

One of the strongest features is the workflow management. Different workflows can be set up depending on the requirement and we use it every day since it has become a core part of our daily operations.

Cons

It still doesn't have much presence in India and it would be good to see it expand and create more opportunities in a country where the IT industry is thriving.

support shines and the workflow design is easy to read

Pros

Getting started with BetterCloud takes very little effort which is one of the things I enjoy most about it. You can put a handful of useful workflows in place almost right away without needing much training. The workflow builder feels very convenient even for people with little or no coding background especially if they understand basic logic. The older G. tools are also fantastic because they let you use certain Google Administration functions that do not exist in Google's native admin portal, all without having to learn GAM. On top of that, their customer support is phenomenal, fast, knowledgeable and consistently pleasant to work with.

Cons

The most frustrating limitation is the lack of a search feature for workflows. Once you get beyond 50 to 100 workflows, having to scroll through alphabetically sorted pages can take quite a bit of time. Pricing is also exceptionally high once you move past a few hundred users. Since the model is based on a per-user cost across your environment, it gets expensive very quickly.

alerts and workflows are easy to move through

Pros

The workflow setup and alert management feel very convenient which makes the platform pleasant to use.

Cons

A few integrations that would have been really useful only worked if APIs were available which limited some capabilities.

handling users is consistently dependable

Pros

User management has been working really well for us and we use it on a very regular basis.

Cons

I've heard the workflow features are really strong in this package but I haven't used them enough yet to fully understand how they work.

the support team is fantastic

Pros

Customer service has been top tier and the platform also gives us really granular admin access for front-line IT support. The workflow setup is another standout feature and has worked out fantastically for our team.

Cons

Some domain syncs only run once or twice a day. It's not a deal breaker but I'd definitely prefer them to happen more frequently.

Simple automation with real business value

Pros

Right away, BetterCloud impressed me with how smooth the workflows run. It comes with a strong set of features and capabilities that really improve both the efficiency and overall effectiveness of working in cloud-based environments.

Cons

Even with all the benefits BetterCloud offers, the app integration range still feels like an area that could be better. It supports major cloud platforms like G Suite and Office 365 but expanding the number of available integrations would make the product even more functional and attractive to a wider group of users.

control and automation working together with impact

Pros

Compared with some of the provider consoles we deal with, BetterCloud is often much simpler to work in. The ability to build workflows around alerts is really useful since we can trigger actions as soon as an alert event happens. It also saves us a lot of time by automating onboarding and offboarding tasks. User management in Google Workspace has improved especially with bulk update capabilities. I also appreciate having better visibility and control over document sharing across several popular apps. On top of that, the platform offers detailed automation for Salesforce user roles, permission sets and profiles.

Cons

A few areas still need work though. Roadmap items can take a while before they are fully delivered. Some Google integrations still have to be handled in Google's original interface instead of the main BetterCloud console and Google's DLP controls are also located on a separate site from the primary app. The certification programs exist but BetterCloud certifications do not seem widely recognized in the IT industry yet. Workflow discovery can also be frustrating because the search functionality could be much better. Reporting around automation failures is another area that could use improvement.

happy with how well it handles heavy data loads

Pros

It does a really good job of handling and processing data and my colleagues are happy using it as well.

Cons

Something that is bad about bettercloud BetterCloud could also be seen as a benefit. It's constantly being updated and getting new features added which can make it a bit hard to keep up with the latest changes.

this data protection feature for drive really earns its keep

Pros

One feature that has been especially useful is the Data Loss Prevention inside Google Drive. It gives a simple way to revoke external sharing from documents in Drive and the single-click action paired with the user-friendly interface makes it very convenient to use.

Cons

Pricing is per user instead of domain-wide and third-party integrations aren't as deep as I'd like. Minor stuff overall.

getting fresh IT info every day is genuinely useful

having one spot for all your saas automation is a victory

Pros

Having one central place to manage a large number of SaaS applications is a huge advantage with BetterCloud. It currently connects with more than 60 widely used SaaS apps which makes it especially valuable for modern environments. The biggest benefit is how easy onboarding and offboarding becomes through workflows across all those apps. Managing multiple SaaS tools and keeping track of who has access to what can be a real challenge for system administrators and BetterCloud helps a lot here. Its workflows cut down the number of clicks needed to securely deprovision users, verify that data isn't lost and reduce unnecessary licensing costs.

Cons

Most of my use case is around Google Workspace administration and there are still some gaps there. BetterCloud is missing functionality in areas like Shared Drives and group-based access control hasn't been fully developed yet. Since Google Workspace has advanced quite a bit with management through security groups, BetterCloud really needs to catch up in that area as well.

Expensive and Slow

Pros

The platform has helped improve our workflow overall and the reporting is one of the stronger parts of the product. Deprovisioning is also very easy to do and the alerting is decent enough for basic needs.

Cons

One of the biggest downside is the cost especially with pricing that feels very high and not always consistent. On top of that, several features seem behind the rest of the industry and the UI feels sluggish to work with.

Fast G Suite syncing with easy permission management

Pros

Due to this tool working with GSuite has become super simple. It takes a lot of what GSuite already offers and makes those functions much simpler to use. One thing I really appreciate is how quickly it syncs with GSuite updates usually show up within 10 to 15 seconds instead of taking around 30 minutes like they often do with Microsoft. It also adds a few useful capabilities on top of Google, such as delegation.

Cons

The feature set does feel a bit limited in some areas. That may be more because of restrictions on the GSuite side which honestly isn't too surprising.

Useful alerts

Pros

From a G Suite admin perspective, it was really useful to quickly spot whether people were sharing documents or forwarding emails they shouldn't be. The alerting feature was also valuable because I could set notifications for those situations as they happened. On top of that, the interface was well designed so making changes and moving around the platform felt very effortless.

Cons

They roll out updates and new features regularly but not everything is included in the base product. Some capabilities end up being paid upgrades and we ran into the same issue with integrations. More than once, we found an integration we wanted to use, only to hear from our success manager that it was actually an add-on.

it rescued us from a tough migration to gsuite

Pros

When we switched to GSuite, Bettercloud ended up being a lifesaver. Google Admin just wasn't enough for all the features and requirements we had, while Bettercloud covered everything we needed.

Cons

The interface took a bit of time to get used to but once I figured out where everything was, it's been working really well.
