This is crucial for businesses managing proprietary data across numerous portable devices, effectively overcoming the challenges posed by physical security breaches, ensuring that information remains unreadable to unauthorized parties.

How Much Does BitLocker Cost?

BitLocker pricing (as part of Windows 11 Pro, Enterprise, and Education) falls between $36 and $418.99/year or as a one-time purchase, according to industry benchmarks for similar enterprise-grade security and operating system solutions.

Valuable full disk encryption

Pros

BitLocker has been really valuable for keeping my data secure thanks to its full-disk encryption. Getting it running was easy too and once it's set up, it doesn't demand any extra work day to day. If you want to protect personal or work files from unauthorized access, it's a very practical and convenient option. Security matters a lot to me and this tool delivers that reassurance by making me feel confident that my information is protected.

Cons

One drawback is thatthis toolis limited to certain Windows editions which can be restrictive depending on what system someone uses. Another issue is that it is not open-source, so There is less transparency around how its security and privacy mechanisms work. For anyone who prefers complete visibility into the software they rely on, that can definitely be a concern. I'd really like to see it move further in that direction in the future.

Easy intune management deployment

Pros

Using BitLocker has not been a problem and managing it is just as easy. We deploy it through Intune which makes administration simple especially with recovery keys backing up directly there. The startup PIN requirement is also very important for laptop users and adds an extra layer of protection

Cons

Switching the PIN over to Windows Hello can be frustrating at times. There are also moments when it asks for the full unlock code for no clear reason.
