LMMS Features
Song Editor
This feature gives users a visual overview of a song’s structure. It has tracks shown on one side and their note blocks or segments arranged across the timeline. Users can create, move, copy, and delete segments directly on the timeline to shape the arrangement of a project.
Automation
LMMS lets users change the value of controls at specific points throughout a song. Producers can use it for simple adjustments, such as gradually increasing an instrument’s volume. Furthermore, it enables them to make more detailed changes to filters, envelopes, effects, and other controls. Automation can also be applied to supported third-party VST instruments and effects.
Controller Rack
The platform provides the Controller Rack as a way to drive controls using signals rather than manually drawn automation. It enables LFO controllers to create regular waveform-based movements. Peak controllers can respond to signal levels to influence connected parameters. The rack keeps these controllers together within the project, where users can rename or remove them as their work develops.

“How to stay organized with LMMS?”
Pros
One of the things I really like about LMMS is the project notes window. It's helpful for keeping track of important details about my music projects. I often use it to jot down ideas for things like song structure, instruments or lyrics. I also use it to note any changes or revisions I make to my tracks which helps me stay on top of my progress. Another way I use the project notes window is for brainstorming. When I'm starting a new project, I can quickly write down any ideas or inspiration that pop up, so I don't forget them later. As for making beats, LMMS's beat editor makes it easy. It offers a variety of drum samples and loops and the interface is simple for arranging beats.
Cons
It takes a lot of inspiration from FL Studio, so switching between the two is pretty easy. However after using FL Studio for a while, I feel like LMMS looks a bit outdated. That said, it's still a great platform for learning about audio recording and editing. I mostly use it as my go-to tool when I'm starting any new project.
