“Everything is just good!”
Pros
My top priority is delivering a seamless and professional experience for my customers. That's why I value a clean, intuitive interface that not only looks sharp but also lets me access critical information instantly, without any friction or delay.
Cons
I can't really think of anything bad. Maybe it's because I haven't used it enough to find the flaws but everything seemed really good to me.

“secure all-in-one for patient management”
Pros
I use AthenaOne for tracking patient info, scheduling, coding and insurance billing. It's super handy. The interface is easy to use, the support is great and I feel good about its security.
Cons
Like any software, it needs occasional updates and restarts to stay current and avoid glitches, just normal maintenance to keep everything running well

“Great functionality but costly”
Pros
I really liked how easy it was to start using this system. I thought it would be hard but it wasn't. I love that everything is in one place, the health records, the billing, the appointments and the patient website. It's so nice. I don't have to keep track of lots of different usernames and passwords anymore. It makes my day much easier.
Cons
The pricing can get confusing. The more money your practice makes, the more money they take from you. This isn't great if you're just a small practice.

“Does everything I need!!!”
Pros
This tool is incredibly efficient. I can check in for my medical appointments, schedule new ones and get support for any issues I have whether they're medical or not.
Cons
I have no problems with athenaOne at all. The app does everything I need it to and answers all my questions. I would be very happy to keep using it.

“handy and well-organized home page”
Pros
I find it very handy that the home page has multiple categories right there. It lets me access exactly what I need right away.
Cons
The back button isn't clear when you're looking through medical records. A lot of the time, I accidentally click it and end up back at the home page.

“Works great on new computers”
Pros
The EMR is really easy to handle even with multiple patients. It's a great fit for small to mid-sized practices like mine. I can manage several records at the same time without a problem.
Cons
It works fine for me and I don't have any worries so far. But you do need a computer that's pretty new to run it smoothly. It used to freeze all the time on our older computers.

“Excellent for direct provider communication”
Pros
My favorite part is the online portal for communication. It's so nice being able to message my healthcare provider directly.
Cons
I don't like trying to read my appointment notes on my phone. I can't scroll sideways, so I have to turn my screen to read the whole thing, which is annoying.

“catastrophic failure in patient care”
Pros
The service at the Village Medical location in Scottsdale and Via Linda was really poor. The front desk clerk was unprofessional and so was the back office. They messed up my insurance card information and then refused to fix it, telling me I had to call Medicare myself. My bill was completely wrong too and it had someone else's name and address on it.
Cons
I called your corporate billing, then I called the local billing office and I even went to the local office where they put my billing and insurance information in wrong. Every single person I talked to told me to call someone else. Corporate said to call local, local said to call corporate and the office where I got my service said they don't even have a billing department. I am so upset with the people at your local office, both at the front desk and in the back. They treated me really poorly.

“Great software but not for all doctors”
Pros
I actually really like using Athena. It's easy for me to find the billing section and my messages. I also like that I can send a chat directly to my providers. It has a lot of great features that I use all the time.
Cons
I like pretty much everything about it. The only thing I don't like is that other doctors I see who don't use it can't get into the system. They can't see my results or billing information and that can be a real pain. It's just not a system that everyone uses yet.

“A waste of time and money!”
Pros
It is good if you're a primary care doctor. But that's about all it's good for.
Cons
They take forever to fix problems, if they even fix them at all. We signed up for their billing service and it was a total waste of time. Their "billing experts" don't know how to handle billing for specialties that aren't primary care. We asked to switch to a different representative but they don't allow that. Their reps just tell you what you want to hear. It was a major waste of our time and money. You should find an EMR that actually specializes in your field and the same goes for a billing service. Their patient follow-up software isn't great either and all their extra features are just okay. You can run hundreds of reports but if the software doesn't help you with diagnosis, treatment choices or getting paid, then those reports are useless. I am in the process of leaving them and I suggest you don't use them or leave if you already are.

“Easy but could use tweaks”
Pros
It's easy to find my way around. I like the shortcuts you can use. I also like that you can choose to see your list of patients by their status or by their appointment time. The status view is nice because once a patient leaves, they disappear from your list.
Cons
I wish I could check a patient out without having to open their whole chart. I also don't really love the task system, it requires too many clicks. Another thing I'd like is to be able to see the patient's picture when I view my list by status, the same way I can when I view it by appointment time.

“Slow and impersonal patient portal”
Pros
I do like that there's a website where I can see all my information. I can check my lab results, see my upcoming appointments and send a message to my doctor.
Cons
There are quite a few things I don't like! Since there's only so much space, I'll keep it short. Basically, the patient portal is incredibly slow and glitchy. I always have to reload the page and it takes much longer than it should to do simple things. This happens no matter what, different doctors, different Wi-Fi, different computers or phones. It always acts this way. It also feels very impersonal like a portal a huge hospital would use. For a big hospital that's one thing but for my regular primary care doctor or my psychiatrist, it makes me feel like I'm just another number in their system. I'm sharing private details with these people but the portal makes it obvious I'm just one patient in a giant database. It also has a lot of standard pop-up messages, like "please allow 48 hours for a response." I'm sure my doctor's office sets those up but it just makes everything feel cold. Those messages are supposed to be helpful but they really feel like they're saying, "We have hundreds of other messages to get to and you'll get a reply when we get to you." It feels belittling and just reinforces the idea that doctors can't be bothered to talk directly to their patients.

“user friendly tool, price could be fairer”
Pros
I like that you can set it up just how you want it. It's pretty easy to learn how to use this software. I'm very happy with it.
Cons
I think the membership price should be based on what each person actually needs from the software, instead of everyone paying the same general price.

“convenient and visually appealing patient portal”
Pros
It is very convenient to have a website just for patients. When you send a message, it goes through right away. I also think the colors they use are nice and eye-catching.
Cons
Figuring out how to move between the different sections can be a little confusing when you first start. But once you learn your way around, it's actually very easy to use.

“Helpful but results can be alarming”
Pros
It's pretty easy to use and it's helpful because I can contact my doctor without having to call the office and go through all that effort.
Cons
My complaint isn't really about this app itself but sometimes test results or other information get posted on there before your doctor has a chance to call and talk to you about them.

Pros
Athena has everything I need. It's easy to find what I'm looking for, easy to put information into the charts and easy to make changes when I need to. I couldn't ask for anything better.

“Easy, clean & almost perfect tool”
Pros
I love that it is easy to use. I really like that the screen isn't too crowded. Other systems have too many words, buttons and colors all over the place but AthenaOne looks clean and works well. With the new update, I can now see the patient's phone number and insurance right on the screen during intake. I also like that I can find electronic faxes, patient messages and documents all in one spot. I love the athenaCapture feature it makes uploading patient photos and insurance cards seamless. I almost never have problems with it and I'm really grateful for their support. It's helpful to read their articles about common issues and you can easily start a chat or create a case if you need help. I also love how much prep work I can do for patients like getting their intake ready and setting up orders and plans ahead of time.
Cons
I had a few complaints about athenaOne before but they actually fixed them in the most recent update! A couple of problems I still have are that it can be slow to load sometimes. Also, when I go back to the home page, it sometimes switches my view from the clinician layout to the non-clinician one and I have to change it back.

“A seamless app experience”
Pros
It's really easy to find my way around and get the information I need on different topics. I also like that I can use it on my phone without any trouble.
Cons
My only issue is that only some insurance companies use this system. Because of that, you can't easily combine your health information from other doctors who use different software.

“efficient & well-organized for work”
Pros
I think athenaOne is very efficient and well-organized. I find it very easy to switch between scheduling appointments and looking at a patient's chart.
Cons
I don't have many complaints about it. The main problem I run into is that it can be tough to get approval for smaller, less common insurance plans.

“Freezes when printing but great shortcuts”
Pros
My favorite thing about this software is that I can set it up just how I like it. I can choose my own shortcuts for scheduling, billing, opening a chart and even printing the next day's schedule. Because of this, I can get my billing done, check patients in and out accurately, schedule their next appointment and get ready for my work up to a week in advance.
Cons
The thing I like least about it, is that it freezes a lot. This happens all the time at my job whenever I try to print an insurance card or a form that was scanned into a patient's chart.
