organized EMR for clinics

Pros

athenaOne delivered an adaptive, efficient workflow that made day-to-day clinical operations feel more organized than the other EMR systems i've tried. the interface is simple, appointment scheduling and patient management are handled really well and it also improves communication and day-to-day workflow efficiency across the practice. i also appreciated how responsive the system is and how easily i can access key patient information whenever i need it.

Cons

a few workflows and customization options may take some extra training time or tweaking based on how the practice runs. occasionally, updates or changes to certain workflows created a bit of a learning curve for staff when they shifted between processes.

quick messaging with care team

Pros

Messaging my care team has been really convenient, whenever I have a question or need to request an appointment, I can send it right through the app.

Cons

There have been a fair number of bugs and glitches particularly over the past year and it's getting frustrating. I'm hoping the team can get them sorted out soon.

reliable appointment reminders!!

Pros

Athena One has consistently notified me about my appointment reminders without any misses and it also nudges me to handle the appointment scheduling tasks through its user-friendly interface. I haven't run into any bugs or operational issues either. Overall, it's been a top choice for the price, with strong security features and 24/7 customer support.

Cons

Wish I had found it earlier instead of wasting time on other appointment management tools that didn't provide much (if any) protection for my information.

strong all-in-one practice management

Pros

this feels like a solid all-in-one platform for handling scheduling, patient details and day-to-day workflows. the appointment scheduling features, along with the reminders, are a big help and i appreciate that everything stays organized in a single place instead of spread across different tools.

Cons

it does take a bit of time to get the hang of it at the beginning and the pricing can be on the higher side for smaller practices. Also, customer support isn't always as fast as you'd want.

Automated billing saves tons of time

Pros

After a few months of using athenaOne, managing my practice feels noticeably different-in a good way. The automated billing is the biggest win for me. It cuts down a ton of the day-to-day stress since I don't have to obsess over tiny details or keep chasing payments. The whole billing flow just runs so I'm spending more time with patients and less time stuck on paperwork. Claims management has also been a strong point. Everything stays organized and it helps reduce the chances of mistakes. I also like that it includes regular updates which gives me extra confidence that things are moving in the right direction.

Cons

There were a few frustrating moments, mostly around customer support. When I had a question and needed help, the response time ended up being slower than I expected and that made the situation more stressful than it should've been. Functionally, athenaOne delivers but I really wish the customer service matched the quality of the platform.

athena does a lot in one place

Pros

I really liked that Athena bundled everything you'd need right inside the software. It wasn't limited to a basic "starter" version-you can handle the full range of tasks from the same platform without hopping between tools.

Cons

On the flip side, Athena seemed to outsource a good chunk of the service. Billing was handled externally and getting answers or support when something came up turned into a frustrating process.

24/7 support

Pros

It has been consistently dependable with appointment reminders and prompts for the scheduling tasks I need to handle. The interface works well and I haven't run into any bugs or technical problems. It offers excellent value for the cost, with strong security and helpful 24/7 customer support.

Cons

My only real complaint is not finding it sooner after spending so much time on other appointment management tools that offered little to no protection for my information.

all in one platform

Pros

Having scheduling, patient records and daily workflows all in one system makes a big difference. The appointment scheduling and reminder tools are particularly useful and it does a solid job of keeping everything organized in a single place.

Cons

There is definitely a learning curve at the beginning and the cost can feel a little steep for smaller practices. At times, customer support is also slower than expected.

improved the way i run my practice

Pros

after a few months of using it i can honestly say it has significantly improved the way i run my practice. The automated billing has been one of the biggest benefits for me because it saves a lot of time. i don't have to worry as much about the little details or spend time chasing payments anymore. It takes a lot of that burden off my plate so I'm able to focus more on my patients instead of getting buried in paperwork. The claims management feature has also been a real plus. It keeps things well organized and helps reduce mistakes. i also like getting regular updates since that gives me extra peace of mind.

Cons

actually there have been a few frustrating moments, mainly with customer support. Whenever I had a question or needed assistance, the response time was slower than I expected and that definitely added some stress. Even though I value what the platform can do overall, I really wish the customer service matched the quality of the rest of the system.

Highly customizable but feels complex

Pros

It's highly customizable which makes it adaptable to different needs. The macros are really helpful for handling routine tasks and the template creation tools work very well.

Cons

It has a lot of strong features but some of them are complicated to set up especially things like coding templates. It also feels very rigid since you can only complete one task at a time and that ends up making the whole process more time-consuming.

Comprehensive EHR

Pros

I appreciated how much it packed into a single system. It wasn't some stripped-down version of the software, you could handle just about everything you needed from the same platform.

Cons

The part that really caused problems was how much Athena outsourced. Billing, in particular, was handled externally and getting answers about anything related to it was an absolute nightmare.

good navigation!!

Pros

Athena is pretty simple to navigate and I can quickly find what I need. It keeps all my medical records and appointments in one place, plus there's a chat option to message providers which has been genuinely helpful.

Cons

The UI feels really outdated though and the app/website could use a modern redesign. Another thing that bothers me is that there's no option for other providers to get access which makes coordination a bit harder.

Convenient access to appointments

Pros

Being able to book appointments and communicate with my doctor in one place has been really convenient. The platform is easy to access and makes managing care much more simple.

Cons

app doesn't always show many available appointment times. When I call the office directly, I usually get offered more options than what appears online.

organizes everything

Pros

It is fairly simple to use. It keeps medical records, appointments and a chat feature for messaging providers all in one place and that's been really helpful.

Cons

At the same time, the platform feels super outdated. The whole app and website seem overdue for a refresh and I still don't like that there's no way to give other providers access.

Pros

scheduling, medical records, billing and patient communication all built into one platform really helps bring everything together and makes workflows more efficient.

Cons

The messaging alerts don't always come through reliably and document capture can be inconsistent when the system starts lagging. On top of that, it takes a while to learn and the cost is definitely on the high side.

Pros
