“clean interface”
Pros
Customer convenience is a big win here and the interface itself looks really polished. Navigation feels adaptive too-I can locate the information I need fast without wasting time hunting around.
Cons
There's nothing negative to point out. I might be missing a few minor downsides since I haven't used it as heavily as I'd like but overall everything has worked really well.

“Everything is just good!”
Pros
My top priority is delivering a seamless and professional experience for my customers. That's why I value a clean, intuitive interface that not only looks sharp but also lets me access critical information instantly, without any friction or delay.
Cons
I can't really think of anything bad. Maybe it's because I haven't used it enough to find the flaws but everything seemed really good to me.

“Convenient scheduling”
Pros
AthenaOne has been a really convenient medical records platform for managing patient information end to end. It covers everything from tracking patient details and scheduling appointments to diagnostic and procedural coding, plus insurance billing and claims. The interface feels simple and the customer support is responsive. Also, there are strong security features built in which is reassuring when handling sensitive data.
Cons
Occasionally, it seems like the system needs an upgrade or a periodic reboot to pick up the latest software updates and reduce the chances of running into bugs or other minor issues.

“Loved it”
Pros
I really liked how simple the integration and setup felt. Things like the EHR, billing, scheduling and the patient portal are all tied together so you're not bouncing between separate systems or managing multiple logins.
Cons
Pricing gets a bit tangled. Their cut scales as your practice brings in more revenue which can be rough for smaller practices.

“secure all-in-one for patient management”
Pros
I use AthenaOne for tracking patient info, scheduling, coding and insurance billing. It's super handy. The interface is easy to use, the support is great and I feel good about its security.
Cons
Like any software, it needs occasional updates and restarts to stay current and avoid glitches, just normal maintenance to keep everything running well

“Great functionality but costly”
Pros
I really liked how easy it was to start using this system. I thought it would be hard but it wasn't. I love that everything is in one place, the health records, the billing, the appointments and the patient website. It's so nice. I don't have to keep track of lots of different usernames and passwords anymore. It makes my day much easier.
Cons
The pricing can get confusing. The more money your practice makes, the more money they take from you. This isn't great if you're just a small practice.

“multiple categories on home page”
Pros
Having multiple categories right on the home page makes it really convenient to jump straight to what I need.
Cons
When I'm moving through the medical records screens, the back button behavior isn't very clear-more than once it takes me back to the home page instead of where I came from.

“its great!”
Pros
EMR is genuinely simple to use when you're managing multiple patients. It fits well for middle to small practices and I can switch between and work on several records at the same time without hassle.
Cons
It's been working great for me so there aren't any major complaints. One thing to note is that it performs best on a computer with solid specs-on older PCs it may freeze or lag.

“direct messaging helps”
Pros
The online portal is really handy for communication. Being able to message my healthcare provider directly makes it much easier to get in touch when I have questions.
Cons
Accessing my appointment notes on my mobile device is a bit annoying. I can't scroll horizontally so I end up rotating my screen to read everything.

“billing and desk staff were unprofessional”
Pros
The clerk who took my information at the Village Medical location in Scottsdale, AZ (both the front desk and the back office team) was extremely unprofessional. They refused to correct my insurance card details after they messed them up and then told me I should sort it out directly with Medicare. Also, they also got my billing address name, guarantor name and the person identified on the bill wrong-it was someone else's information.
Cons
I ended up calling corporate billing, local billing and also going into the local office myself because my billing and insurance information had been entered incorrectly. Every department I contacted kept sending me in circles, corporate billing told me to contact local billing, local billing told me to contact corporate billing and the local office where I received service claimed they didn't even have a billing department. Overall, I'm really upset with the front desk and back office personnel for how I was treated.

“pcp-only emr”
Pros
This EMR works well for PCPs-at least for what they're built for.
Cons
Beyond that, it's been a frustrating experience. When problems come up, it takes forever for them to fix anything-if they actually get around to it. We also signed up for their billing service and it turned out to be a total waste of time. Their so-called "billing experts" don't seem to have real experience with non-PCP billing which made everything harder instead of better. We requested a rep change but they wouldn't do it and the reps felt more like "lip-service" than real support. Also, their patient follow-up software isn't great and the "bells and whistles" don't really translate into practical help. Yes, you can generate hundreds of reports but when the system doesn't support your diagnosis/therapy decision-making or help you get paid, the reports end up being basically useless. I'm currently in the process of leaving and I'd strongly suggest not using them-or getting out quickly.

“great shortcuts”
Pros
Easy to navigate, with really helpful shortcuts. I also like having the option to view the patient list either by status or by appointment time. The status view is especially convenient-once patients are gone, they disappear from the list so the screen stays clean.
Cons
I'd prefer being able to check out without needing to open the chart first. The tasking system doesn't feel great to me, it involves too many clicks. Also, I wish the status view showed the patient pictures the same way the appointment-time view does.

“Does everything I need!!!”
Pros
This tool is incredibly efficient. I can check in for my medical appointments, schedule new ones and get support for any issues I have whether they're medical or not.
Cons
I have no problems with athenaOne at all. The app does everything I need it to and answers all my questions. I would be very happy to keep using it.

“handy and well-organized home page”
Pros
I find it very handy that the home page has multiple categories right there. It lets me access exactly what I need right away.
Cons
The back button isn't clear when you're looking through medical records. A lot of the time, I accidentally click it and end up back at the home page.

“Works great on new computers”
Pros
The EMR is really easy to handle even with multiple patients. It's a great fit for small to mid-sized practices like mine. I can manage several records at the same time without a problem.
Cons
It works fine for me and I don't have any worries so far. But you do need a computer that's pretty new to run it smoothly. It used to freeze all the time on our older computers.

“Excellent for direct provider communication”
Pros
My favorite part is the online portal for communication. It's so nice being able to message my healthcare provider directly.
Cons

“catastrophic failure in patient care”
Pros
The service at the Village Medical location in Scottsdale and Via Linda was really poor. The front desk clerk was unprofessional and so was the back office. They messed up my insurance card information and then refused to fix it, telling me I had to call Medicare myself. My bill was completely wrong too and it had someone else's name and address on it.
Cons
I called your corporate billing, then I called the local billing office and I even went to the local office where they put my billing and insurance information in wrong. Every single person I talked to told me to call someone else. Corporate said to call local, local said to call corporate and the office where I got my service said they don't even have a billing department. I am so upset with the people at your local office, both at the front desk and in the back. They treated me really poorly.

“Great software but not for all doctors”
Pros
I actually really like using Athena. It's easy for me to find the billing section and my messages. I also like that I can send a chat directly to my providers. It has a lot of great features that I use all the time.
Cons
I like pretty much everything about it. The only thing I don't like is that other doctors I see who don't use it can't get into the system. They can't see my results or billing information and that can be a real pain. It's just not a system that everyone uses yet.

“A waste of time and money!”
Pros
It is good if you're a primary care doctor. But that's about all it's good for.
Cons
They take forever to fix problems, if they even fix them at all. We signed up for their billing service and it was a total waste of time. Their "billing experts" don't know how to handle billing for specialties that aren't primary care. We asked to switch to a different representative but they don't allow that. Their reps just tell you what you want to hear. It was a major waste of our time and money. You should find an EMR that actually specializes in your field and the same goes for a billing service. Their patient follow-up software isn't great either and all their extra features are just okay. You can run hundreds of reports but if the software doesn't help you with diagnosis, treatment choices or getting paid, then those reports are useless. I am in the process of leaving them and I suggest you don't use them or leave if you already are.

“Easy but could use tweaks”
Pros
It's easy to find my way around. I like the shortcuts you can use. I also like that you can choose to see your list of patients by their status or by their appointment time. The status view is nice because once a patient leaves, they disappear from your list.
Cons
I wish I could check a patient out without having to open their whole chart. I also don't really love the task system, it requires too many clicks. Another thing I'd like is to be able to see the patient's picture when I view my list by status, the same way I can when I view it by appointment time.
