“Quite easy to use.”
Pros
The software is very user friendly. The billing and practice management interface is very strong. They give you a lot of templates and also the charting experience is very smooth.
Cons
If you run a specialty practice, you will need to create your own form as the one they provide will cause errors.

“Seems fancy. Works nothing like promised”
Pros
I have been using GE healthcare system’s EMR for quite a while now and I still find it very cumbersome and hard to navigate. It hasn’t worked out that great for me, although I cannot say if it is the same way for people who use it for other services like billing or practice management.
Cons
Although I use it scarcely but printing is considered an important component in any medical record system, yet the system fails to send out files directly to the printer which can be such a hassle. It takes me so many unnecessary extra steps to fax them personally. then the fax takes forever to arrive. What an obsolete method to get a printout! I have also used eClinicalWorks for a brief period and it allowed me to get prints done with just one click. This system, on the other hand, doesn’t even allow me to print attachments. You have to go through so many steps to copy, paste all the files into the system which is very frustrating.

“Highly recommended. Has been a dream to work with”
Pros
GE centricity is the best healthcare software to work with. I have been using it for over a decade now and I have utilized all that it is capable of, and I am thoroughly satisfied with its performance over the years. Centricity is a complete package. It has all the features needed for your EMRs optimal working. it communicates really well with other departments and providers which is helpful. It also handles all the patient documentation, the EMR, and our clearinghouse all in one integrated, well-organized system. The system deals with incoming and outgoing messages with other vendors, leaving little to no space for miscommunication. With other systems, you have to do all that by yourself, put pieces together and keep tabs on related activities.
Cons
The untimely updates can be a nuisance. They take away some of the features and that disrupts the balance, but only temporarily.

“Average service. In desperate need of major upgrades”
Pros
Duplication of patient appointments is relatively easy. This is about the only good thing I can think of. Everything else is a dread. Even listing patient demographics takes forever.
Cons
We use GE healthcare EHR services in an outpatient chiropractor and physiotherapy clinic. Naturally, we are connected with a local hospital which is also GE centricity client. Even though this should ease things but there are always glitches and unusual activities in the system causing miscommunication through and with the system. The software has been nothing but problematic for years now. It is inherently slow. The system is outdated. I find it unnecessarily repetitive and very inefficient. It takes too many steps to any task completion. Loads of errors everywhere. At this point, the only thing keeping us from switching to a better system is the fact that older staff has grown too accustomed to it, considering some of them have been using it for almost fifteen years.

“Amazing for financial management”
Pros
It has been an astonishing expansion to our accounts receivable office with GE Centricity. We have had the capacity to extensively lessen our A/R costs sparing time and finance cost while accelerating the accumulations procedure by 27%.
Cons
It required a touch of time investment to modify all our maturing accounts into the framework. Be that as it may, I trust this would be the situation with general associations. regardless, it is over a fantastic software.

“Average at best. too expensive”
Pros
The system is not too bad but small rigid impracticalities of the interface make it really hard to like anything about the software. The text, for example, is too small. There is no option to enlarge it. None provided within the system, anyway. It is very inconvenient. Leaves you with a constant headache, neck and eyes strain if you have to use it for prolonged periods of time on a regular basis.
Cons
Again, how is it okay for the software and print font to be microscopic with no enlargement option. The customer service has been of no real help in this case either. And it is all the more disappointing considering GE Healthcare was once considered the pioneers of the health IT business. We had our IT staff try finding a way to rectify it, but no use. There is no in-built spellcheck either so we are mainly just stuck with an overpriced bad choice.

“A promising service up till a few years ago”
Pros
I used Centricity for a long time until a few years ago. The system was very simple to get acquainted with, no extensive learning period or training required. You could get your staff to have it set up and running within weeks. I would certainly like to see how much they have advanced over the years. we had this software in a neurology/pain practice a couple of years ago. It was easy to work with since we needed it to be efficient, it rarely disappointed in that regard. There were no complicated features, everything was quite basic and it came at a very reasonable price.
Cons
The reporting feature was not very flexible and intuitive. It was a hassle having to truly penetrate down into all the little details and relevant patterns.

“Highly satisfactory service. Recommended”
Pros
GE healthcare puts their clients’ needs first and it resonates from their products. The system is simple and well-laid out. Facilitates ease of use. All the features are streamlined to optimize workability. accessing data and making changes is very easy and efficient. I have used this software on a daily basis for years and not once have I faced any major issue with its performance. Their customer support staff has been very helpful.
Cons
However rare, there have been instances when the system suddenly crashed in the middle of charting and all the input would be lost. Other than that, there have been minor unusual errors while charting nursing notes such that wrong information would be deleted trying to make changes. It does not allow you to delete formerly added false information sometimes. Nothing too problematic though.

“Great features. Can exhibit cluttering”
Pros
Centricity is great for those who require an all-in-one EMR software with all the bells and whistles. It is impressive how they have squeezed almost every kind of feature you could want in an EMR, into this one system. The platform is robust and dynamic.
Cons
It may because it has all these complex features that the system can come as difficult to learn at first. If you are not tech-savvy, it will be quite a challenge for you to navigate it without proper training since most shortcuts are obscure. Some would even go so far as to say, the software is made by the programmers for the programmers, with very little consideration for medical practice users. The layout is not the nicest to look at. Can seem clunky at times

“Great PACS like workstation. Promising service”
Pros
It can be used as a portable PACS system, it has similar functionalities for queries and retrieval. GE Centricity offers a great Dicom workstation with a multi-modality feature. It can also be used for MPR/MIP and volume rendering. There is a new AW system with these features but its cumbersome and hard to maneuver. Whereas Centricity is very user-friendly and very easy to maintain especially under MS Windows OS.
Cons
The system does not have any features for MPR and volume rendering which, in this day and age, would be of great utility. But so far, the system only supports 2-dimensional imaging.
