“Surprisingly quick to learn”
Pros
The program is incredibly easy to use and even with very little or no training, most users can pick up the basic functions surprisingly quickly during normal use.
Cons
What frustrates me is how repetitive the workflow feels as when I fill in a value for one field, I expect any related fields to automatically populate, instead of having to enter the same information two or three times.

“User-friendly with clear tooltips”
Pros
I find it very user-friendly, with icons and features that I can reach easily. The tools are thorough and less complex and moving my mouse over each icon clearly tells me what that button does which I like.
Cons
The interface and visuals feel a bit dated to me. I also notice a slight lag or momentary pause every time I sign into the application.

“Nice and helpful EMR design”
Pros
I love how flexible the software is designed to be. However, it does take some time to get the hang of things, but once you do, it proves to be an indispensable tool. The flawless user-interface with the dragon speech-to-text dictation makes charting a breeze. I can testify to the significant time I save while charting as compared to my prior experience with EHRs.
Cons
The pages can often exhibit cluttering which tends to be confusing and inconceivable.

“allows smooth cross-discipline communication”
Pros
One thing I appreciate is that it enables smooth communication between different disciplines and gives me access to all the patient information I need.
Cons
I find myself clicking through a lot of different tabs and quite a few aren't user friendly so I cannot always tell what information they're showing.

“reliable support but not user-friendly”
Pros
I appreciate that whenever errors crop up or adjustments are required, the company steps in to help me update our power charts.
Cons
It's not the most user-friendly system all the time but my managers are able to modify our power charts when necessary.

“An incredibly basic and helpful app”
Pros
the app is incredibly basic and it guides me through everything so I can quickly reach the exact information I want without issue. Whether it is upcoming appointments or my lab results, it is all available!
Cons
For me, everything feels fairly basic. So I don't really have much to complain about.

“functional and efficient for documentation”
Pros
Based on my experience, the system becomes easy to use once I learn where everything is located, though its interface feels more like a Windows program than a Mac application. It is functional in design though lacking color and using a small font but this actually helps me document efficiently once I know where to enter and locate information. I also appreciate that it does not enforce the same company-wide documentation requirements that epic sometimes does, particularly when certain sections are irrelevant to a specific patient. I experienced this advantage while working on a pediatric unit using this system and was grateful not to face epic's unnecessary prompts.
Cons
Coming mainly from using ePIC, I had a tough time getting comfortable with this system because ePIC felt simpler and more user friendly to pick up. The interface with the small black boxes and hidden tabs made routine documentation more awkward for me at first. In my role as a nurse, the medication administration section was trickier to navigate than ePIC's version and wasn't very nice, so I initially made some mistakes when charting meds. It was especially difficult when I tried to add items that wouldn't scan from the pharmacy and I ended up having to use an override.

“Clearly organized and easy to find”
Pros
As someone who uses it daily, I have noticed that notes from each profession are clearly organized and really easy to find which makes it easy for me to figure out each patient's condition.
Cons
I honestly cannot come up with anything that needs improving in this electronic medical record.

“Cerner Power chart”
Pros
Patient tracking is easy with this product. I like how all the patient information is all in one place and you can easily locate whatever patient information you need. The system pretty much does all of the necessary tasks that one needs to do in any practice.
Cons
The major and least likely thing about this product is that it is very slow. The system runs extremely slow that it gets on your nerves often.

“Simple navigation with handy templates”
Pros
I really like how simple it is to move through patient lists and I find the lab sections well-organized. I also value being able to save templates ahead of time and the spell-check comes in handy when I review notes and patient charts.
Cons
It's been a struggle to create and store pre-filled notes the way I want, because I haven't managed to save any custom, pre-completed note templates. That limitation means I am stuck using the standard, generic templates that come with the system instead of my tailored ones. On top of that, the platform doesn't auto-save my documents, so whenever I forget to hit save and get logged out I lose hours of documentation. I also cannot pull up recently viewed patient charts even after using the 'search recent' feature.

“Rich function, poor user friendly interface”
Pros
The consultants working at Cerner are very knowledgeable and they are prompt in responding back and dealing with the issues you might be facing. It is popularly used in the US. It has good features like data entry, outpatient care, and computerized order entry system for meaningful use, which is nice.
Cons
The major con of this system is that it very slow, physicians have complained that ordering time takes up to 10 seconds. It takes longer time to enter data each time, which consumes a lot of the physician and patient talk time. The user interface is also hard to learn it isnt user-friendly at all.

“not a good fit for eD workflow”
Pros
I feel the Cerner system is clunky to search and awkward to use when documenting care for our emergency department patients, so the workflow doesn't feel smooth.
Cons
For me, it's hard to get a natural flow when documenting assessments as finding the items I need in the search is really challenging.

“easy remote access, hard to navigate”
Pros
Being able to access the system remotely makes it so convenient as I can get my work done from anywhere which I really appreciate!
Cons
Because certain areas are hard to navigate, I have run into problems and I see other users unaware of features so we cannot use the software's full capacity.

“Powerchart for Long-term care”
Pros
One of the most outstanding qualities of the software is its efficient functionality. It is amazing how it shows trends in related data, like how I can check the vital signs and glance over the lab results, demographic details, orders, and access other information so conveniently.
Cons
I find it inconvenient how it doesnt allow you to duplicate charting information even if it is from the most recent ones. Although, it can be worked around because they do have an option to not make any changes in the previous condition.

“User-friendly and simplifies complex work”
Pros
I really like how easy it is to use. The interface feels very user-friendly and I do not have to go through a million clicks to finish a task. Plus it is simple to save templates and user profiles which makes billing and dictation far easier for me. For a large hospital system, I view this simplicity as a major plus. There is already so much complexity in healthcare IT so I welcome any tool that helps simplify workflows.
Cons
For me, the price to switch is pretty steep and I have found it doesn't play nicely with a lot of other software. If you already use one Cerner product, they generally recommend bundling everything together. At first the pricing appears more attractive but once you're committed you begin to notice additional costs and integration shortcomings that make it less affordable than it seemed during initial research.

“Quick notes with logical layout”
Pros
As a nurse, I find routine notes quick to complete. The layout flows logically, making daily charting simple and easy to maintain.
Cons
I'd like the routine notes to be linked to physician orders and the care plan so I could update both at the same time while finishing my routine note. At the moment I type the order into the summary of my routine note and then have to go into the orders section of the chart to enter it again. It feels like I am repeatedly duplicating the same information because it must be added in multiple parts of the chart.

“Not intuitive ”
Pros
The number of modules that this product offers is great, and the overall function system of this product is impressive I must say. But, the system needs to improve a lot.
Cons
The product is very time consuming, takes a lot of your time just to do one little thing. It is neither user-friendly nor intuition at all. The interface of this system seems quite out-dated. There are so many steps that one goes through just to complete one little task.

“Customizable EMR”
Pros
The best EMR solution that Ive ever used. My queries are swiftly assisted by their customer support service that is answered within 5 minutes or usually less. Regardless of being an Apple or Microsoft user, voice recognition works with both interfaces. A very handy software if you want to go completely paperless.
Cons
The software tends to slow down or not work properly whenever a new update is introduced. Thus, there are issues with adaptability. If this issue is solved, there’s absolutely no doubt that Cerner would be the best EMR out there.
