I really like how easy it is to access and understand the individualized folders that store client demographics and clinical notes. It also links patient and family member portals together effectively.
Cons
Sometimes I find the system slow and it has a tendency to crash when I have two or more portals open at the same time.

Really user friendly and simple to use! I log in every day and almost never run into problems. I have taught others how it works and find most people learn it pretty easily now.
Cons
I'd like a feature that lets me monitor more of my time within the Cerner platform in more detail.

Pros
It is really easy to move around and the layout makes charting patients much easier. Also the visual presentation is clean and pleasant which I find helpful for coordinating care across the team.
Cons
it can take some time to feel confident using it and I often struggle to locate specific documents inside a patient's chart. In my experience it's also not as feature-rich or comprehensive as epic EHR.

One of the things I appreciate most about Cerner Practice Management Software is the sheer number and variety of modules and components bundled with it. I find there are many different features a user can leverage within the application, so there are plenty of options to explore and make use of when tailoring it to our workflows.
Cons
My main frustration with Cerner Practice Management Software is that I feel it comes with an excessive number of modules and components bundled into the package. While there are a lot of features a user can access, the abundance of options can quickly become overwhelming for both myself and our organization. I also think many of those extras are more than we'll actually use, so they end up feeling like unnecessary fluff rather than helpful tools.

“A confusing and unstable nightmare”
Pros
Not much to praise. There was some level of integration but it demanded an excessive amount of clicking to accomplish tasks. Thankfully I lucked into workarounds learned in a prior role in another department which helped a bit. My exposure was very brief. Training felt messy because trainers showed so many different methods for the same task. In the short time I had with it, I couldn't identify any real positives.
Cons
Having multiple ways to complete the same process made training a nightmare. One small error could turn troubleshooting into a confusing ordeal. The system was unstable as I had to reboot it several times. When other clinics went live, I witnessed total disarray. My own medical safety felt threatened during our GoLive. A Cerner representative was present but they confessed they only provided an hour of training. I have been part of a very successful GoLive with a different vendor while not flawless, the team felt supported and outstanding vendor technical help was on hand.

It is pretty easy to get around once you become familiar with it. And when I am documenting a patient's vital signs, I can smoothly tab to the next field without leaving the keyboard and that workflow is a real time-saver given how much data we have to enter for every single patient during my shifts.
Cons
It does take a fair amount of time to get comfortable with Cerner and I think the abundance of pages and tabs can feel overwhelming. I have noticed the same data shows up in multiple places sometimes which creates confusion when entries don't match across sections, so reconciling discrepancies can be frustrating and time-consuming.

I really like that all patient information is consolidated into a single interface such as physician notes, physical therapy documentation, labs, vital signs and H&P unlike our old EMR which scattered some details and required a separate program just to view the H&P.
Cons
In my experience, there seem to be multiple versions of Cerner and this build lacks several features we previously relied on to create new patient consults. At other hospitals where I have used Cerner, routine screenings like the daily Braden that would trigger a new consult, stroke protocols and similar alerts automatically pushed consults into our census task list but that automation isn't present here.

the Cerner system reasonably easy to use and it's adopted by many different health systems, so it feels familiar across a range of organizations.
Cons
My organization is moving away from Cerner because far more systems use epic and for smooth, timely exchanges of patient data between institutions we need better interoperability. Since effective communication between health systems is crucial given patient movement, we won't continue using Cerner's services going forward.
