“Well-organized solution”
Pros
Cerners out-of-the-box solution is simple to use, and in my experience, it was simple to deploy and teach caregivers how to use it.

“User friendly with a very few hidden menus”
Pros
I have found Cerner to be pretty user friendly and simple to use. Plus there are not many hidden menus or features that are difficult to locate. And whether I have prior experience with electronic medical records or not, I can learn it fairly quickly and use it with ease.
Cons
Sometimes I run into the limitation of only being able to have two patient charts open at once. This becomes a real pain when trying to juggle multiple tasks that require accessing several records. So I would really appreciate an option to open more than two charts simultaneously.

“Neatly organized by department”
Pros
In my experience, the system includes separate tabs for different departments such as lab, dietary, pharmacy which keeps all the results neatly organized and easy to find.
Cons
it only supplies the underlying infrastructure for many features, so my organization has to rely on our IT team to build things like template functions because it won't implement those builds for us.

“Broad access but feels outdated”
Pros
i think its easy to use and it's supported across a large number of facilities which makes it easy for me to access and work within.
Cons
It feels several years behind when it comes to technology updates, whereas competitors like epic have rolled out many new features and become much more user- and technology-friendly.

“affordable but needs many customizations”
Pros
Cerner EHR offers a fairly affordable, feature-rich platform that works well for acute care and most specialty environments.
Cons
One thing I noticed is that it often needs many one-off customizations depending on the specialty I work in.

“creates a lot of confusion”
Pros
I really like the fact about the software is that I can customize nearly every aspect of it to fit how I work.
Cons
While there are a number of features I find annoying, the main problem for me is that the program offers multiple ways to perform the same task. Because of that, colleagues often take different approaches which causes confusion, miscommunication and occasionally important items falling through the cracks during our workflow.

“pretty broken billing”
Pros
This feature offers significant customization options, allowing me to tailor to specific templates and user roles for better documentation. Furthermore its detailed security settings such as menu groups, access controls and user credentials allow for precise control over what each staff member can view and do.
Cons
Our organization has experienced significant difficulties with the billing module as we bill across a mix of commercial and state PMAP/Medicare/Medical Assistance payors. We are forced to rely on a third-party clearinghouse and the Cerner system requires a lot of manual claim editing and hands-on tracking for issues that are often non-clinical. Plus the reporting tools in the older Cerner behavioral health product are essentially unusable for our needs. We previewed the newer Millennium product but it felt less configurable and less user-friendly than other behavioral health EHRs. Currently, to produce clinical, billing and operational reports, we must export data as .csv files and load them into Microsoft Access databases because reporting and follow-up are handled through Microsoft tools rather than natively in Cerner. Additionally Cerner headquarters support has been disappointing. We have an unresolved issue related to a minor upgrade that is affecting parts of our clinical documentation. We emphasized the need for an immediate resolution but their response has been inconsistent. As some weeks we receive attention and other times we hear nothing for up to three weeks. This issue has persisted for three months and despite contacting them at least twice weekly for updates, we still have no timeline for a fix.

Pros
