“Helpful colored icons for navigation”
Pros
I appreciate the colored icons that help me identify sections and assignments easily
Cons
One thing I dislike is the lack of a simple way to enter notes without creating a clinical event. If I cannot edit documents or a nursing note, it doesn't appear on the flow chart, so hardly anyone ever sees it unless they perform chart reviews

“highly customizable and well-supported”
Pros
I find the system very easy to use and it appears to offer a high degree of customization.
Cons
I haven't really run into anything I actively dislike. Since I am not the administrator, I don't handle fixes myself but whenever an issue pops up it seems to get resolved quickly. The change requests I have submitted to modify our Cerner charting have been completed when management approved them. They do roll out a lot of updates that cause downtime, however which seems pretty standard to me.

“effectively organizes all records”
Pros
I find it effectively organizes all of the records and offers a varied setup that lets me capture everything I need.
Cons
For me, it's not as user friendly as other EMR systems such as epic and I have to use extra clicks to reach the screens I want.

“A user-friendly transition from epic”
Pros
The interface felt pretty user friendly and I found it easy to move over to Cerner after using epic at my previous workplace.
Cons
Switching between the many different screens gets frustrating and I have run into problems where I'll compose notes in one window, leave that window to pull up other information and then come back to find my note lost so I have to rewrite it from scratch.

“Easiness compared to other products”
Pros
Compared to other systems, Cerner stands out for its simplicity, accuracy in information population, and minimal system errors.
Cons
Certain functions, like time frames for lab results, and document note notifications, could be improved for smoother usage.

“practical and functional tool”
Pros
Recently I began a new position using PowerChart, after having worked with epicCare before. There's definitely an adjustment period, so you should consider my thoughts cautiously. Like any transition, I have had to mentally adapt from familiar workflows to new ones. Overall I find it quite user-friendly. My colleagues seem to be fans of the program. It feels direct, functional and very practical for clinical work every single day.
Cons
I really appreciated how customizable and appealing epic felt. I'd like this software to have more colorful themes and let me make it my own easily. I often look at this for over 12 hours a day, so overall appearance really matters to me.

“Handles tasks but lacks guidance”
Pros
I find the program works and handles the tasks I need but it does take quite a while before I really get comfortable using it.
Cons
Learning this software felt like it took forever and even now after using it for a year and a half I still find myself asking, where did I chart that one tiny detail that one time? It simply isn't as user friendly as other systems I have worked with. With those other platforms I often felt guided to complete a patient's chart through clear prompts or a checklist which reduced worry. This one doesn't give me that reassurance, so I frequently end up hoping I remembered to document everything and end the day triple checking my notes before I leave.

“Simple charting in one place”
Pros
I really like that every record is consolidated in one place and that charting is fairly simple. Our team implemented this software for our company about a year ago.
Cons
I find it somewhat tricky to pick up the program as there are occasional glitches here and there. We also experience a lot of downtime when updates roll out.

“Works well for us overall”
Pros
I have noticed it works well at times and provides the information that's needed for patient information.
Cons
From my perspective, PowerChart could be much better if it had newer software that supports my shortcuts and makes it easier to find things.

“extremely user-friendly and reliable”
Pros
Cerner is extremely user-friendly and reliable. I think the Ad Hoc function is its standout feature, something epic doesn't offer. Plus its navigation is very simple and quick to learn.
Cons
I have to use Athena to check patients in and I don't have access to external medical records yet although they've begun importing Wheaten Franciscan records.

“Simple, reliable and never down”
Pros
I have found this EMR really simple to use and I can usually locate what I need without fuss. In my experience the system isn't overly complex when entering or saving data and it feels user friendly. I also have not faced any system shutdowns or pauses while I have been using it which is a big relief.
Cons
Honestly I notice that medication orders do not include distinct indication labels like I have heard they do on epic. I feel that having those labels would streamline ordering and likely reduce mistakes, making the whole process safer and more simpler.

“Very user-friendly and highly customizable”
Pros
I have found it very user-friendly and highly customizable and it's simple for me to organize all the relevant information within the electronic health record.
Cons
There are times when I have to click through too many menus and screens before I reach the information I need and the menu structure can feel a bit cluttered and disorganized at times.

“Better than paper but slows reviews”
Pros
I have found it far superior to paper charting and it really helps our team communicate across different disciplines.
Cons
Compared to other EMR solutions, it doesn't feel as user friendly or capable, in my experience. Chart reviews take me much longer and because documentation relies heavily on flowsheets, I often have trouble locating key details or communicating effectively.

“offer endless customization for patient views”
Pros
There are so many customization choices such as I can construct my own page and pull data from various sources to assemble a single, all-in-one view for easy patient assessment.
Cons
At first I found it quite overwhelming to use and there are quirky little behaviors you'll have to learn. After spending some time with it, things settle down and it becomes much easier to use. I did have to jot down a few step by step notes because certain functions aren't very user friendly.

“reliable but slows during updates”
Pros
For our team, we have found Cerner PowerChart to be reliable charting software for our organization. PowerChart gives fast access to all of the key patient information we need. Also it is easy to use and excellent for documentation.
Cons
I have noticed that the software can run quite slowly. It seems particularly sluggish during software updates which ends up dragging out the workday and makes it harder for me to chart as efficiently as I'd like.

“shortcuts are very helpful”
Pros
The shortcuts in PowerChart were pretty cool. Also I liked how they sped up common tasks and made some parts of my workflow easier.
Cons
When I used PowerChart every day for my EMR, it did the job but wasn't great. I often felt it wasn't as user-friendly as I wanted and getting through tasks required far too many clicks.
