“Fair EMR for small practice; however good luck trying to get your data exported once you discontinue”
Pros
Installation was relatively easy, and there was decent integration with Spruce and Hint software for a direct pay practice.
Cons
The user interface is clunky, not conducive to physicians, and challenging to send large volume orders without excessive keystrokes or order entries. Simultaneously sending multiple letters or documents to others is not possible.

Pros
The chart flow check-up is effortless. They give out customizable templates which let you set up according to your practice's need. Their billing service is great too.

I am unable to delete a few tags. I don't know if that's an outside or inside issue.

“A software built specifically for doctors! ”
Pros
Best thing about elation is that it is built specifically for medical professionals. Biggest advantage that I had was, it operates on single screen for multiple functions. Very fast as compared to other EHR software.
Cons
Data migration is a bit slow but otherwise works great for e-billing.

“Secure and simple patient communication”
Pros
As a patient, I find this to be an excellent program for secure, private communication between me and my doctor. It's simple to navigate and makes exchanging information much quicker, so responses come faster on both sides.
Cons
I haven't come across any real drawbacks, my overall experience as a patient-user has been very positive. It's strengthened my ability to communicate with my medical professional and consistently gets me fast answers to my questions.

“Poor data migration experience”
Pros
What I appreciate is the feature that lets me set reminders and follow up and I find the tracking easy to use.
Cons
Honestly, I lost a huge amount of information from my previous EHR after switching and knowing what I know now I wouldn't have made the change. The vendor's data migration team repeatedly told me the old data couldn't be used or mapped into the new charts. Frustrated, I brought in an independent analyst who ended up having to walk their migration staff through how to actually map the records. One of the major parts of the migration was supposed to include every patient's medications, allergies and medical history but the platform's migration team insisted that was impossible. The outside analyst explained that while it was definitely going to be a lot of work and required a significant time investment, it was doable, and that's precisely why the vendor chose not to tackle it. Even the limited set of data they agreed to migrate was handled poorly: they missed every deadline by weeks or even months. We were promised multiple times that tasks would be completed by certain dates or that we'd get status updates by day's end and yet those commitments never materialized. My staff had to call over and over again only to face silence.

“I wouldn't recommend any other software”
Pros
ElationHealth EHR software is the best software for general medical practices. It helps you communicate with your patient better, the customer service is amazing and the documentation has become much easier.
Cons
Maybe this software could use some more email blasts.

“Lovely experience, would recommend”
Pros
According to me, the software is perfect. All the information is so perfectly presented. My work gets done very smoothly.
Cons
There is literally one problem that I have and it is the mobile app. it lacks a lot of features and it lags a lot. There is no flaw that I can point out other than the app.

“simple lab and pharmacy integration”
Pros
One thing I really like is that it connects with every pharmacy and the major labs. It makes life so much easier when I'm managing a hectic practice and cuts down a ton of expense on staff time spent scanning paperwork.
Cons
I'd prefer to have someone pick up the phone and answer the help desk directly, because relying on email and waiting a day or two for a reply feels less effective.

“Smooth multidisciplinary collaboration”
Pros
I'm really pleased with how well this tool performs. In our multidisciplinary medical practice, it lets us collaborate smoothly on patient care among a variety of different specialties.
Cons
My biggest annoyance with this tool is the slightly awkward referral workflow. We've learned to work around the clunkiness but honestly the software needs clearer, smoother referral handling to be better.

“Easy-to-use with integrated fax”
Pros
Very easy to use, I really value the built-in fax capability, the way it links with labs and hospitals for lab orders and imaging, the quick customer support and how smoothly documents upload.
Cons
Reports never update and there's no way to create a new report template which is frustrating. I'm always forced to file Dermatology documents under Misc because there's no Derm category and that same problem affects several other specialties so I end up dumping many items into Misc, making them hard to locate later. It's particularly annoying that I can't correct or change any of the lab values once they've been added to a trend, having to re-trend an entire result because RBC shows 55.2 instead of 5.52 wastes time and feels avoidable. It would also be really useful to have in-app texting or emailing so I could contact patients directly from this system. Finally, the patient portal needs work, patients currently can't view labs or imaging on their own and I'd like an option to let them access those reports instead of having to send each one to them individually.

“Efficient single-page interface”
Pros
What I appreciate most is how easy it is to use. I can see almost everything I could ever need on a single page and making notes is quick and efficient, particularly for follow-up visits.
Cons
it doesn't interface with labs like Labcorp or Sonora and I think it also lacks any built-in billing software.

“user friendly patient overview”
Pros
It's easy to use, patient details show on one screen, few glitches and I find it more user-friendly than other EHRs I've used
Cons
I end up paying for separate billing software on top of this tool's fee and there's absolutely no discount for mid-level prescribers. There's no way to reach anyone except by email for problems which drives me nuts and they maybe respond one time in ten within the timeframe they promise to fix things. When I signed up in 4/2017 the salesperson said they'd introduce online booking for established patients over the summer and by 12/17 I still hadn't heard anything about adding that feature.

“simple EMR with revenue boost”
Pros
I had tried two different EMRs before we bought this one for our practice and the contrast between them and this platform is like night and day. The system is easy, simple and really boosts our productivity. My entire team was up and running with it within a day of purchase and after just one month of use our revenue jumped by 30%. The company was fantastic throughout onboarding, very responsive and available whenever we had questions. I've told everyone I know who's in the market for an EMR about this product and I truly can't emphasize enough how pleased I am with both the software and the support team.
Cons
We haven't found any significant problems with this software whatsoever. Over the three months we've been using it, our team has been thoroughly pleased with its performance and support.

“best EMR”
Pros
After testing two different EMRs first, I can honestly say this one blew them out of the water. It's miles better than what we tried before, simple, simple to pick up and the patient portal actually works smoothly. Best of all, our revenue increased by about 30% once we switched which was a game changer for the practice. I'm genuinely excited about every part of it and now tell any colleague who asks to give it a shot. Great product and excellent customer support, I can't praise it enough.
Cons
Honestly, there aren't any complaints from my side. As I mentioned, I'm really pleased with how it handles record keeping, scheduling, patient messaging and communication between offices. Nothing about the product has left me disappointed so far.

“Frustrating user experience and UX issues”
Pros
search feature is smart and implemented really well and I appreciate the free integrations with laboratory systems that let me import lab results as structured data instead of receiving them as scanned images of faxed pages.
Cons
I'm also a programmer who works on web design and UI/UX, so the user experience here really rubs me the wrong way. The UX is poor, frankly it sucks, although I'll admit that's true of most EMRs I've tried. For a variety of reasons, these companies seem not to give a damn about the physician's user experience and things that are taken for granted in other areas of tech are absent here: accessibility (a11y), consistent typographic rhythm and sensible type size/line width for readability, adequate text contrast and thoughtful material-design-like interfaces are basically foreign concepts in the medical software space. There's no proper mobile web version either, they only recently tossed an iPhone app into the App Store, as if it's still 2011. On the web you get the desktop site verbatim which forces me to constantly pinch and zoom because nobody bothered to write media queries in the CSS and that wastes time and feels sloppy.

“Easy setup and helpful support”
Pros
I found the setup and migration easy. The sales team and support staff have been very helpful and the system meets most of our medical charting needs.
Cons
The patient portal isn't very family-friendly, when parents have several kids I end up having to set up and remember separate email addresses and logins for each child which is a hassle. There are also small improvements I'd like to see, such as being able to include Handouts directly in visit note templates or attach files when replying to Passport messages. These aren't huge missing features but without them my staff has to perform extra steps and spend more time charting than we'd prefer.

“Quick patient access on one screen”
Pros
I'm able to easily connect with other physicians and pull up all of a patient's details on one screen and having fewer clicks makes my work go much faster.
Cons
Okay so.... I'd really appreciate it if some of the extra features they promised when I picked this EHR were actually in development, I was told they were building a camera app for taking clinical photos but after using the system I still haven't seen any sign of that feature.
