Working as an RN case manager, I'm in Elation multiple times throughout the day and one thing I really appreciate is how user-friendly it is to use. It makes pulling up patients' medical records and arranging visits with our nurse practitioners much more efficient so those daily tasks take less time and effort.
Cons
One issue I run into is that information updates are often delayed by a few days which can be frustrating when timely details matter. I'd also really like to see more thorough summaries for ER visits and hospitalizations.

So many! I’ve been working with Elations for about 6 years and they’ve just gone downhill. Their PM side is poor, if you work with anything besides Medicare, don’t bother with it. The 2-factor authentication is a requirement which makes it really annoying. I’ve received complaints from every one of our employees and providers on it. Also, if your annual renewal just passed and a provider leaves the practice, you’re on the hook for a whole year, and there’s nothing you can do as they refuse to work with you. Oh, and good luck actually getting ahold of anyone in their support team. It’s all done via email so if you have an urgent issue, there’s no one you can call.

The ease of use is the best part. I can teach a new provider the basics in just a few minutes. The patient charts are laid out by date and time, so you can either scroll or just use the search to find what you need. Usually the information is only 2 or 3 clicks away. You don't have to go through screen after screen. I once used a system where you had to click through 31 screens just to get to the front patient page! With this one, it's 1 or 2 clicks and you're there. Also if you accidentally delete a note, it's really easy to get it back.
Cons
Terrible customer support. You're more likely to get the President on the phone than to get someone from Elation to answer or call you back. The help files are getting better but are still pretty useless. You can waste hours trying to fix a problem that a two-minute phone call could solve. I've used Elation for over 10 years and they just don't listen when we tell them they need to answer the phone. The scheduling also needs work. To change an appointment, you have to delete it and then reschedule it in the new time slot. There's no drag-and-drop. You can't schedule repeat visits for patients but you can for staff meetings. Since I see all my patients every month, I have to manually schedule each one, every single month.

I am over two weeks into my new job and I still can't schedule a single patient because they haven't finished setting up our scheduling software. For me, no patients means no income, even though I have a list of people waiting to sign up. Our office manager emails them daily and just gets generic replies saying they're "working on it." Getting an estimated wait time has been like pulling teeth. I emailed them myself three days ago asking for a rough estimate and an explanation for the delay and I haven't heard back. Also, the training videos are just quick, silent clips of someone clicking around with no explanation. And the most frustrating part? I'm paying for this but I can't even use it.

I had a great experience working with support team during the onboarding process. Unfortunately, that's about the only positive part of my experience so far. Everything else has been disappointing.

DO NOT SIGN A CONTRACT WITH THIS COMPANY!!! I regret ever giving Elation Health my time and money. I paid $9,264 upfront for 12 months for three providers to save $50 a month each, thinking it was a great deal. But turns out, you need to pay extra for their integration partners. I raised my concerns with them and asked for a refund for the 11 months I won't be using their system but they basically just shrugged it off. One of my providers couldn't even get her token to work and the other wasn't onboarded yet. We ended up trying the system for only two days before we had to give up. It didn't even allow us to collect payments, sell products, manage inventory, prescribe in-house meds or print patient labels. When I asked for help, it took over 24 hours to get a response. Customer support was awful and they didn't care that it was affecting patient care. In the end I had to walk away and trust me, there are way better options out there.

Cons
I've heard a lot about how bad the customer support is and I'm a bit worried. Luckily, nothing major has gone wrong for me so far and I've been able to get answers from Elation's website, forums or their Facebook groups. But I'm still concerned about the cost. It's affordable for me now but I've seen complaints online about the prices creeping up over time and I'm afraid I'll get stuck paying more than I should later on.

When I first joined, I was really impressed with their auto-text reminders for appointments. plus I love the option to hire a part-time employee, it's been a real help.
Cons
Choosing Elation has cost me a lot of time and money. When I first signed up, the system seemed to meet all my needs. But once I was fully onboard, they removed important features that were key to my decision. Their solution? Hire more staff to deal with the added workload, which just added to the cost. When I found a software that could fill the gap, Elation said I could integrate it but only if I paid for development time and an extra $500 per month per provider. That's an ongoing cost just to fix a problem It created. On top of that, It changed the definition of "part-time" providers without warning. Now, I have to pay full-time rates for a provider who sees patients only a few hours a week. It feels totally unreasonable. Customer service has been nonexistent and overall, this has been a huge mistake for my business.

I like that I do not have to worry about chart layout during a charting process as the chart layout is already set and I just have to fill in the boxes. Plus the design is quite intuitive and descriptors they use are suitable. Also everything is available on the one page so you do not feel a need to look at the previous charts even for the labs. Referrals can be written and sent directly from the chart. Most user boxes are draggable and rearrangeable. All this is something that makes our job simple and saves us a lot of time too.
Cons
To move down a line while typing in a box, I have to press "shift + enter" instead of moving to the next box which I do not like. Another issue is that there is "x" in the bottom right box, which erases everything if you click on it, and there is no way to get it back even with the "ctrl Z" option. Because of this I avoid writing lengthy content. I have complained about it multiple times, but nothing has happened to this date. Also fullscript integration is not available.

Plus I want to take a moment to thank you support team for helping me set up my Elation EHR and integrate it with Spruce, electronic fax, and labs. It's been a tough process to open a clinic in just 3 months. I'm especially grateful to those who made the transition smooth and stress-free. Whenever something was not right, they took the lead to fix it quickly and kept in regular contact. They even made herself available by phone after hours and on weekends, showing a level of commitment and dedication that reminded me of how I approach my work as a physician. However, I don't expect that from others, since it is rare to see this kind of dedication.
