Security and value, delivered

Pros

This tool is worth every penny. Not only is it incredibly cost-effective for everything it does but I also have total peace of mind knowing that all our patient data is locked down and secure. It's a win-win.

Cons

There is one reason I didn't like this.. there was a real learning curve to figure it out.

customizable & simple tool

Pros

It's alright. I like that I can build my own dashboards and add or hide stuff with the page composer. It's also got some other handy features for procurement and scheduling. And if I'm going on vacation, it's super easy to hand over my approval rights to someone else.

Cons

Nothing bad, it looks good.

Powerful once you learn it

Pros

Elation just makes managing patients and their records simple and efficient. It's totally worth the money. The security is great too and it gives me confidence that all our sensitive patient data is safe.

Cons

It's a bit tough to learn at first especially if you're new to digital tools. The billing part feels complicated and could be simpler. Some of the advanced features are hard to find unless you've had proper training.

fast results but cluttered messaging function

Pros

I love that it gives me a direct way to message my provider and ask questions. I also get my results information really fast.

Cons

Everything is in a mail format. It's a pain to find a result from a past visit because you have to sort through a ton of messages.

support and billing let us down

Pros

It was easy to learn how to use. Everything I need is right there on the main page for each chart so it's easy to use. Not much else to say, really.

Cons

The customer support is frustrating, you can't ever get a real person on the phone when you have an urgent issue. Also they've stepped into the billing "world" and they really shouldn't have.

Administration issues took it down

Pros

They have a good intra-office messaging system.

Cons

So many! I’ve been working with Elations for about 6 years and they’ve just gone downhill. Their PM side is poor, if you work with anything besides Medicare, don’t bother with it. The 2-factor authentication is a requirement which makes it really annoying. I’ve received complaints from every one of our employees and providers on it. Also, if your annual renewal just passed and a provider leaves the practice, you’re on the hook for a whole year, and there’s nothing you can do as they refuse to work with you. Oh, and good luck actually getting ahold of anyone in their support team. It’s all done via email so if you have an urgent issue, there’s no one you can call.

Truly integrated practice hub

Pros

I find it really easy to move from scheduling to billing to charting. I also use the option to send out automated messages to patients which is a nice touch.

Cons

It does have a learning curve but it's not really any worse than other medical software out there.

customizable, despite minor glitches

Pros

My team and I all thought this platform was user-friendly and easy to figure out. The support team was also a great help whenever we had questions. My team specifically liked that they could customize the software to fit how they search for things.

Cons

This app can be a bit pricey if you have a large team. We also noticed it sometimes has minor glitches, maybe from too many people downloading things at once. We had some trouble getting it to work with our other software but the support team was great.

Simple online tool but missing android app

Pros

The online interface is simple and it keeps all my data in one place. Booking appointments is very easy and it's easy to use for email.

Cons

There's no Android app which leaves a huge part of the population out. It's very sad, annoying and frustrating. I can't look anything up or share information while I'm at my doctor's appointments.

product i deeply regret using

Pros

I honestly wouldn't recommend going with Elation. They had so many bad reviews that they ended up taking down their Google My Business profile.

Cons

The customer service sucks, the product doesn't deliver and the Note Assist feature is awful. I totally regret ever using their product.

Easy to use but terrible customer support

Pros

The ease of use is the best part. I can teach a new provider the basics in just a few minutes. The patient charts are laid out by date and time, so you can either scroll or just use the search to find what you need. Usually the information is only 2 or 3 clicks away. You don't have to go through screen after screen. I once used a system where you had to click through 31 screens just to get to the front patient page! With this one, it's 1 or 2 clicks and you're there. Also if you accidentally delete a note, it's really easy to get it back.

Cons

Terrible customer support. You're more likely to get the President on the phone than to get someone from Elation to answer or call you back. The help files are getting better but are still pretty useless. You can waste hours trying to fix a problem that a two-minute phone call could solve. I've used Elation for over 10 years and they just don't listen when we tell them they need to answer the phone. The scheduling also needs work. To change an appointment, you have to delete it and then reschedule it in the new time slot. There's no drag-and-drop. You can't schedule repeat visits for patients but you can for staff meetings. Since I see all my patients every month, I have to manually schedule each one, every single month.

What I learned from 8 years of using Elation

Pros

I really like using It for tracking my office visits. It's set up just the way I like it, simple, fast and easy to work with. Everything is super easy for me and I can adjust it to fit my needs perfectly. It really helps me get my work done without any problem and that's exactly what I need.

Cons

The iPhone app: Honestly, it's pretty bad. The login process is a Issue and it doesn't have nearly enough features. It hasn't really made any effort over the years to improve it either.

Promising features, broken implementation

Pros

From what I've seen when people use it and when I've written mock notes, the workflows seem pretty efficient.

Cons

I am over two weeks into my new job and I still can't schedule a single patient because they haven't finished setting up our scheduling software. For me, no patients means no income, even though I have a list of people waiting to sign up. Our office manager emails them daily and just gets generic replies saying they're "working on it." Getting an estimated wait time has been like pulling teeth. I emailed them myself three days ago asking for a rough estimate and an explanation for the delay and I haven't heard back. Also, the training videos are just quick, silent clips of someone clicking around with no explanation. And the most frustrating part? I'm paying for this but I can't even use it.

expensive and decline in quality

Pros

It used to be amazing. The support was excellent, the staff was helpful and quick to respond and there were no hidden fees. I've been with them for ten years. But now that they've won awards and added more features, they charge for everything and raised their base fee. The support staff isn't very helpful anymore either.

Cons

If you live on the East Coast like I do, you still can't integrate with a lot of systems because they're a California-based company.

Elation Health contract? Don't do it!

Pros

I had a great experience working with support team during the onboarding process. Unfortunately, that's about the only positive part of my experience so far. Everything else has been disappointing.

Cons

DO NOT SIGN A CONTRACT WITH THIS COMPANY!!! I regret ever giving Elation Health my time and money. I paid $9,264 upfront for 12 months for three providers to save $50 a month each, thinking it was a great deal. But turns out, you need to pay extra for their integration partners. I raised my concerns with them and asked for a refund for the 11 months I won't be using their system but they basically just shrugged it off. One of my providers couldn't even get her token to work and the other wasn't onboarded yet. We ended up trying the system for only two days before we had to give up. It didn't even allow us to collect payments, sell products, manage inventory, prescribe in-house meds or print patient labels. When I asked for help, it took over 24 hours to get a response. Customer support was awful and they didn't care that it was affecting patient care. In the end I had to walk away and trust me, there are way better options out there.

Really happy with it so far

Pros

I switched from a practice that used a clunky, outdated EMR that felt stuck in the past. I decided to go with It for my new practice and honestly, I'm so glad I did. It just works so well! It's modern and actually has the features you'd expect from a tech system today. The things I can do with Elation are just so much more logical and useful compared to what I had before.

Cons

I've heard a lot about how bad the customer support is and I'm a bit worried. Luckily, nothing major has gone wrong for me so far and I've been able to get answers from Elation's website, forums or their Facebook groups. But I'm still concerned about the cost. It's affordable for me now but I've seen complaints online about the prices creeping up over time and I'm afraid I'll get stuck paying more than I should later on.
