“Patient privacy
Pros
The system is super easy to use and keeps patient privacy in check. It also captures patient info really efficiently.
Cons
Honestly, I don't have anything bad to say about Epic. It's pretty intuitive and straightforward to use. I'm just not sure if it has any AI features or plan on having so.

“Improves care coordination
Pros
The centralized EHR really boosts care coordination and continuity. Sharing data between departments and systems is easy, and the customizable templates speed up documentation.
Cons
Its pretty difficult to learn for clinicians and staff. Customization seems to be limited by institutional settings, and the amount of data entry can be exhausting for the clinician. You also experience a lot of workflow disruptions during the go-live phase.

“Ease in scheduling patients
Pros
It's so simple to schedule patients and quickly jump into their chart from the DAR.
Cons
The overall interface can feel clunky, and it takes way too many steps to get to anything. For example, booking appointments involves a ton of selections before you can actually schedule something.

“Regular updates make it even better
Pros
I love the yearly upgrades! They make navigating patient charts and information super easy.
Cons
I've been using Epic for the last 9 years and haven't had any issues. Every time there's an upgrade, I learn new options and shortcuts.

“Integration makes information easily accessible
Pros
Integrating multiple practices made it super easy for me to gather patient information all in one place.
Cons
One thing that annoys me about Epic is that if certain practices don't have specific parts in their version, you can't share information between them.

“Simple interface but too many clicks
Pros
Epic is really easy to use. The patient messaging system is kind of like email, and the interface is simple to navigate.
Cons
There are just too many clicks! The information isn't as streamlined as it could be, and I end up entering the same details multiple times.

“Closest alternative for paper charts
Pros
EPIC is hands down the best EMR I've used. The interfaces are really user-friendly. I do quality audits, and I always find the data I need easily. It's logically laid out, and for those of us who've spent years with paper charts, EPIC is the closest thing to that.
Cons
The reporting side of EPIC isn't as user-friendly as the clinical side. I'm a computer geek, and I still had to reach out to support a lot when trying to build reports in EPIC.

“Ease and clarity
Pros
The search function is super easy, and the information is displayed clearly. The UI is clean and easy to navigate.
Cons
Epic is highly customizable, which is awesome, but it can also be a downside. Poorly implemented customizations can lead to inefficiencies, like difficulty filtering or organizing records.

“All in one place
Pros
It's so easy to find patient info all in one place. I work in home health, and it helps me complete required face-to-face documentation and find correct dates and diagnosis for hospitalized patients.
Cons
I'd love the option to select more than one encounter or note at a time to print and merge them together.

“Efficient but expensive
Pros
We used this for a large hospital practice, and it worked perfectly for our huge customer base. We were able to do cloud hosting, and integrating it with Epic Practice Management was very easy so no issues with the EMR charts.
Cons
Epic is really expensive probably because it's used on a large scale.

Pros
With Epic, our clients can get the medical care they need at home because it supports home-based workflows. We can run the software on a laptop or iPad, which is a big plus.

“Ease of access
Pros
What I really like about Epic is having access to all the patient health info from a central platform that's widely used in the industry.
Cons
What I don't like about Epic is that it holds so much PHI for each patient, the user interface can be a bit confusing for first-time users trying to find the information they need.

“Overall amazing
Pros
It's easy to learn and quick for documentation. I can tab through items, and there's a lot of flexibility in how I can set things up.
Cons
I couldn't access Epic unless I was at work using the office computers, so couldn't document from home.
