I'm a big fan of HENO

Pros

I love how the software is set up. While it takes some time to learn, it's very comprehensive. The onboarding process is excellent and the support team is always available to guide me through the learning process. I went live with the software on June 1st and I anticipated it might take several months before seeing money in my account. However, I started seeing money within the first month and was up to full speed by the second month. Our biller is fantastic and responds to our questions within minutes to a day. I can sleep soundly knowing I have better control over every aspect of my private practice.

Cons

The first few weeks involve a learning curve, and initially, it feels like I am learning a new language because in a way it is. However, the time I invested was worth it. Also the onboarding team has been very helpful.

EMR, you actually like working with

Pros

Heno is the simplest EMR I have used. It has significantly increased my efficiency and frees up time every day.

Cons

When I open multiple tabs for different patients throughout the day, I often forget which patient is in which tab.

Getting better every day

Pros

Everything is so much more efficient now. Thanks to Heno EMR. We were previously wasting a lot of time on redundant tasks. I have literally reclaimed hours of my life.

Cons

The training was a bit off as the training modules were not organized in a clear order. But we got through to it so nothing serious.

Managing my clinic with HENO very well

Pros

Heno ease of use is great. Whenever issues arise, the staff responds quickly and always follows up with meetings to ensure my satisfaction.

Cons

I can't really say there is anything I dislike about Heno.

Grateful for the proactive customer support

Pros

I really like how everything is all in one spot. From sending automatic appointment reminders to handling scheduling, documentation and billing, all seamlessly integrated.

Cons

Well I find it a bit tricky to pull information from evaluations for progress reports and sometimes it's hard to locate the carried-over details.

Reliable EMR for physical therapy

Pros

Heno EMR is really user-friendly, and I would say it works great with the clearinghouse and primary insurance. Billing is quite quick, easy to track and keeping up with daily notes and HEP tracking is not a problem anymore. Plus, moving from evaluations to reassessments is so smooth.

Cons

One issue I have noticed is that secondary insurance is not populating correctly in billing.

Has everything we need...

Pros

I love that this software has everything I need in one place from email POC to intake and two-way texting and even two-way fax.

Cons

I have had some trouble with filtering reports and also it is a bit annoying that it doesn't integrate with other software.

Quite impressed with HENO

Pros

Honestly I am really impressed with how well everything in the system is integrated. I recently added the RCM feature, and I am amazed at how much it's improved my payment rates and the way my AR is handled. Since switching to Heno RCM, my business has been running so much more smoothly and successfully.

Cons

There are so many reports and ways to analyze metrics and data and yes it is definitely a good thing. But honestly, it can feel a bit overwhelming for me trying to figure out how to focus on the right metrics.

Avoid this company

Pros

I do not have anything positive to say. My experience was awful and I was only with them for a month. I would advise staying away from HENO.

Cons

This company does not seem to have your best interest at heart. They gave me a non-working fax number and after I discovered the issue myself, they provided a new fax number. However, they would not reimburse me for redoing my signs, postage, business cards, etc., which all had the incorrect fax number. I had to cover those costs out of pocket. To make matters worse, they would not let me out of my contract, even though I could not use their EMR for an entire month because faxes were not coming through. I had no patient referrals, and HENO claimed it was due to being a new business. Upon investigation, I found out the fax number they issued was incompatible. I received many faxes from physicians that month but couldn't access them. HENO forced me to pay to escape this terrible situation. I will strongly advise others to avoid HENO if I can. As a startup, I ended up about $1000 in the hole because of their mistake.

Very pleased with the product

Pros

Our clinic needed an all in one solution for EMR, scheduling, patient portal and billing, and this system meets all our needs.

Cons

Because HENO is such a large system, there are times when my company cannot get what we need from it. For instance, we want patient contacts to archive after being contacted, but the system does not allow that. We also want to place our text boxes in very specific locations on the medical forms, but the system does not support that level of specificity. HENO lets us place text boxes only where the system allows, not necessarily where we want them. We also stopped using the patient portal because the long password was cumbersome and our patients needed too much help accessing it.

HENO has boosted our productivity

Pros

The reporting features have greatly improved our operational efficiency and workflow. The customer support team deserves recognition too as whenever I have had questions or needed help, their responsiveness and willingness to assist have been praisworthy.

Cons

Payment posting process is not as user-friendly as some other systems I have used.

Dominating the market...

Pros

HENO EMR is by far the most user-friendly platform available, with amazing reporting capabilities and customer support whenever I needed. Also it is very affordable compared to competitors and they are always eager to improve and listen to feedback.

Cons

There are tons of reports available which I feel is great, but they're not exactly easy to access until you really get the hang of Oracle reports.

HENO exceeds expectations

Pros

It covers all aspects of our EMR practices needs. Also it was easy to set up and implement. Moreover we able to train our staff without any hassle too. And I enjoy using it daily for both clinical and administrative tasks. Its a very smart system and a one-stop solution for all billing and payment information.

Cons

I have not been disappointed by any means since I am using HENO.

Be cautious with the contract

Pros

I was very hopeful that starting with an all in one software for our new practice would be a great choice, especially with HENOs excellent reviews from others. During the free trial and walkthrough, it seemed to have everything we could ever need. HENO also provided weekly meetings with a trainer to help us get set up.

Cons

There is no warranty, guarantee or part of the contract that offers any options if the software does not work well for my situation. It states that "the only option is to stop using the software" while continuing to be charged. Like the support team mentioned to us, we gave it a couple of months of training and setup but faced the same issues such as clunky performance, difficulty in use and an unrealistic expectation for all users to use the software in the same way. And when our business model shifted to not using insurance, we found ourselves paying for expensive software that we were using less than 40% of. When we asked if we could be released from the contract without a refund, HENO refused, stating we had to pay the entire amount due for the full term if we wanted to end our relationship. I requested a solution for customer satisfaction, reminding them that not having one could harm their reputation. HENO continued to charge us monthly with no response to my requests, and we've stopped using their software entirely.

Not a good fit for a smaller clinic

Pros

When we were setting up the system, our deployment instructor didn't have any experience with outpatient orthopedic clinics, which made the process a bit frustrating. During our Zoom calls, the HENO rep mostly pointed us to online help videos to answer our questions. But once we got the hang of it, the product turned out to be functional and works well for outpatient orthopedics.

Cons

I cannot emphasize enough that you should not purchase this product if you're running a small clinic. The license is only for one user. If I want to take a day off and have a PRN staff member come in, I need to buy another license. For us, that costs over $200 each day a staff member takes off, for the same number of clinicians doing documentation.

Hoped for better but was let down

Pros

The ability to manage our practice with a single software was a major advantage for us which is why we decided to switch from WebPT to HENO. In some areas, like functioning as a CRM with reminder settings, it performed quite well.

Cons

I spent several weeks working with my biller to try and fix issues with the billing software and clearinghouse, but we couldn't resolve them. And to make things worse, customer support was not available to help us in a timely manner, which ended up causing a significant cash-flow problem for us. As I tried to learn and use HENO, I was really underwhelmed by the overall experience. The UI/UX felt clunky, and a lot of the language was overly technical, which made simple tasks like setting filters or figuring out where to upload and store documents way harder than they needed to be. I also found myself spending way more time on documentation compared to WebPT. The worst part of the experience, though was the contract situation. After only two months of using the system, we realized it wasn't the right fit and asked to void the contract. Unfortunately, we were told, Sorry, you signed a contract. It was a two-year agreement (which looking back, we should never have signed), and we did already paid for the data transfer from WebPT. I did not even ask for a refund and just to be let out of the contract but they refused to budge. I hate leaving reviews like this, but I think it's completely unreasonable to lock someone into a 2 year contract after just two months of dissatisfaction. Also it is a terrible business practice and I hope the owners reconsider this policy. Right now, I can't recommend HENO, even if the software itself is decent. The lack of customer support and the rigid contract terms make it a no-go for me.

The support team is helpful and efficient

Pros

I want to acknowledge support team member for his excellent organization and onboarding of my practice into the Heno system. He was always available to assist with technical issues and solutions, and his professional and calm demeanor gave me reassurance and confidence that we would make it work. I also liked his patience when I had to close during the pandemic and his ongoing support. The most daunting part of transitioning to private practice was billing, as I had only worked with organizations that had dedicated billing departments, so I knew very little about the process. Support team member was incredible as she guided me through every step of the process. Her professionalism and deep understanding of the billing ecosystem allowed me to focus on caring for my patients. Had I known it would be this easy, I would have started private practice much earlier. I also feel that she provides high-level service and support, even though I run a small practice.

Cons

Whenever I have issues, I can contact support, and they respond very quickly. They are always adding new features and are open to requests for modifications. So, no complaints.

Outstanding EMR software

Pros

HENo EMR is easy for new hires to use. Plus the natural flow allows users to customize it to their needs. Also the docs appreciate that our evaluations are both concise and data-rich.

Cons

Honestly, I can't think of anything negative. Our team has really gotten the hang of the system, and we have made some great improvements in using it properly.

Everything you need is in this software

Pros

It is fully customizable and very user-friendly in comparison to other EMR systems I have come across in the past. Also it is one complete system that includes scheduling, documentation and billing without multiple tools or outsourcing billing.

Easy to learn and use

Pros

One thing I like the most is that it has very easy to understand interface. Note making, editing information and constant navigation doesn't slow down the workflow. Plus billing section is also very simple.
