Not bad

Pros

The product is not bad at all, it works fine, and was not even very complex. It was not hard to understand the features and functionalities of this software I must say. This is all coming from a person who doesn’t really know anything about tech, so if I was able to get it, I’m sure any layman would get how to use this product. My experience with this product has been okay.

Cons

Just one thing that was a bit tough or difficult to get was the navigation of the product. Navigating between screens or functions might not be easy for people like us (layman).

Gets the job done for basic Medical Billing / Patient Portal

Pros

This product is cloud-based which makes things a lot easier and is accessible on the go. The product is great for medical practices for a smaller group of people. It has all the basic tools like billing and patient portal which is really great and helps your practice grow in a successful way.

Cons

The customer support doesnt really give you more information to maximize the capabilities of the program, rather they just give you information in bits and pieces, and it is really difficult to get in contact with the customer support. There were a few features that used to be free once but now they are restricted and needs to be purchased in order to use them.

Nice Software

Pros

It is a pretty simple and easy software, anyone can easily get their hands on it. Something that I really like about this EHR is its ease of posting payments, and if you ever make a mistake, it is easy to see it, so that you could correct it.

Cons

The thing that I do not like about this EHR is that it wont let you correct a mistake, and to correct it you have to completely delete the post and start it all over again, and it reverses the payment as well. This takes a lot of your time, and becomes frustrating when youre prone to making mistakes.

Worst Customer Service I have EVER experienced. Truly. Used over 8 different EHRs since residency, never experienced such a disaster.

Pros

The only good thing I can say about this product is that it is easy to see the collections for the month, amount cash, credit, check and insurance payer. Thats the only positive facts about it. I dont see anymore.

Cons

I really did not like the product. I am actually someone who quite easily gets pleased, but if I am not pleased that means the product is actually that bad. Refill requests are not being submitted from pharmacies, no e-lab, as no one instructed me about it. It is a black hole, and I mean it. If you want to save your time as doctors, I would recommend you, never to use it. I paid for a year, and it has been 3 months after paying, and still I have not been receiving any refill requests from pharmacies. I have spent a lot of time trying to communicate with them, but still issues are not resolved. They asked me calling other places, and people there were skeptical, as they told me that my problem existed within Kareo and why I had been calling them. It is insanity. I am really frustrated that I cant even explain it. Also, when I send a portal message, the patient doesnt get it or what, I dont know, but they have no clue about it. Kareo is that product who can not do anything at all, literally.

excellent practice management software for general outpatient practices

Pros

Kareo EMR is very user-friendly, easy to learn and use. The billing, practice management and clinical documentation is amazing, and youd enjoy using it. It is an excellent product. Something that Id like is to have more customized templates for my wound care practice. Having that would actually make it the best product ever.

Cons

For my practice, when I try to create a customized template, it isnt an easy task, it takes a lot of understanding and hard work. It should be more user-friendly when it comes to building templates for a larger outpatient market.

Many people can work

Pros

This product is very easy to use, as it is quite simple. They do provide you with a lot of training tutorials that helps you learn how to use it, and the tutorials are detailed. It is cloud-based, which makes it easy for many people to work on the program, which in short makes this product super awesome as well.

Cons

Transferring insurance data from your old systems to this new system wouldn’t be as easy as you might have thought of it to be, and the payments part is a little tough too.

Poor leadership and service

Pros

Easy to learn and use, has a lot of functionality such as good reports, batch processing, management of multiple users, cloud-based accessibility, and good visual scales of billing. Performance is even good of this EHR.

Cons

The customer service is terrible, I repeat its terrible, and not only that, all of a sudden they increased the prices, which causes a lot of trouble for people running a small practice. I used to be their client and for quite a long time. I started using kareo back in 2010, and now Ive left it, due to increase in rates. They caused us to switch our EHR and go through a lot of switching expense. They dont even respond to you, when you protest or say something, but yeah when you email them to cancel it, then they do respond back, like wow man. They also billed me an additional extra month after i cancelled. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

It could be improved.

Pros

It is because of my sales rep. I chose this product and used it. They do provide with a lot of great tutorials for training. It is easy to learn and use this product and is simple. If you are starting off your practice, then this is a product that would suit you.

Cons

The thing that I dislike about this product is that their customer service never responds when you need them, plus they’re very slow in responding back. I’ve made many suggestions to them, so that they could improve, but as a matter of fact they don’t seem like doing anything to improve or fix the problems that their customers are facing.

Kareo Billing Software

Pros

When I started my own new part-time private practice, I wanted a billing software to ease my billing tasks. After looking into 3 to 4 products Kareo was the first one to set me up with billing medicare. Although now I can expand it to use for billing other insurances but still I havent set it up for that. Using this billing medicare, Ive got to learn a lot about many features related to billing and it is very quick and simple to it. Ive also signed up for Kareos clinical software, and I am also paying for it, but still I havent started using it. It is very quick and easy to bill online for each claim once the client and insurance information is set up. The software allows the printing of 1500 paper forms as well. I havent used this feature but it would save me a lot of time and hassle of refilling. The online tutorials available are also very helpful, and convenient as getting information becomes easier, rather than signing up for a phone or video training session. Although the trainers are very helpful and easy to access. I havent used a lot of features but its nice to know that they are there, and I can use them anytime I want to.

Cons

There isnt any specific complaint to tell about this product or their support staff.

Kareo Review

Pros

We use Kareo as a billing software for our office, and it has been 3 years since weve been using it. It has never disappointed us in those 3 years, and we hope it wont disappoint us in the future as well. Their customer support service is phenomenal. I call them all the time, whenever I have an issue related to customized support and in return, I have always been treated like royalty and they help me get through things quite easily.

Cons

Most of the times the information from our electronic records software does no show up the way it is expected to show on Kareo system. Another issue that I have noticed is that information of some doctors show up, but there are other doctors as well and their information does not show up, and I do not really get that why this happens.

Almost 3 years of use and we still love it!

Pros

It has been almost 3 years since we started using it, although coming from a background with no experience in billing, patient demographics, posting payments, insurance etc, things seemed easy with Kareo. The transition from solo practice to Kareo was easier than we imagined. This system is quite amazing and has helped us a lot with managing payments etc.

Cons

There are issues with date changes being updated, especially when it comes to the payment date changes which takes a while and is quite confusing. Once the issue is discovered, it takes a while but then they do something to fix this problem.

None are perfect, but Kareo is proficient

Pros

No software is perfect, but at least this software is proficient. It has a very simple and easy to use front-end, with an amazing support line that are readily available. It is not complex at all for you too have an in-house IT staff. The biggest advantage of using Kareo is that many users can use it without any extra payment for it.

Cons

Heres a little truth, that everyone would agree with and that is no billing software is perfect. I would have to say that some of their features do need a bit of polish, and I am optimistic that they will soon do what is needed. It has been quite a while that Ive been using this software, and given enough time, I could pick any of them apart for the things they do in that arent ideal enough.

Kareo is a great, simple, software program!

Pros

It is a great software, simple and easy. Getting trained was really fast due to the simplicity of the product. I, myself can easily train new physicians that we hire in about 30 to 40 minutes and even on phone. The greatest thing about this EHR system is their support team, as they are always there to help you in every way possible.

Cons

One thing that I think Kareo doesnt really focus on is testing the product. The software updates usually come out at the end of the month, and sometimes there are bugs in those updates, although they do fix it as soon as possible but Id suggest that they test the updates prior to their release date.

Medical Biller 5+ years experience using Kareo PMS

Pros

It has been more than 5 years that weve been using Kareo PMS. The provider performance reports allow my clients to know their daily, weekly, or monthly key indicators through automatic emails. The to-do list that this software has helps me prioritize the daily tasks that I have to do. Well, I wouldnt have been using this system for a long time if it didnt work well, so my 5+ years experience speaks a lot about it.

Cons

The con is that it sometimes loses the information or details that you enter while scheduling an appointment, and there isnt much reason to why it happens, but its extremely annoying and frustrating when you enter details and suddenly it gets lost and you have to do it all again. This is all the extra work that the billing staff has to do of manually entering the prior authorization number and referring provider on every managed care counter again.

KAREO makes Job easier

Pros

Kareo literally makes it easy to do all your tasks, like reporting etc. Everything seems very easy to do with this EMR software. The number of rejected claims have also reduced due to the ability to send out clean claims, which is also an amazing feature of Kareo. The chat support of Kareo is a wonderful tool, as you might be someplace else and a patient needs you, so this helps.

Cons

What I would like Kareo to work on is if they could add total under patient statements at the bottom of each column, and if they could add the feature that lets us see the visit count on the account or general page. If these two features or functionality is added, it would be great.
