“My journey with ModMed

Pros

I apperciate that anyone at any of our 4 locations can work on the same patient at the same time. The whole system is easy to use from almost any angle.

Cons

It would be great if I could enter more info, like nicknames, right on the scheduling screen. In our office, we usually find the date and time of the appointment and double-click to start scheduling but some details don't show up unless you create the patient first and find the date and time later, which is a problem.

“Issues with the iPad

Pros

The layout and ease of use of ModMed on desktop is awesome. It's really easy to use and very user-friendly!

Cons

The process for signing consent forms could definitely use some improvement. I'd appreciate a bit more detail on how it works.

“Easy to operate

Pros

I find it really easy to use. The follow-up tabs make it simple to document and I love being able to look at past findings to track my patients.

Cons

For the body map, the pretibial area is huge and it's hard to document multiple biopsy sites there with different names for clarity.

ModMed is super easy to use and it's pretty self-explanatory.

I wish that if there's a mistake on a bill, I could just fix it instead of having to recreate the whole thing.

I love that we can just drag and drop files into patient charts instead of printing and scanning everything. It saves so much time!

The insurance verification feature doesn't work with all insurances, which can be frustrating.

“Awesome EMR for daily use

Pros

Navigation is super easy! I picked up the EMR really quickly and it's perfect for dermatology.

Cons

I can't really think of any big issues. The only challenge I had was just learning a new system when I started my job.

I've been really impressed with the kindness and transparency of everyone we've worked with, from sales reps to project managers and all the trainers during implementation. They're all eager to help however they can.

Cons

The communication around submitting support cases is hit or miss. Sometimes it's great but other times like when our biller submits cases for billing issues, we never hear back which is unacceptable.

Pros

I like that you can customize the layout and change the order when you're pretesting. It makes things way more flexible.

Cons

Some of the changes after updates can be frustrating. Things get moved around and it's hard to find what I need sometimes.

Pros

They roll out very helpful updates at mod med. I used to work with paper charts until a friend told me about it and its been a total gamechanger.

Cons

Updates are too frequent for my liking. Some of the features theyre adding just arent necessary making things more complicated than they need to be.

We use both the PM and EHR parts and they work together really well! Really well structured and well integrated!

Cosmetic packages are a bit complex. Can be a little frustraing!

Checking eligibility is so much easier now and we can pull benefits from insurances we couldn't with our old software.

Inputting information seems to take a bit more time than I'd like.

I'm familiar with it and it's really easy to use. I can always find what I need without a problem.

Cons

Finding patients can be tricky sometimes. It often takes longer than expected and feels pretty time-consuming.

It's really easy to use especially for dermatology. I like how drug interactions are listed and prescribing medications is very simple.

When info gets stuck in the sticky notes, it's really hard to remove which is annoying.

It was so easy to learn! The templates are really helpful and make everything much smoother.

The "sticky" for shoulder ROM doesn't stick, which is really frustrating.

I keep running into little glitches and error codes. That part could really be improved.

I think Modmed is the best EMR system out there. You have everything you need in just one software.

Sometimes it gets stuck but overall I think it's a great system.

“Perfect for iPad, not desktop

Pros

It's very iPad-friendly which I love. It's efficient for dermatologic issues and I like that commonly used prescriptions start to auto-populate after a while.

The desktop version is much harder to use for charting. It's just not as efficient for documenting exam findings as using the iPad. I really wish there were templates that would auto-populate exam findings and prescriptions based on the diagnosis.

Pros

What I like most about Mod Med is that it's very detailed! It helps with giving out the right coding for any diagnosis and it efficiently updates patient records.

Cons

Sometimes the system just decides to update at the most random times.

“great charts but poor printing

Pros

It is really nice to have a diagram of the body in the chart that you can just click on for the part you need. It also helps us get authorizations for our patients.

Cons

When you add an attachment to a visit, it doesn't print out with the visit note. We'd love to be able to include things like radiology reports when we send notes to the insurance company.
