the billing department is terrible

Pros

In my experience it works very well in some areas but it's extremely poor in others.

Cons

The billing department is the worst I have ever dealt with. They refuse to speak to customers directly and they create false invoices, which clearly goes against our contract. This is my absolute worst experience with any vendor.

Very easy but updates annoy me

Pros

The best part is how user-friendly it is. I've even been able to train new hires who have no medical experience because the system is just that easy to figure out.

Cons

I don't like that the providers are just listed in alphabetical order on the schedule. I'd much prefer if they were grouped into categories like Doctors, Pas and NPs. It would make it so much easier for new hires to figure out who is who.

easy to train new staff

Pros

With Modmed I really like how we have quick access to a patient's important information. It helps us provide them with the quality of service they need.

Cons

The thing I like least about this tool is how much digging I have to do in a patient's chart just to make sure we have all their correct information and to verify their insurance. It feels like it takes longer than it should.

Quick access but hard to verify

Pros

I've had a wonderful experience with it. They update their knowledge base often which is great.

Cons

I wish the system had more dermatology diagnoses included by default and better default procedure choices. Having to type them out each time can be a issue.

Pros

I find modmed to be very organized and super easy to use.

Cons

Sometimes the app glitches but honestly it doesn't happen very often. It's pretty rare.

Pros

I like that the system is easy for us employees to use.

Cons

I really wish the patient portal was more useful for both patients and staff. It would be great if patients could more easily get information, complete forms and contact us through it.

easy but portal needs work

Pros

Mod Med is great because it makes all the documentation work so much easier and more helpful. It's key in our dermatology practice.

Cons

It doesn't let me log in to my account even when I'm 100% sure I'm putting in the correct password. It's frustrating.

Makes documentation much easier

Pros

The patient data is organized really well on one screen though they could add a few more quick-access tweaks. The physical exam section is powerful but could also use a few tweaks. I love the ICD-10 codes with the patient education points that part is really flexible. The algorithm for calculating E&M codes seems fair.

Cons

There are a few small things that add up. The list of saved prescriptions is too limited and I can't even add a new one without opening a chart. I also wish there was a simple way to edit that list.It's annoying that there's no quick way to add a kid's height and weight when sending a prescription. I have to enter it all over again if I need to send a second prescription. I'd like a faster way to add medication allergies. Also tasks don't show up in the patient encounter summary and the physical exam section is missing some key descriptions that my MA has to type in manually every time.

well organized with small issues

Pros

My practice loves the EMR. We think it's clearly the top system for dermatology. We've been using it since 2014 and its ease of use is such a plus. New staff who are inexperienced are always intimidated at first but they learn the system so quickly. It just makes sense!

Cons

I wish the Practice Management (PM) side of things was a bit more developed. There are so many features I'd like to see. For example I like to compare data year-over-year but it only shows two years of data. If I want anything older, I have to put in a request for it which is frustrating.

Top system for dermatology

Pros

I like how user-friendly it is and how easily I was able to learn to navigate the program.

Cons

Nothing at all I haven't had any problems with ModMed.

very easy with no problems

Pros

The schedule tab makes it so easy to filter doctor visits for patients and to check them in.

Cons

I dislike that the "save" buttons are so tiny. Sometimes I finish my work and then realize I forgot to hit save because the button is so easy to miss.

Pros

Really enjoy that I can take the app on the go with me while I'm working with patients.

Cons

The internet connection drops out pretty often which can be really frustrating when I'm in the middle of something. But that's not the tool's fault

Good for remote work

Pros

I love when it tells you what's missing or invalid when you're scheduling appointments. It's also easy to change an appointment's day or time. I like being able to see the doctor's schedule and the color-coding for the different types of appointments.

Cons

I wish I knew more about everything ModMed can do. I feel like it could really help streamline our scheduling but I never got any official training to learn all the features.

Smooth scheduling needs more training

Pros

The ease of use and the iPad interface make documenting from anywhere in the country a complete smooth.

Cons

I can't really think of any downsides. The team is really responsive when we ask for new features and they fix any issues quickly.

Powerful but a bit hard to learn

Pros

Appreciate how the verification process and most of the main demographics are all in one spot for you to see. Everything is just easy to use.

Cons

Some sections ask unnecessary questions that I have to fill out. It feels a bit repetitive sometimes.

Financial area is simple

Pros

game-changer for us

Pros

The ability to take and store photos right in the chart is a game-changer. I also love the wide selection of impressions and the fact that a lot of the patient counseling points are already prepopulated which saves me time.

Cons

Every once in a while, there's an issue where the counseling information in the system isn't totally accurate.

Pros

I find it relatively easy to use especially compared to other medical platforms I've used. It's definitely more user-friendly overall.

Cons
