I find the specialty-specific information lacking.

Cons

Im disappointed by the lack of user customization. Often an ICD10 code is used for more than one diagnosis. Many common diagnoses dont exist in the ModMed system and I cant add them. They suggest using an ICD code that might include such diagnoses but the specific diagnosis doesnt carry through the note documentation.

Needs better billing team
Pros

When I contact customer service theyre polite but cant help much with billing questions. They always redirect me to the billing department but the wait time for them to respond is terrible.

Cons

Mod Meds billing team is slow to answer emails and theres no direct number for them. We keep getting billed for downgraded services. Response time is longer than two weeks and when someone does reply they arent very knowledgeable about our account. Waiting for responses is absurdly long. Also our invoice portal isnt accurate and doesnt show all our invoices.

Its easy to document HPI with quick text and it helps with ordering.

Cons

Customer support was disappointing. There was no surgical op report available when we purchased it. Everything had to be customized and very little was provided from the purchase date.

Support Drops off a cliff after implementation
Pros

There are plenty of features and its clear that they listened during development. We appreciate the ease of use and customization available for our practice.

Cons

Support drastically declines after implementation. I submitted a critical issue ticket on 1/29/24 about our AR but havent heard back. I reached out to support our assigned representative and her supervisor but received no response. Its sad to get such terrible customer support when paying a higher price for a product. With our previous EMR we always had a response the next business day. Its been three days now. Disappointed. Ticket #02319526 for the ModMed rep who will inevitably respond to this review.

Pros

I love the appointment flow screen and having all the info for each appointment on one screen. The EMR is unmatched for real-time charting in the patient room. The biopsy log feature is also fantastic compared to our previous paper log.

ModMed is always making updates and getting better.

Great EHR maybe WORST customer service in history
Pros

The EHR documentation is excellent and the iPad interface is good.

Cons

Customer service is nonexistent. Weve asked to remove providers and services over the years but they keep billing us for them. Even after selling the company and transferring the account we still get billed. Theyre unresponsive and simply dont care about our business once we start with them.

The better of the EHR systems
Pros

Modmed has a nearly foolproof design but theres room for improvement. Its fairly easy to train new staff on the features and processes. Support is generally great with fast response times but it depends on who answers the phone.

Cons

Support quality varies depending on who answers the phone. The billing/claims end is just okay but it definitely needs fine-tuning. Analytics are a nightmare.

Its visually appealing and easy to use even for non-tech-savvy staff.

Cons

Its inefficient with constant scrolling switching between screens unable to upload prescription details doesn�t update history automatically and frequently crashes.

Pros

As a volunteer clinician at the Heartland Jesuits Shelter-NV, we were searching for an affordable EHR with the maximum number of patient data-tracking and billing management features available. ModMed has proven to be a solid subscription for these ends. The patient analytics feature is especially good; we’ve increased our tracked revenue from subsidized patient e-payments by 12% over the last quarter – hoping for even better this time.

Great product but tricked us into paying $28K extra
Pros

We love the actual product. Cloud-based services are great compared to our previous local server/remote setup.

Cons

Software support has been good but it took around six weeks to get a response from the billing team. The initial contract didnt show any of the ancillary items we specifically asked about except efax. They also didnt include tax on the contract so its misleading when budgeting or making financial decisions to switch. We were led to believe that everything we could be charged for was included but that wasnt the case.

ModMed is the goods for ophthalmology practices
Pros

As a state-of-the-art eye clinic in Madison, we needed an affordable EMR service to automate our clinic; frankly because due to staff shortage are rising location overheads, we had to rely on tech to get the job done. ModMed, since we signed up in Jan 2022, hasn’t disappointed for the most part. The patient scheduling feature is the best; we’ve been able to drive a lot of our revenue during COVID with telemedicine on it.

Cons

Onboarding was a little difficult at first; it did take us a good two weeks to learn it properly (but it’s paid off, so not a lot to worry about.

When you shut it down it doesnt restart on its own like a vampire or zombie.

Cons

Customer service is poor the interface is overcomplicated training is inadequate and weve contracted with an inept and inadequate clearinghouse. They respond to every single request with Good idea but we cant do that and what should be single-step processes require multiple screens and users. They flood my inbox with invitations to seminars where Im supposed to learn how to improve my business. Its obnoxious and intrusive.

Cons

My experience was marred by subpar customer service an overly complex interface and insufficient training. Additionally issues with the clearinghouse unproductive responses and cumbersome processes were highly aggravating. The constant inundation of seminar invitations was also intrusive.

The EMR software EMA is good and user-friendly saving time in clinic. The EMR software EMA was notably userfriendly and helped me save time during clinic operations.

Cons

Despite the softwares functionality the process of implementing new features was arduous due to prolonged discovery calls and delayed service deployments. My dissatisfaction was exacerbated by the poor quality of customer service especially considering the premium pricing.

Pros

The best EMA for specialty practice in the market. Modernizing Medicine has specifically designed its software to provide all the features that would make our day-to-day working experience ten times better and easier. It prioritizes the needs of the patients and clinicians. The platform is so easy to navigate and simple to work with. The support staff is very helpful, kind, and knowledgeable. There are different modules that integrate seamlessly with the EMA, such as patient portal, diagnostics, practice management, billing, etc. The companys pro-activity and responsiveness set them apart from any competitor on the market.

Cons

The office has to make adjustments and increase its workflow to come together in cooperation with the system’s speed.
