“Highly Reccomend
Pros
I find patient scheduling more efficient, with quick access to patient information and medical records. Storing old records from other offices is useful, and the software is intuitive. Customizing it for different departments in the office is a great feature.
Cons
I don't have any complaints about iMedicware at this time.

“Terrible service, awful experience for several years.
Pros
Documenting progress notes and the clinical view is very intuitive.
Cons
The service was non-existent. We had billing and software issue tickets pending for over a year without any responses. Issues with software, billing, or practice management were ignored, and financial reports were inaccurate and unusable.

“Don't go with IMedicWare
Pros
The software itself is good, but the customer support and cloud services are absolutely terrible! The company doesn't care if your Cloud/EMR goes down. In early 2020, my clinic was severely impacted by this issue. The IMW team just brushed it off and didn't want to address the problems. I've been battling them since then and refused to pay for those two months due to breach of contract. It cost me thousands in staff costs and delays. Now they're threatening to cut off all support. You can do better with any other EMR. DON'T CHOOSE IMW!!!
Cons
The customer service and cloud connectivity are both poor. Refer to my previous comments.

“Very Cumbersome and NonIntuitive Ophthalmology Software
Pros
There are many documentation options, but they are extremely cumbersome. However, the scheduling software is pretty good.
Cons
The interface is very cumbersome. While it has drawing capabilities, they are difficult to use. Documenting medical details and finding them in subsequent exams is challenging. Routine exams are manageable, but anything unusual is hard to document and locate later. Different physicians record details in various ways, making follow-up exams on emergent patients difficult. Even patients who are software engineers were surprised at how many steps are needed to document a medical visit.

“Excellent Ophthalmic EMR, Responsive CEO, Medical Director & Staff
Pros
It's vital for a medical practice that the vendor's staff responds to our needs, and iMedicware excels at this. The CEO understands ophthalmic practices well and is responsive to our needs. The Medical Director educates us on compliance with Meaningful Use, PQRS, and eRx, and can represent us in audits if necessary, which is a tremendous asset. Our ASC also uses iMedicware, and it's user-friendly for both staff and surgeons. Having the same vendor for both the practice and ASC is cost-effective and efficient.
Cons
Despite challenges posed by Meaningful Use requirements, these are external factors beyond the control of the vendor. Choosing iMedicware for both our practice and ASC has proven to be the right decision.

“Review of iDoc software
Pros
As the President of a medical billing company specializing in Ophthalmology, I demoed all recommended EMR and practice management systems available today. We chose iMedicWare for its easy transition from our legacy system, competitive pricing, and responsive customer service. After two years of use, iMedicWare has exceeded our expectations. Our productivity has increased significantly with fewer staff members. From a management perspective, the system allows us to track days in AR and physician productivity, key indicators for our business. The iMedicWare support team has been instrumental in easing our transition and providing individualized support.
Cons
While the standard reporting function could benefit from additional robustness, the proactive assistance from customer support in custom reporting is commendable.

Pros
I see iMedicWare as an evolving product that innovates by offering Providers and Practice managers not only the basics but also advanced concepts to improve their practice. Their customer service is excellent; they are always available and follow up on issues promptly.
Cons
The system consistently requires enhancements in its training regimen, particularly when introducing new products into its portfolio.

“Excellent Ophthalmic EMR, Responsive CEO, Medical Director & Staff
Pros
It's essential for a medical practice to have a responsive vendor, and iMedicware meets that need. The CEO has a great understanding of ophthalmic practices and is very responsive. The company's Medical Director educates us on compliance with Meaningful Use, PQRS, and eRx, and can represent us in audits, which is a tremendous asset. Our ASC also uses iMedicware, and it is straightforward for both staff and surgeons. Having the same vendor for both the practice and ASC is cost-effective and efficient.
Cons
The Meaningful Use requirements are not the vendor's fault! I believe we made the right choice with iMedicware for our practice and ASC.

“Excellent Ophthalmology All-In-One!
Pros
It has an excellent workflow for ophthalmologists and optometrists, including glaucoma and retina flow sheets, image import and interpretation, auto billing from exams, contact lens fitting, and integration with the scheduling module. It also has great Meaningful Use reporting. Converting from paper to EMR with iMedicWare is easy, and the staff adapts quickly.
Cons
I would like the Optical Module to bill directly to VSP.

“Happy iMedicWare user
Pros
The application is very intuitive, with a simple interface similar to a paper chart, making data entry logical and quick. I can see a full load of patients without needing a scribe. Being web-based allows access from anywhere. Test images and reports integrate nicely into the chart note. Training ancillary staff is straightforward. They continually seek user feedback to improve the software. This ophthalmology-specific company is another positive.
Cons
Overall, I'm very satisfied. Usage can get more complex due to Meaningful Use and PQRS requirements. I don't believe this is an issue with the vendor but with the industry's compliance measures.

“My best friend....iMedicWare
Pros
iMedicWare is straightforward software. The staff found it easy to learn, taking patients from phone call to optical smoothly. All doctors, regardless of computer experience, picked up on the EHR and loved it. From an administrator's view, the ease of use is the best part. The vendor provided amazing support throughout. Over the years, I've gotten to know the team well; they listen to my ideas and seek opinions to improve the system, which is invaluable.
Cons
It's not that I dislike the CL inventory/flow portion of the software, but we don't use it because it's more work to maintain. We also don't use the Optical portion, as we rely on a management company for optical.

“Top-notch support
Pros
From the CEO to the development and technical staff, the iMedicWare team has built a culture of support, hiring specialized staff that understand ophthalmology's specific needs.
Cons
iMedicWare is specific to ophthalmology, and the team collaborates closely with customers on product enhancements. These often require additional training for staff and physicians, which is beneficial but requires customer resources for training and support.

“Wonderful EMR Experience
Pros
Despite my initial hesitation about transitioning to EMR, I found iMedicWare very comfortable and easy to use. My staff found it quite simple, and it did not slow down my work, which was a concern. In terms of cost and value, it couldn't be better.
Cons
I wish we could have implemented it quicker, although part of the delay was our own indecisiveness.

“iO Practiceware: why I love the system overall
Pros
As a solo practitioner in a retina-only practice, seeing 30-40 patients a day, I separate software issues from connectivity problems and frustrations with EMR, PQRS, and MU regulations. The touchscreen interface and endorsement from a large retina group enticed me. We chose a cloud-based EMR and prepared for implementation for three months as recommended by iO. Implementation was smooth, and within weeks, I was back to my regular patient load without a scribe. Synchronizing billing with iO made it more efficient than pre-EMR, with faster payments. Starting with templates from another practice, I've tailored them to make patient assessments more efficient.
Cons
There are many steps from seeing patients to checkout. Objectively, most are related to PQRS/PQR I and MU requirements. I can make this more efficient by rearranging buttons/templates, which is easy to do. Initially, support was sparse. Recently, I and my office staff have been able to speak with someone efficiently. Occasionally, there are connectivity issues, which we're troubleshooting with iO. Since we're cloud-based in the Midwest, this seems more a cloud issue than a software one. I still prefer cloud-based over server-based as updates are done overnight. The company frequently updates their software and responds to requests for updates/modifications faster now.
