“Falls behind others”
Pros
The mobile app works fine and makes speech recognition easy to use though it's not the best experience on an iPhone or iPad.
Cons
Well the desktop version is very slow which annoys me a lot and offers no advantages over any of its competitors.

“Bad choice”
Pros
NextGen Office patient encounter portion was fairly user-friendly. Though it was still pretty heavy but the templates they offered helped a bit.
Cons
The billing side was a nightmare and probably cost our company thousands which is a lot for just two providers. Customer service was awful too as you would wait weeks for a vague reply that did not help. After enough complaints we finally reached a manager but they did not seem to care. So we left as soon as our contract was up.

“Feels outdated”
Pros
The filing tools are easy to use and give us plenty of options for organizing documents once they are scanned into the system.
Cons
The system runs very slowly, freezes often, and makes even simple tasks take much longer than they should. Overall I would say a lot of improvements need to be made.

“Support here isn't reliable”
Pros
Prescribing with Nextgen was super smooth right from the start. I didn't run into any issues at all, which is a big deal for me.
Cons
I had a terrible experience with support. The onboarding was awful and the rep could barely answer any of my questions. A month later, when I had more questions, the rep told me we had used up all of our hours. There's no app to use on the go and now the rep has been MIA for a month while we're trying to cancel.

“Not ideal for dermatology”
Pros
I love how the clinical and practice management EMR work together. It's so smooth and I don't have to worry about switching between systems.
Cons
This just isn't a good fit for dermatology. It's not streamlined or efficient at all. There are so many clicks and scrolls to get through, which makes everything feel really slow and frustrating.

“Stay away from this”
Pros
There are a ton of features, which is great but it feels like someone just tossed me into a cockpit and told me to figure out how to fly. It's a bit overwhelming without proper guidance.
Cons
The price is insanely high and the customer service is beyond disappointing. I was expecting way more for what I paid.

“It works well enough”
Pros
I really like how it lets me track employees and manage care. plus the managed cloud hosting is a huge bonus especially at this price.
Cons
The reporting and analytics were all over the place and didn't seem accurate. I couldn't rely on the numbers, which was really frustrating.

“Good solution”
Pros
I've been using Nextgen for a while now and honestly, it's one of the most user-friendly systems I've ever come across. The best part for me is how smoothly everything flows together
Cons
There aren't many specialty areas available in the system, which made it hard to find what I was looking for. Definitely felt limited.

“Lots of features but too many clicks”
Pros
I like that NextGen offers lots of ways to customize. We have set up tailored templates that help our clinicians simplify and speed up their daily tasks. From what our team tells me, the interface feels user friendly to get around. It really comes across as simple to use tool.
Cons
We're annoyed by how many clicks are required across different screens such as managing medications which is a prime example that slows us down. My nursing staff also complains that the system forces you to have only one patient chart open at any given moment which limits efficiency.

“NextGen makes your day easier”
Pros
The best part for me is how easy it is to connect with Avaya and pull up my claims for work. Super convenient.

It goes down way too often and sometimes won't automatically pull up claims which is a huge problem when you need things to work quickly.

“Smart choice in EMR”
Pros
Overall it's a solid EMR. The billing features are more than enough for what I need.

Pros
NextGen has a nice, clean layout that I really like. Plus it's super easy to navigate and everything is right where you'd expect it to be. Overall it is a user friendly platform.
Cons

“Pretty helpful for us”
Pros
I find NextGen Office to be a really useful platform for managing patient information. It has a range of templates and customization options that make organizing everything simple and this flexibility has been a game-changer for our practice. I can set up templates specific to the types of appointments we handle, and it's easy to adjust things to suit our workflow. This saves so much time, especially when documenting patient visits and retrieving records.
Cons
New software updates can be challenging for me because they often erase previously customized features which requires me to set them up again. medical staff and providers need to be retrained to become familiar with the new features and options.

“Works well but should be improved”
Pros
The integration between our practice manager (scheduling) and EMR (records) software is fantastic. Also I love how I can easily forward and save smart phrases to speed up my note writing process.
Cons
Personally, I think that completing the exercise log is a very boring task. it takes way too much time in comparison to other sections of notes. other than this, it is a bit complicated to deal with some sections of the evaluations and it results in complications while locating information.
